Definitions

  • the invention relates to a special waste container, in particular for holding flammable liquids, which consists of an outer container and an inner container which can be removed to form an intermediate space and which has a closed wall with respect to the outer container.
  • Special waste containers for holding flammable liquids must meet certain requirements in accordance with the technical rules for flammable liquids (TRbF 143).
  • the invention relates in particular to a special waste container that meets the requirements for a "portable container” according to rule TRbF 143, which large packaging with a volume of up to 450 liters for the transport and storage of flammable liquids of hazard classes AI, AII and B, as well as hazard class AIII for Substances that are heated at or above their flash point.
  • the inner container which is heavy when filled, must be lifted out of the outer container - usually by hand - in order to then also be tilted by hand for emptying.
  • it has also proven to be disadvantageous that too large gaps are formed between the cover of the outer container and the cover plate of the inner container on the one hand and the side walls of the outer and inner container.
  • gases that are heavier than air can collect in them and, when the outer container is opened, endanger the operating personnel.
  • the inner container of this known double-walled container is made in one piece and held in a frame construction that can be inserted into the outer container. Due to its one-piece construction, the known inner container is not readily galvanized, so that it only has appropriate layers of lacquer to protect it against aggressive transport goods. However, a container painted in this way is not as resistant to aggressive goods as a hot-dip galvanized container.
  • the cover plate of the inner container simultaneously forms the cover plate of the outer container that can be placed in a sealing manner.
  • the entire special waste container can be lifted, for example by means of a forklift, and tilted for emptying without the inner container having to be removed from the outer container beforehand. Furthermore, it is prevented that any filling material flowing next to the filling opening inadvertently flows into the intermediate space between the containers.
  • the edge pressing into the seal can be formed by a flat iron running around the upper edge of the outer container.
  • the inner container will be able to be fixed to the outer container by way of hooks distributed over the circumference, into which holding eyes which can be fixed on the outer container engage.
  • the length of these eyelets can be adjusted so that the sealing seat of the flat iron can be adjusted in the rubber seal, which is preferably made of rubber.
  • a reinforcing profile can run around on the outside, on which the retaining eyes can advantageously be fixed.
  • the circumferential reinforcement profile can be welded in the ceilings with elbows, which form holding pieces for foot pieces of the stackable containers.
  • this insert rod makes it easier for the operating personnel to check whether liquid has accumulated in the intermediate space, for example as a result of a leak in the inner container, so that the inner container is replaced by a replacement inner container must become.
  • gases located in the intermediate space can be removed in a targeted manner without endangering the operating personnel.
  • the inner container can stand on feet, so that an intermediate space is also formed between the underside of the inner container and the bottom of the outer container.
  • the bottom plate of the outer container welded to the side walls can be provided with a U-shaped profile in which recesses can be provided for receiving forklift tines.
  • the special waste container 10 essentially consists of an outer container 12 and an inner container 14 which can be inserted into it and locked with it.
  • the outer container 12 is drawn in solid lines while the inner container 14 inserted into this is shown in dashed lines.
  • An intermediate space 13 is formed between the outer container 12 and the inner container 14.
  • An intermediate space is also formed between the inside of the inner container 14 and the bottom of the outer container 12 by corresponding feet 34 of the inner container.
  • the outer container 12 is designed as a cuboid stack-shaped container and corresponds essentially to the structure known from DE-PS 34 32 830 or from DE-PS 34 48 140. It accordingly has a base plate welded to the cambered side walls, which is provided with a U-shaped profile 36, which has recesses 38 for receiving forklift tines. Foot pieces 30 are arranged below the circumferential U-shaped profile 36. Near the upper edge of the outer container 12, a reinforcing profile 26 runs around the outside, which is welded at the corners to protruding angle pieces 28, which at the same time form holding pieces for the previously described foot pieces 30 of the stackable outer containers.
  • the outer container 12 differs from the stackable rectangular container known from DE-PS 34 32 830 and DE-PS 34 48 140 in particular in that the removable cover plate 16 simultaneously forms the cover plate firmly connected to the inner container 14. When the cover plate 16 is removed from the outer container, the inner container 14 is thus simultaneously removed.
  • the structure of the inner container 14 can be seen in particular in FIG. 2.
  • the cover plate 16 protrudes flange-shaped over the side walls of the inner container 14.
  • a cover 17 is arranged centrally on the cover plate and can be pivoted open via a hinge (not shown) in order to open a filling or emptying opening of the waste special container 10.
  • the pivotable cover 17 can be secured by thumbscrews 21 screwed onto pivoted pivot bolts 19.
  • a dipstick 32 which runs essentially parallel to a wall of the inner container 14, is inserted into an opening arranged in the protruding edge region of the cover plate 16.
  • the seal between the inner and outer containers 14 and 12 is shown in the assembled state of the special waste container 10.
  • the cover plate 16 is welded to the walls of the inner container 14.
  • the cover plate 16 forms a double-edged edge zone, in which a circumferential seal 18, which is preferably made of rubber, is enclosed below the cover edge.
  • a flat iron 20 which is welded all around at the upper edge of the outer container 12 is pressed into the seal 18.
  • the inner container has hooks 22 distributed over the circumference, into which holding eyes 24 which can be fixed on the outer container 12 engage.
  • the eyelets 24 can be moved into a latching position by means of a handle 27 which can be pivoted about a pivot point 25.
  • the articulation point 25 is formed on a tab 23 which is molded onto the reinforcement profile 26.
  • the reinforcement profile 26 is formed by an encircling L-profile welded to the outer wall of the outer container 12 and open towards the bottom.
  • Such a special waste container 10 can be manufactured in a simple manner using already known and existing assemblies. It is particularly advantageous that an inner container which leaks, for example as a result of corrosion, can be exchanged without problems.
  • the space between the inner container 14 and the outer container 12 can be checked at any time by the dipstick 32 for any leaked liquid. Via the dipstick opening, this intermediate space can advantageously be vented before the inner container is removed, so that it does not endanger the operating personnel.
