Definitions

  • the invention relates to a finger protection profile for sectional doors with panels which are pivotally connected to one another by means of a hinge.
  • sectional doors composed of individual panels are known in a variety of configurations in the prior art. They serve in particular as garage doors. When such a sectional door is opened, the individual panels pivot relative to one another in order to be able to be pushed one after the other into the open position of the door (cf. US Pat. No. 4,854,365).
  • the individual panels consist essentially of metal or plastic. Even if sectional doors can be moved fully automatically into the open and closed positions, it often happens in practice that the user tries to support the movement of the door by hand, especially if defects in the drive or in the guidance of the door occur.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a finger protection profile for sectional doors of the type mentioned, which is inexpensive to manufacture.
  • a finger protection profile according to the invention should be able to be installed in known, commercially available panels.
  • the finger protection profile provided according to the invention to achieve this object is characterized in that it can be fastened by means of an anchoring to the spring and has a front piece which, when the panels are not pivoted, is coplanar with the front outer shells of the panels when the sectional door is in the closed state.
  • the finger protection profile can be cast in one piece from plastic and is therefore inexpensive to manufacture. Its installation in the panels of a sectional door requires little material and labor.
  • the finger protection profile according to the invention is provided with an anchor which engages in a recess which is formed in the spring (projection) of the assigned panel.
  • an anchor which engages in a recess which is formed in the spring (projection) of the assigned panel.
  • the finger protection profile according to the invention is provided at least with a cavity and a spherical section which engages in the adjacent groove of the adjacent panel in the closed state of the sectional door in order to ensure a sealing of the sectional door by elastic contact with the components of the adjacent panel.
  • the spherical section can press against an elastic seal which is arranged in the groove of the adjacent panel.
  • a layer of paint is applied to the front piece of the finger protection profile.
  • the plastic material of the finger protection profile itself does not need to be colored, which would reduce the service life of the material.
  • An essential feature of the invention thus consists in the provision of an elastic element between adjacent edges of panels in such a way that a finger that has got caught when the panels are pivoted is not crushed, but is only pressed and pulled out due to the flexibility of the finger protection profile.
  • the sectional door shown in Fig. 1 in a partial section has a plurality of panels, two of which are shown and provided with the reference numerals 10, 12.
  • the two panels 10, 12 are articulated as such and hinged to one another by means of a hinge 14.
  • the two panels 10, 12 are connected to wings 14 'and 14 ⁇ of the hinge 14.
  • the distance between the panels 10, 12 can be varied in the direction of arrow 16. In the prior art, the distance between the panels is less than that shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, so that a groove 28 and a tongue 30 interlock, the tongue 30 abutting a seal 26.
  • the panels 10, 12 each have outer shells 18 and 20, which are filled with an insulation filling 22 and 24, respectively.
  • the two panels 10, 12 are spaced in the direction of arrow 16 such that a finger protection profile 34 fits between the edges of the panels.
  • the finger protection profile 34 engages with an anchoring 38 in a recess 32 which is formed in the spring 30.
  • the anchoring 38 spreading parts 38 ' which is a constricted elastic Grip the opening of the recess 32 in order to achieve a non-positive fastening of the finger protection profile 34 on the panel 12.
  • the finger protection profile 34 is injection molded integrally from plastic. It has a cavity 36 and a front piece 40 which faces the front (visible side) of the sectional door.
  • FIG. 2 shows the arrangement of FIG. 1 in the pivoted state. Compared to the prior art, it requires a much greater awkwardness to pinch the finger between the panels, since the finger protection profile with a spherical section 46 above the cavity 44 not only squeezes the finger due to its elasticity, but also inserts the finger into it largely prevents a critical gap.
  • a finger located on the spherical section 46 is not pinched like pliers, but is only pressed so that it can be pulled out without the risk of injury .
  • the front piece 40 of the finger protection profile 34 In the closed state of the sectional door, the front piece 40 of the finger protection profile 34 according to FIG. 1 lies coplanar with the front surfaces of the outer shells 18, 20 of the panels. This creates a quasi-continuous, smooth visible surface of the sectional door. Since a coloring of the plastic of the finger protection profile 34 could impair the lifespan of the profile, a color layer 42 is applied in front of the front piece 40, which can be designed optionally, in particular in the color of the outer shells 18, 20 of the panels.
  • FIG. 3 shows a section through a conventional panel 12, which has a spring 30 and a recess 32.
  • a seal 48 in the form of an elastic sealing cord is arranged in the recess 32 which is continuous in the longitudinal direction.
  • This sealing cord 48 can be removed so that a finger protection profile according to the invention can be fastened on the panels 12 by means of the anchoring 38.
  • the anchoring 38 is pushed into the recess 32, the spreading part 38 having two expanding jaws' bearing against the inner walls of the recess 32.
  • the opening diameter of the recess 32 is smaller than its largest diameter, so that the anchoring 38 is difficult to pull out of the recess 32.
  • Fig. 6 shows a variant in which the colored profile 50 'is convexly curved on the front, so that the joints of the panels are given a clear profile.
  • the colored profile 50 shown in Fig. 6 ' engages with terminal strips 54, 54' in grooves 52 and 52 'according to Fig. 5.
  • the interchangeable colored profiles 50, 50', the finger protection profile is universally applicable and the sectional doors can be chosen design in color and / or shape.
