Definitions
- the invention relates to fusible textile products. It's about of products comprising a textile support to which is applied a layer of fusible polymers.
- these products must be able to be stored after that the textile support has received the polymer layer and they are intended by the effect of the variation of an external parameter, particularly temperature, to become sticky, allowing thus their adhesion to another fabric.
- Iron-on products are now commonly used in the textile industry for example as reinforcement fabrics, their application on linings or draperies allowing modify the characteristics of fabrics improving their hold and nervousness.
- the textile supports used are very varied. They can be woven, knitted or non-woven.
- thermoadhesive layer on its support are many. For many uses, one application per points to maintain great flexibility to the tissues is preferred while for other uses a continuous layer of adhesive better achieves the desired properties.
- the textile support is coated with the fusible substance.
- this coating is the most often a coating by points carried out using a cylinder serious. Iron-on polymers initially in powder form or dough are brought to a temperature that allows them to enter merge and join the medium.
- coating is carried out by transfer, i.e. the polymers fusible are deposited in the form of points by a cylinder of engraving on a carpet treated to be non-adhesive; these points are then transferred to a lower temperature on the textile support.
- the fusible textile product thus obtained is then stored at ambient temperature. It is then necessary that the different layers of this product, in contact, do not adhere to each other other. That is, the fusible textile product must not present "tack". It is therefore necessary that near the temperature ambient, the textile product used is not sticky, i.e. does not exhibit immediate adhesion.
- the fusible textile product is then used by the dressmakers who apply it against other fabrics, draperies or linings, and thus achieve the bonding of the reinforcing fabric on the drapery using a press at pressures from a few decibars to a few bars for relatively short times of the order of 10 to 30 seconds and at temperatures generally above 100 ° C.
- the polymers of the fusible textile product must regain their membership property. However, they should not not have too low a viscosity for too long a time when this operation because otherwise the polymers pass through the textile support or the drapery itself causing returns to the crossings which make the products obtained unattractive and often unusable.
- the finished clothes and therefore in particular the draperies or linings provided with reinforcing fabric must support the different modes of use, washing, ironing ... Bonding the previous stage must therefore withstand difficult atmospheres.
- the method of depositing the fusible material on the substrate textile said by transfer avoids the excessive penetration of the sticky material into the textile substrate.
- the document FR-A-2 606 603 relates to a fusible product comprising a thermo-adhesive material, based on polymers, and means of a chemical nature acting on this material to modify its structure chemical.
- the fusible material has two reactive sites which can both react chemically with reactive materials in presence of a reactive means to form a fusible material modified.
- a crosslinked fusible textile product comprising an agent additional blocked crosslinking, capable of being unlocked when laminating, is not described in this document.
- Document FR-A-2 001 893 relates to an adhesive intended for the production a fusible reinforcing fabric which comprises a polymer having crosslinkable functional groups as well as a blocked crosslinking agent capable of producing crosslinking at relatively high temperatures (140 ° C to 180 ° C). After the deposition, the polymeric layer is substantially non-crosslinked and does not exhibit tack at room temperature.
- Document FR-A-1 357 294 describes the use of a liquid composition based on urethane prepolymers partially blocked by one or more imines, oximes or ketoximes.
- the release of the prepolymer by the effect of an increase in temperature provides permanent adhesion by crosslinking. There is no storage period between the time when the liquid composition is applied on a first support and laminating.
- the object of the present invention is a iron-on textile product, this product being usable in particular as a reinforcement fabric.
- This reinforcement fabric must be able to be laminated easily, without return or crossing and it must be resistant particularly to the agents and processes of cleaning clothes and ironing.
- the invention provides a fusible product of the type comprising a textile support and a thermo-adhesive layer deposited at its area, as defined in claim 1.
- first of the functions can be activated in conditions which do not affect the second function and in particular do not activate it. It is so it is possible to crosslink this adhesive in two separate stages and at different instants freely determined.
- These activation conditions can be the humidity conditions, temperature, ambient pressure, can also be any other value of these parameters, the action of electromagnetic radiation such as ultraviolet, high frequency radiation, the action of agents chemical, electronic bombardment or a combination any of these parameters.
- the essential condition to be respected being that by applying this ambience, the second function reactive is maintained in its initial state.
- This second reactive function which consists of a chemically blocked crosslinking agent, can then be activated so analogous to the activation of the first function under conditions whose influence on the first function has of course not of importance, since this first function has already been activated.
