Definitions
- the invention relates to a liquid and gas-tight lid pack made of a pot-shaped or bowl-shaped body made of heat-sealable cardboard multi-layer composite material and a cover which can be sealed thereon and made of at least one side heat-sealable plastic, in particular plastic multi-layer composite material, in which the body consists of a blank with a polygonal bottom panel provided with fold lines side panel panels folded up around fold lines with circumferential sealing edge panels for the lid with outer cut edges folded outward about fold lines, parallel to the base panel and consisting of corner panels formed by folding pockets between the side panel panels, each comprising at least two triangular panels delimited by fold lines, each with one triangle tip touches the bottom panel and with at least the triangular tip of the other two triangle tips adjacent to the respective side wall panel touch a sealing edge panel, with these two other triangle tips starting with parallel folding lines crossing the adjacent sealing edge panel.
- Lid packs of this or similar type are used to pack perishable products such as foodstuffs in a durable manner. If necessary, they should also enable the product contained in them to be heated in a stove or the like. Depending on the type of product to be packaged and its treatment for permanent storage and the type of heating for the purpose of consumption, different requirements must be placed on the lid pack:
- lid packs made of sheet metal, glass and full plastic or made of a plastic multilayer composite meet these requirements.
- food packaged in tin cannot be heated in the microwave.
- Glass packs have the disadvantage that they are heavy, bulky and easy to break, especially if they are shaped of a tray in which the food can be served.
- Packs made of full plastic or of a plastic multilayer composite have the disadvantage that they are generally more expensive and their environmental friendliness is critically assessed.
- lid pack of the type mentioned at the beginning (DE 36 12 998 A1), known from practice and patent literature, the body of which is made of a multilayer cardboard plastic material.
- the blank for the body has a complicated shape with incisions and undercuts provided in the corners, which is why complicated knife shapes are required to produce such a blank.
- a lid pack of the type mentioned at the outset is known (DE 23 38 976 C2), in which the fold lines of each triangular field leading from the bottom field to the sealing edge field and facing away from the adjacent side wall field lie outside the interior of the body in the unfolded state of the blank. Incisions are made in the sealing edge fields which allow the blank to be folded in the corners such that the cutting edges lie on the continuous outer edge of the sealing edge fields.
- the disadvantage of this cut is not only that the sealing edge fields in the area of the overlap cannot be formed without incisions, but above all the fact that the overlap is in the corner areas. Since the closure of the package by means of a lid in the corner areas is critical anyway, this makes it even more difficult to close it tightly.
- the invention has for its object to provide a lid pack of the type mentioned, in which the cut for the body is made as simple as possible.
- This object is achieved in that, in the unfolded state of the blank, the fold line of each triangular field leading from the bottom field to the sealing edge field and facing away from the adjacent side wall field lies in the interior of the body and the length of an overlap of the sealing edge fields formed without incisions is equal to the distance from the triangle tips outgoing, parallel fold lines, and that the cut edges of the blank run without incisions such that, in the unfolded state of the blank, all cut edges lie on the continuous outer edge of the sealing edge fields.
- the lid pack according to the invention is environmentally friendly because of the selected cardboard plastic multilayer composite material for the body and, in conjunction with the relatively large overlap areas of the sealed sealing edge fields in the area of the corners of the lid pack, gives the pack sufficient rigidity.
- No cuts with complicated cut edges are required within the set limits of the folding geometry. It depends on the geometry of the body and the folding geometry whether there is more or less or no waste when cutting. In any case, the cut edges are simple, the overlap not in the corners critical for the tight connection of the cover, but in the less critical area of the straight side cut edge. Because of the seamless body and its only outer cut edges, it is effectively prevented that the product packaged in the lid pack is exposed to external influences that impair durability.
- the lid pack is therefore particularly suitable for frozen or short-term food or for aseptically packaged food. Their content can be heated both in a simple oven and when using a metal-free composite in a microwave oven.
