Definitions
- the present invention relates to a screw-tight closure device for containers such as flasks and jars, containing products, food or non-food, to be kept away from oxygen, this device comprising a capsule bucket shape, with a bottom and an internal thread skirt, the bottom of the capsule having, in the vicinity of its connection to the skirt, an annular seal intended to cooperate with the edge of the neck or neck of the container and constituted by a plastisol poured in the liquid state and gelled.
- the closure devices for containers intended to contain products, to be kept away from oxygen generally comprise a metal capsule provided internally with a plastisol seal (suspension of PVC resin in a plasticizer ) or in similar materials, ensuring a "mechanical" seal between the bottom of the capsule and the edge of the neck or neck of the container.
- a plastisol seal suspension of PVC resin in a plasticizer
- the oxygen tightness of the closure device is ensured by the metal of the capsule.
- a plugging device is also known with a snap-on capsule made of a flexible plastic material such as polyethylene, this capsule being provided on its bottom with a washer of a complex of paper and PVC.
- a complex washer is placed in a mold and the capsule is formed by overmolding the complex washer, which ensures the direct adhesion of this complex washer to the capsule.
- polyethylene On this known polyethylene capsule, which is very permeable to oxygen, the complex washer ensures the oxygen impermeability of the closure device.
- Screw closure devices comprising a capsule made of a plastic material such as polypropylene provided with an annular plastisol seal provided on the bottom of the capsule, in the vicinity of the connection of the bottom to the skirt of the capsule.
- the plastic does not ensure that this capsule is impermeable to oxygen and, since the plastisol of the seal does not adhere to the polypropylene of the capsule, it is necessary to provide, on the bottom of the capsule, a annular groove intended to receive and position the plastisol seal ensuring only "mechanical" sealing.
- the present invention relates to a screw closure device of the type defined above comprising a capsule which, while being of a lower cost price than mechanical capsules, nevertheless ensures both good impermeability to the oxygen and good "mechanical" sealing.
- the capsule consists of an injected thermoplastic material, permeable to oxygen.
- the bottom of the capsule is covered with a sheet of an oxygen-impermeable complex, comprising a layer of paper and a layer of PVC, said sheet adhering to the bottom of the capsule due to the overinjection of the capsule onto said sheet, paper side.
- a plastisol joint is poured onto said complex sheet, on the PVC layer side near the connection of the bottom to the skirt of the capsule, so as to adhere to the PVC layer of the complex sheet after gelation.
- the complex sheet adheres to the bottom of the capsule without the use of adhesive, by the fact that the capsule is over-injected on the complex sheet, and the plastisol seal which provides mechanical sealing of the closure device adheres to the complex sheet because the plastisol poured onto the complex sheet is of the same nature as the PVC layer of this sheet.
- the complex sheet comprises a layer of paper coated on one side with chlorinated rubber and laminated on the side coated with a PVC film.
- the complex sheet may further comprise a PVDC film between the coated paper layer and the PVC film.
- the bottom of the capsule In order to ensure the correct positioning of the plastisol seal poured in the liquid state, it is advantageous for the bottom of the capsule to be concave, that is to say has a domed shape towards the inside.
- the plastisol is brought and maintained with certainty in the area of the connection of the bottom with the capsule skirt.
- the illustrated closure device intended to be attached by screwing onto the neck or neck of a container, for example a bottle or a jar, preferably made of glass, comprises a capsule 1 made of plastic material, for example in nucleated polypropylene.
- the capsule 1 is formed by a concave-shaped bottom 2 and a substantially cylindrical skirt 3, comprising an internal thread 4 of the quick-pitch type.
- the bottom 2 of the capsule 1 is internally covered with a washer 5 of complex comprising, according to FIG. 2, a layer of paper 6 coated, on the face remote from the bottom 2, with a layer of chlorinated rubber 7 recovered from 8 PVC film.
- a seal 9 of plastisol is added by casting on the inner face of the bottom 2 covered by the washer 5, in the connection area of the bottom 2 to the skirt 3. This plastisol seal adheres without adhesive to the PVC sheet 8 of the washer 5, after gelation.
- a preferred embodiment will be described below for the manufacture of a closure device 1 as described above.
- the capsule 1 provided with the complex washer 5 After demolding the capsule 1 provided with the complex washer 5, flows into the inverted capsule 1, near the connection of the bottom 2 to the skirt 3, on the PVC sheet 8 of the washer 5, an annular bead of plastisol liquid, for example a plastisol as marketed under the brand "DARAWAVE" from the company WR GRACE et CO .. After centrifugation, that is to say rotation of the capsule around its axis of revolution to properly spread the plastisol up to 'at the skirt 3, the capsule is passed through a gelation oven comprising a heating zone at approximately 155 ° C. followed by a microwave treatment zone.
- a gelation oven comprising a heating zone at approximately 155 ° C. followed by a microwave treatment zone.
- the plastisol is in the form of an annular seal 9 of gelled plastisol, adhering directly to the sheet 8 of PVC of the washer 5 which itself adheres directly to the bottom 2 of the capsule 1.
- the capsule 1 thus produced ensures, thanks to the complex washer 5, an oxygen impermeability comparable to that of a metal capsule, although the material of the capsule 1 itself (polypropylene) is very permeable to oxygen, and a good mechanical seal with respect to the neck or neck of the container to be capped, thanks to the seal 9 of plastisol which compensates for the manufacturing defects and tolerances of the neck of the container.
- a sheet of complex comprising, in addition, for example a layer of PVDC between the sheet 8 of PVC and the rubber coating 7 of the layer of paper 6.
- the capsule 1 itself could also be produced, in the context of the present invention, in an injectable thermoplastic material other than polypropylene.

Abstract
Description
- la figure 1 est une coupe d'une capsule de bouchage à vis conforme à l'invention;
