Definitions

  • the invention relates to a corkscrew according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • DE-C-344 971 describes such a corkscrew which is designed as a stand device - probably for the counter in restaurants.
  • two shafts are guided, each holding a curved tongue.
  • Lateral longitudinal slots of the bracket guide a cross bolt, on which two angle levers articulated on the bracket each engage via a shorter curved leg.
  • the device is placed on a bottle to be opened and held there by means of a double hinge handle. Then the two tongues are pressed down individually between the cork and the inner wall of the bottle neck. Finally, the two levers should be moved down at the same time so that their shorter legs pull the tongues and the cork out of the bottle.
  • Similar corkscrews are also known from DE-U-74 39 782 and 86 24 741 and from DE-C-811 665.
  • metal tongues are arranged on a one-piece handle - preferably of unequal length - which are inserted between the cork and the bottle neck for use. This is only possible with the help of the second hand, if the diameter of the bottle opening does not correspond to the distance between the free ends of the metal tongues, which must also be inserted by alternately tilting the handle between the cork and bottle neck.
  • the critical limit point is the pushing in of the tongues without also pushing the cork inwards until a reliable frictional engagement with the enclosed cork.
  • the invention has for its object to develop a corkscrew of the type mentioned so that construction and handling are significantly simplified. In doing so, pressing in a relatively loosely seated cork should be avoided as far as possible and the effort required to insert the metal tongues should be reduced.
  • the attachment part is a cylindrical guide sleeve, in which a divided, generally cylindrical shaft body is guided in a longitudinally displaceable manner, which has two semi-cylindrical shaft halves which can be moved individually along flat surfaces, each with a metal tongue at the bottom holder and carry a handle half above, and that the shaft halves each have lower stops to limit the displacement at the upper stops of the guide sleeve.
  • the invention is characterized by an extraordinarily clear structure consisting of only three components.
  • the two halves of the shaft body can be slid in the cylindrical guide sleeve, together or individually along one another. This makes handling very convenient and safe.
  • the shaft body with the metal tongues is already centered on the bottle opening. This enables a sensitive attachment, after which only one half of the shaft is moved down, so the second half of the shaft does not have to be pressed in immediately.
  • the insertion of the metal tongue held on this first shaft half between the cork and the bottle neck is much more reliable than with the more complex, heavy and unwieldy device according to DE-C-344 971.
  • the cork is additionally clamped by the first tongue, what means increased security against being pushed in. The cork can then be pulled out easily by turning it slightly.
  • the guide sleeve according to claim 2 has a centering rim which can be placed on the bottle neck, against which a guide ring which is adapted to the diameter of the bottle opening is set back in the axial direction of the guide sleeve.
  • the guide ring serves as a stop, and at the same time the ends of the metal tongues are aligned precisely with the bottle opening, which greatly facilitates insertion.
  • a further embodiment consists in that the metal tongues are convex inward to the longitudinal axis and rounded concavely in accordance with the bottle opening, if necessary pointed at the free ends and slidably guided along the inner edge of the guide ring.
  • the metal tongues are advantageously made of spring steel with good resilience. They clamp the cork between them with great holding force so that it can be pulled easily.
  • the attachment part is a cylindrical guide sleeve 1, in which a divided, generally cylindrical shaft body is guided so as to be longitudinally displaceable. It has two semi-cylindrical shank halves 2, 3, which are individually movable along one another with flat surfaces and which are displaceably guided in the axial direction of the guide sleeve 1, upper stops 4 being provided in the guide sleeve 1 and lower stops 5 on the shank halves 2, 3 to limit the guide path are.
  • Each of the shaft halves 2, 3 shows a metal tongue 6 or 7. These are arranged at a distance from one another which corresponds to the diameter of bottle openings.
  • the metal tongues 6, 7 projecting in the axial direction of the guide sleeve 1 are convexly curved inwards.
  • the guide sleeve 1 On the bottle side, the guide sleeve 1 has a guide ring 9 which is set back somewhat from the end of the guide sleeve 1 and thereby forms an edge 10 which overlaps the bottle neck.
  • the diameter of the opening 11 of the guide ring 9 corresponds to that of a bottle opening.
  • both shaft halves 2, 3 are pulled upwards by means of the handle halves 13 integral with them.
  • the metal tongues 6, 7 slide along the inner edge of the guide ring 9. If they are pulled all the way up, the free ends 8 of the metal tongues 6, 7 lie approximately in the plane of the guide ring 9 facing the edge 10. As a result of their elasticity, the free ends 8 of the metal tongues 6, 7 lie against the inner edge of the guide ring 9 in such a position that they can be inserted between the bottle neck 12 and a cork 14 located therein by actuating the relevant handle half 13 from the associated shaft half 2 or 3.
  • the metal tongues 6, 7 are rounded concavely about their longitudinal axis (FIG. 3), the radius of curvature corresponding approximately to that of the bottle opening.
  • the two shaft halves 2, 3 are first pulled up by means of their handle halves 13.
  • the free ends 8 of the metal tongues 6, 7 are pressed together by the guide ring 9 in accordance with the diameter of the bottle opening, which causes an additional contact pressure of the metal tongues 6, 7 on the cork 14.
  • the corkscrew is rotated about its longitudinal axis, whereby the cork 14 is loosened in the bottle neck 12 so that it can be safely pulled upwards.
  • the concave design of the metal tongues 6, 7 facilitates such a rotational movement on the one hand and on the other hand ensures the safe entrainment of the cork 14, which is held between the metal tongues 6, 7 with a large contact surface.
  • a cork 14 can be pulled quickly and without contact from the bottle neck 12 using the corkscrew according to the invention.