- Optimal utilization of the composite material for the lid pack with the simplest cutting of the cut edges of the blank is achieved if the parallel fold lines starting from the triangular tips cut the cut edge of the blank in the area of the side wall panels at a right angle. In this case, all cut edges of the blank are straight, which means that there is no waste when creating the blanks.
- open or closed folding pockets can be provided in the corner fields of the carcasses.
- “Open pockets” are not to be understood as corners that are adjacent to the side wall panels, and “closed pockets” are triangular panels that are adjacent to the side wall panels.
- the condition for open folding pockets is that of the angles of the triangular field which are remote from the ground field, the angle, one leg of which extends from the starting field, on the side wall field adjacent folding line is formed, is greater than the angle, one leg of the folding line between the triangular field and the adjacent sealing edge field and the other leg of that of the parallel folding lines in the sealing edge field is formed by the folding line starting from the bottom panel and not adjacent to the side panel of the triangular field.
- the condition for closed folding pockets is that the two angles mentioned are the same. In order to prevent liquid pockets from forming in the closed folding pockets, which are problematic when heating the contents of the packaging with a microwave, the adjoining triangular and side wall fields can be sealed.
- angles of the two triangular fields determine the inclination of the side walls with respect to the floor. If the side walls are to have the same inclination, then these angles should be selected the same. If they are to have an uneven incline, then they should be chosen unequally. If the angles are not the same, the height of the side wall panels is different.
- the corner fields of a body can be designed differently with the triangular fields.
- the neighboring folding lines of the two triangular fields starting from the bottom field can coincide.
- the fold lines can include a triangular field or square.
- a triangular field its tip can coincide with the tips of the neighboring triangular fields touching the ground field.
- the tips of the two triangular fields adjacent to the side wall fields touching the base field can also be arranged at a distance from one another, which can be achieved both with a triangular field and with a square field. Rectangular and Trapezoidal fields.
- corners with open and closed pockets can be realized using the angles of the side triangular fields and the central triangular or square field.
- the lid of the lid pack can consist of either a sealable cardboard plastic or a multilayer plastic composite - also with an aluminum foil insert.
- lid pack according to the invention if, in the unfolded state of the blank, all cut edges are enclosed on all sides by a surrounding edge of the lid which is sealed on the top and bottom.
- the product packaged in the lid pack can also be sterilized in an autoclave without the gas and / or liquid tightness of the lid pack suffering as a result.
- the lid of the lid pack can also consist of a sealable cardboard plastic multilayer composite material. So that a lid pack with such a lid is not damaged during sterilization in the autoclave and the sealing of the open cut edges of the cut of the body by the encompassing edge of the lid is retained, according to a further embodiment of the invention it is provided that the lid is inserted through a cardboard insert between two barrier layers is reinforced, which extends up to the edge of the lid to be folded. In this way, the cut edge of the lid is closed and thus secured against delamination.
- the cardboard insert overlaps the sealing edge field only over part of its width and that in the area of the sealing edge field free of the cardboard insert, the two interconnected barrier layers have a prepared tear-open opening, which by a weakening line is formed in each of the two barrier layers, the two weakening lines being offset from one another in such a way that the material of the cover splices between the two barrier layers when torn open.
- the requirement that even with a lid reinforced by a cardboard insert the closed lid pack is liquid and vapor tight can be met with the requirement for an easy-to-manufacture lid having a cardboard insert according to an embodiment of the invention in that the blank for the cardboard insert has several Lid is a grid in which the corners of the individual cardboard inlays are connected to one another via webs, wherein each lid comprising the cardboard inlay with the webs, the bilateral barrier layers and the heat-sealing layer facing the body, at least in the corners comprising the webs, also on the side facing away from the body Side is equipped sealable or carries a sealing layer which is sealed to the underside of the sealing edge field when the cover corner is folded inwards. In this way, the cardboard insert is sealed to the outside at the cut edge of the exposed webs, so that no steam can penetrate here and lead to delamination of the cover can.
