- Fittings can be designed differently depending on the application, depending on whether they are used for post insulators, bushings, transducers or long-rod insulators. In any case, they serve as connection elements and for the transmission of force between an insulating body and a fastening surface or a fastening point. They should be resistant to leakage currents in order to save overall height or lay distance on the insulating element. They should also be corrosion resistant for outdoor use.

- Such metal fittings for insulating bodies made of ceramic or plastic are not resistant to leakage current and often only sufficiently resistant to corrosion after surface treatment.
