- the electrical signals are not converted into genuine, piston-like movements of the membrane, but the membrane suffers deformations due to partial vibrations. Such deformations lead to sound pressure waves which do not correspond to the triggering electrical signal, that is to say reproduce it in a distorted manner.
- partial vibrations mean considerable additional stress on the membrane material, which can lead to fatigue and even destruction of the membrane.