- lid packs with a rectangular bottom the features of the invention can also be realized in lid packs with a bottom of a different format, for example in a lid pack with a triangular bottom.
- the drawing shows blanks and cutouts of blanks, the fold lines are drawn with dash-dotted lines.
- the lid pack according to FIGS. 1 to 3 in conjunction with FIGS. 19 to 20 consists of a bowl-shaped body K made of sealable cardboard plastic multilayer composite material and a sealed lid D.
- the body K is on one side of a carrier 1 made of cardboard a single-layer barrier layer 3 is laminated on.
- a heat-sealable layer 5 is applied to the barrier layer 3.
- the cardboard insert 6 can also be dispensed with in the case of the cover D if high rigidity of the cover is not important.
- the bowl-shaped body K shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 with open pockets in the corners which was created by unfolding a rectangular blank, consists of a rectangular floor panel 12, adjacent to this floor panel 12 and outwardly inclined to the floor panel 12 side wall panels 13 to 16 outwardly folded sealing edge fields 17 to 20 parallel to the bottom field 12 and corner fields 25 to 28 arranged between the side wall fields 13 to 16.
- This body K is formed by unfolding the blank shown in FIG. 4 and is characterized in that the blank has no incisions and undercuts has in the edge area and all cut edges 29 to 32 of the blank coincide with the outer edges of the sealing edge fields 17 to 24 of the unfolded blank.
- the bottom panel 12 is delimited by four fold lines 33 to 36, to which fold lines 37 to 40 run parallel. Between these parallel fold lines 33 to 40 lie the side wall panels 13 to 16, which are laterally delimited by fold lines 41 to 48.
- the sealing edge panels 17 to 20 adjoining the side wall panels 13 to 16 are delimited on one side by the folding lines 37 to 40 and on the other side by the cutting edges 29 to 32 of the blanks.
- a further fold line 49 runs between the fold lines 41, 42, which, with the two fold lines 41, 42 and a further fold line 50, delimit identical triangular fields 51, 52, which form the corner field 25 .
- a pair of each of the corners of the triangular fields 51, 52 lying on the folding line 50 go in parallel Fold lines 53 to 56, which run through the sealing edge areas 17, 18, 21 and cut the cut edges 29, 30 at a right angle.
- the sum angle of the triangles 53 enclosed by the folding lines 41, 42 is. If it is smaller, the cut edges 29, 30 in the corner area are inwardly displaced (FIG. 7), if it is larger, there is an outward plunge (FIG. 8), and thus there is no waste-free cutting.
- FIGS. 6 to 17 the same reference numerals, increased by the number 100, 200, 300, etc., are used for the elements corresponding to FIGS. 1 to 5. For this reason, only the main differences between the modified exemplary embodiments are discussed below.
- corner fields which all comprise at least two triangular fields, can be assigned to all of the exemplary embodiments.
- there can be another between the two triangular fields Field for example a triangular field with tip type 2) touching the bottom field, or with tip type 3) touching the sealing edge field, or a square field, in particular a type 5 rectangle, or a trapezoid with a short side type 4 adjacent to the bottom field .), or with the long side adjacent to the floor panel type 6.
- corners with open or closed pockets can be obtained from waste-free or waste-containing blanks via the selected geometry of the corner fields, as the further detailed exemplary embodiments show.
- FIGS. 7, 8 differ from those of FIGS. 1 to 5 primarily in that the parallel fold lines 153 to 156 and 253 to 256 do not intersect the cut edges 129, 130, 229, 230 at a right angle, which is why either in the area of the corner fields 121, 157, 158 (sum angle the triangular fields 151.152 ⁇ 53 °) or in the area of the sealing edge fields 217.218 (sum angle of the triangular fields 251.252> 53 °) there is a loss of cut.
