Description

The invention is based on a device for holding waste, in particular dog droppings, on a bottom surface with a bag which can be folded flat, the opposite and closable opening edges of which are stiffened by means of reinforcement strips, and with a holder which can be attached from the outside to the opening edge of the bag and is movable by hand to pick up the waste.

Devices of this type are known from European publication 0 176 814. In the known device, the holder engages the upper opening edge of the bag by means of a clamping device which is arranged at the lower end of the holder. A projection, a rag or a fold, which is arranged in the middle of the upper edge of the opening on the outside, is used to grasp the bag by means of the clamping device.

With the help of this and other known devices, dog feces can only be taken up with the help of an additional slide.

The present invention has for its object to provide a device that is easy to handle, that can be manufactured as simply and inexpensively as possible and that enables quick and easy removal of faeces.

This object is achieved in that the holder is designed like pliers and has two mutually movable legs encompassing the bag, the free ends of which can be attached to the bag and the bag has gripping loops on the outside of the two stiffened opening edges, into which the free End of the legs arranged gripping mandrels can be used so that the opening of the bag can be opened and closed by opening and closing the pliers-like holder.

With the aid of this device, the opening of the bag is placed over the waste to be picked up and the waste is taken up into the bag by closing the opening edges. This bag filled with waste can then be removed from the holder and placed in a tightly closed container, e.g. a paper bag with self-adhesive closure.

Both the bag that can be plugged onto the holder and the second, tightly sealable bag can be made from moisture-proof paper or from a rotten plastic.

The holder with the two pliers-like legs and their gripping pins can be made of plastic, pressed cardboard or metal. The two mutually movable and outwardly curved legs of the holder can be connected to one another in an articulated manner at one end, but it is also possible to produce the two mutually movable legs of the holder in one piece from a spring steel wire.

Because the bag with the stiffened edges must be thrown away after each use, a stock of such special bags is necessary when using this device.

The further invention is based on the object of avoiding the use of such special bags and of creating a reusable, easy-to-transport and clean-to-use device which enables inexpensive and hygienic quick removal of faeces. This preferred embodiment of the invention relates to a device for receiving dog excrement which has been covered with a film for this purpose.

This object is achieved, starting from the pliers-like holder, according to the invention in that gripping strips are arranged at right angles to the pivoting plane at the free ends of the pivotable legs of the pliers-like holder and rest against one another when the legs are closed.

With the help of this device, every dog owner can eliminate his dog's feces in the most economical way. Film of suitable size for covering the dog droppings is nowadays available in any quantity from used shopping bags or similar packaging, but also cut plastic blown films that can be added when the device is sold are extremely inexpensive. The device according to the invention enables hygienic recording. By swiveling the legs of the bracket apart, the gripping bars are spaced apart and can be placed on the cover film on both sides of the droppings; when the legs of the bracket are closed, the gripping bars are brought into contact with each other, thereby lifting the manure from the floor and allowing transportation to a waste container, where the device is emptied by spreading the legs apart. The film covering the dog droppings is taken away by the gripping strips when the device is closed and also closed under the droppings, so that the device is not soiled and can be packaged and emptied again after being emptied.