- thermoadhesive layer comprising crosslinkable polymers and having these two separate reactive functions is called layer bireactive thermoadhesive.
- thermoadhesive which composes it can comprise a mixture of at least two polymers, each of which is crosslinkable by means of one of the functions reactive, it can also contain a single polymer, the chain has at least two types of function reacting in different conditions depending on the methods set out above.
- thermoadhesive layer is applied to a textile support. It is applicable to all types of textile support (woven, knitted, non-woven ).
- This application can consist either of a continuous layer or of preferably in a distribution by points. This breakdown geometric being calibrated in a conventional manner and known per se.
- the first reactive function of the fusible layer is activated.
- thermoadhesive This can be achieved by using a two-part iron-on patch in which a crosslinking agent is incorporated into the thermoadhesive before its application.
- This crosslinking agent then results for example in the usual application conditions (temperature, pressure, humidity) polymerization by activation of the first function.
- Activation of the first function can also be obtained in the case of a two-component system as in the case of a single-component by a rise in temperature, pressure or even ultraviolet or high frequency radiation during or after application.
- the fusible product can then be applied to another textile product, lining, interlining or drapery, by applying suitable physical conditions (temperature, pressure, ...) it is made less viscous which allows the realization of membership.
- suitable physical conditions temperature, pressure, ...) it is made less viscous which allows the realization of membership.
- the second reactive function is then activated realizing the crosslinking of the fusible and ensuring its stability.
- crosslinking agent a crosslinking agent with certain functions participate in the final product.
- the crosslinking agent can also be a catalyst, that is to say a compound that will be found in full in its initial state at the end of reaction.
- the first reactive function may consist of an unblocked crosslinking agent with which the fusible polymer is brought into contact before application on the textile support.
- the second reactive function on the contrary being an agent chemically blocked crosslinker which will be activated during application of the product iron-on on the lining, interlining or on the drapery at the user. This activation can be obtained by varying the temperature pressure parameters, by radiation effect electromagnetic such as ultraviolet, high frequency or by the effect of external chemical agent or by any combination of these actions.
- the first reactive function is initially also blocked. It can be activated during the application of polymers to their textile support by the effect of variation of pressure, temperature or by the effect of ultraviolet or high frequency radiation or by any combination of these parameters.
- the second function namely a chemically blocked crosslinking agent
- the latter will be activated, when laminating the fusible product by example on a lining or on a drapery by variation or by the effect of a parameter different from that which activated the first function or by the variation of the same parameter or the same combination of these parameters at a different level.
- thermoadhesive layer applied to the support textile for the realization of the fusible product behave well heard other elements than the only chemical functions of crosslinking mentioned above. They include in particular polymer chains whose nature and functionality are involved in determining the viscosity and adhesion of the fusible in combination with crosslinkable polymers mentioned above.
- the adhesive layer may also include neutral fillers, stabilizers, dyes ...
- the layer is a two-component system comprising a resin and a hardener.
- the resin contains polyols and / or epoxies as well as blocked isocyanates.
- the hardener contains non-isocyanates blocked which mixed with the resin causes a first crosslinking giving a first polyurethane system.
- the second crosslinking is generated during the unlocking of the blocked isocyanate which by acting on the remaining alcohol functions free then gives rise to a second polyurethane system.
- the release temperature depends on the blocking agent. This one can be composed of oximes, oxamates, diketones, caprolacatams, triasoles, imidazolines, phenols ...
- one-component or two-component epoxy resins crosslink to room temperature or by the effect of temperature.
- Mixtures based on acrylics are photocrosslinkable, others are heat sensitive.
- Mixtures based on unsaturated polyesthers are also photocrosslinkable or thermocrosslinkable.
- Encapsulated aziridnes allow the crosslinking of polyamides.
- thermoadhesive products Before their application on the support, these thermoadhesive products are present in the form of more or less viscous pastes.
- thermoadhesive layer comprises a resin, free isocyanates and blocked isocyanates.
- the resin contains hydroxylated polybutadiene and a diol playing the role of chain activator.
- the free isocyanate is IPDI (3.isocyanatomethyl - 3,5,5 - trimethylcyclohesyl isocyanate).
- the free isocyanate reacts with the resin to give a network weakly crosslinked polyurethane and dry at room temperature.