- FIGS. 9 to 13 differ from those of FIGS. 1 to 5 primarily in that the adjacent folding lines 349a, 349b of the two triangular fields 351, 352 do not coincide, but instead enclose an isosceles triangular field 300 (basic type 2).
- the tips of the outer triangular fields 351, 352 touching the base field 312 lie together.
- the outer fold lines 353, 356 are flush with the fold lines 341, 342 of the bottom.
- the triangular field is perpendicular to the floor field 312 and the wall fields 313, 314 are inclined outwards relative to the floor field.
- the embodiment of Figure 15 differs from that of the two previous embodiments in that the two angles ⁇ 1, ⁇ 2, which include the fold lines 541,549a, 542,549b of the triangular fields 551,552, are of different sizes. This results in a central triangular field 500 with fold lines 541, 549a, 542, 549b of different lengths and side wall fields 513, 514 of different widths. In the unfolded state, this modified geometry leads to the side wall panels 513, 514 being inclined to different degrees. Because of the aligned folding lines 541, 553 and 542, 566, the pockets delimited on one side by the triangular fields 551, 552 remain closed, as in the two previous exemplary embodiments. Also, because of the parallel fold lines 553 to 556 which cut the cut edge of the blank at a right angle, the cut remains waste-free.
- the exemplary embodiment of FIG. 16 differs from that of FIGS. 9 to 14 primarily in that the corners of the triangular fields 651, 652 touching the bottom field 612 are arranged at a distance from one another (basic type 5).
- the rectangular field 600 is perpendicular to the floor field 612, while the side wall fields 614 are inclined outwards.
- FIG. 17 is modified from that in FIG. 16 in that the square field is a trapezoidal field and the folding lines 741, 753, 742, 756 are aligned. Because of the aligned fold lines, the pockets in the corners are closed when unfolded.
- FIG. 18 differs from that of FIG. 16 primarily in that between the outer triangular fields 851, 852 a triangular field 800 is inserted which, in contrast to the exemplary embodiments in FIGS. 13, 14, is rotated by 180 so that it has two tips touches the bottom panel 812 and with a point the fold line 850 of the outer triangular panels 851,852.
- the side wall panels 813, 814 are perpendicular to the base panel 812, the pockets are open and the triangular panel 800 is inclined towards the inside.
- the fold line leading from the base panel to the sealing edge panel and facing away from the adjacent side wall panel in the exemplary embodiment of FIG. 5, the fold line 39 lies in the interior of the body.
- the fields lie between the parallel folding lines starting from the tips of the triangular fields, in the exemplary embodiment of FIG. 5 the fields 57, 58, in the covered state not in the area of the corner fields 21, but in the area of the sealing edge areas 17, 18 with the straight cutting edges 29 , 30
- FIGS. 23 to 25 show a cover with cardboard insert 6 that is simple in terms of production technology. Segments are cut out of a cardboard web in such a way that cardboard inserts 6.0 are formed which are connected to one another via webs 6.1 provided at their corners, so that a grid is formed. A barrier layer 7.0.8.0 is then laminated onto this grid on both sides. A heat-sealable layer 9.0 is applied to the side of the body K facing the sealing edge field. A corresponding heat-sealable layer 9.1 is applied to the back at least in the region of the end sections of the webs 6.1. Then the individual lids are separated.
- the corners of the lid blank Before a lid is placed on a body, the corners of the lid blank must be folded inwards by fold lines 6.2. Thereafter, the edge 6.3 projecting beyond the sealing edge field of the body K can be wrapped around the sealing edge field with the bevelled corners in this case and heat-sealed on the top and bottom sides with the sealing edge field, as shown in FIG. 25.
- the beveled corner required in this case can also be used for lids that have no cardboard webs in the area of the edges.
- rectangular and rounded corners are shown. If the edge of the cover is free of cardboard inserts, a rounded corner is preferred, over which the protruding cover edge, which is made entirely of plastic, can then be pulled around without forming strong folds.
