- the invention relates to a flame-retardant covering material for upholstered furniture, in particular for vehicle seats, with a base fabric and a pile woven with it.
- the relevant safety regulations generally require that the materials used for the construction and, in particular, the interior fittings have a certain flame resistance. This applies particularly to the interior of aircraft cabins. With regard to the upholstery of upholstered seats, it is required that it be flame-retardant and, moreover, keep embers away from the upholstery material for as long as possible. In practice, however, it has been shown that it is extremely difficult to produce a cover fabric which, on the one hand, meets the comfort requirements of the passengers and, on the other hand, passes the specified flame resistance tests.
