- Calcium carbonate pigment 100 parts 5% Aqueous solution of polycarboxylic acid dispersant 20 parts 5% Aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol 300 parts Styrene-butadiene latex (brand name "SN-307", product of Sumitomo Naugatuck Co., Ltd., solids content 48%) 20 parts Water 40 parts Using a coating rod, the coating composition was applied to one surface of wood-free paper, weighing 50 g/m2, in the usual manner in an amount of 7 g/m2 on dry basis. After drying the coating, the coated paper was falendered to obtain pigment-coated paper.
- Table 5 showing the characteristics of the heat-sensitive recording paper thus prepared indicates that the paper retained substantially the same whiteness before and after the heating of the paper, and was outstanding in anti-fogging property and resistance to light. Further, the paper had sufficiently high effect to remove residue.
- Comparative coating compositions for forming an intermediate layer were prepared in the same manner as in Example II except that the comparative calcium carbonates obtained in Comparative Examples 1 to 5 were used. Comparative heat-sensitive paper having an intermediate layer was obtained in the same manner as in Example II using each of the comparative coating compositions. The characteristics of the heat-sensitive recording paper thus obtained were shown in Table 5, which also shows the result achieved using known calcium carbonate (i) similarly.
- the calcium carbonate pigment of the present invention is excellent not only in anti-fogging property but in resistance to light in comparison with known calcium carbonate pigments.

Claims (16)
- Calciumcarbonatpigment für wärmeempfindliches Aufzeichnungspapier, wobei das Pigment eine spezifische Oberfläche gemäß BET von 17 bis 55 m²/g, eine Ölabsorption von 90 bis 220 ml/100 g, ermittelt nach dem Ogura-Verfahren, und eine Oberflächenacidität des Festkörpers, wiedergegeben durch die Gleichung (Z):
besitzt, in der x eine spezifische Oberfläche gemäß BET (m²/g) und y eine Oberflächenacidität des Feststoffs (»mol/g) ist. - Calciumcarbonatpigment gemäß Anspruch 1, das eine spezifische Oberfläche gemäß BET von 19 bis 55 m²/g besitzt.
- Verfahren zur Herstellung des Calciumcarbonatpigments gemäß Anspruch 1 für wärmeempfindliches Aufzeichnungspapier, welches die Schritte umfaßt:(i) Zugabe eines Calciumcarbonat-Oberflächenbehandlungsmittels zu einer wäßrigen Suspension eines Calciumcarbonats mit einer spezifischen Oberfläche gemäß BET von 17 bis 55 m²/g, wobei das Oberflächenbehandlungsmittel mindestens ein Mitglied, ausgewählt aus der Gruppe, bestehend aus einem Hydroxid eines Erdalkalimetalls, einem Hydroxid eines Alkalimetalls, einem Carbonat eines Alkalimetalls, einem Bicarbonat eines Alkalimetalls, Natriumaluminat, Aluminiumacetat und einem Essigsäuresalz eines C₄₋₁₄- aliphatischen Amins, ist und(ii) Rühren der Mischung.
- Verfahren gemäß Anspruch 3, worin das Calciumcarbonat eine spezifische Oberfläche gemäß BET von 19 bis 55 m²/g besitzt.
- Verfahren gemäß Anspruch 3, worin das Oberflächenbehandlungsmittel in einer Menge von 0.1 bis 5 Gew.-Teilen, pro 100 Gew.-Teile Calciumcarbonat, verwendet wird.
- Verfahren gemäß Anspruch 3, worin das Oberflächenbehandlungsmittel in einer Menge von 0.2 bis 4 Gew.-Teilen, pro 100 Gew. -Teile Calciumcarbonat, verwendet wird.
- Beschichtungszusammensetzung zur Herstellung einer wärmeempfindlichen Aufzeichnungsschicht eines wärmeempfindlichen Aufzeichnungspapiers, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Zusammensetzung 5 bis 60 Gew.-% des Calciumcarbonatpigments gemäß Anspruch 1 enthält, bezogen auf die gesamten Feststoffe.
- Beschichtungezusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 7, welche, berechnet als Feststoffe, umfaßt:
3 bis 10 Gew.-% eines Basisfarbstoffs, 15 bis 50 Gew.-% eines Farbentwicklers, 6 bis 30 Gew.-% eines chromogenen Empfindlichkeitseinstellungsmittels, 16 bis 22 Gew.-% eines Bindemittels und 5 bis 60 Gew.-% des Calciumcarbonatpigments gemäß Anspruch 1, bezogen auf die gesamten Feststoffe. - Beschichtungezusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 7, welche, berechnet als Feststoffe, umfaßt:
5 bis 10 Gew.-% eines Basisfarbstoffs, 20 bis 40 Gew.-% eines Farbentwicklers, 10 bis 30 Gew.-% eines chromogenen Empfindlichkeitseinstellungsmittels, 16 bis 20 Gew.-% eines Bindemittels und 10 bis 55 Gew.-% des Calciumcarbonatpigments gemäß Anspruch 1, bezogen auf die gesamten Feststoffe. - Beschichtungszusammensetzung zur Herstellung einer Zwischenschicht zwischen einer wärmeempfindlichen Aufzeichnungsschicht eines wärmeempfindlichen Aufzeichnungspapiers und dessen Träger, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Zusammensetzung ein Bindemittel in einer Menge von 5 bis 40 Gew.-Teilen, pro 100 Gew.-Teile des Calciumcarbonatpigments gemäß Anspruch 1, berechnet als Feststoffe, enthält.
- Wärmeempfindliches Aufzeichnungspapier, welches einen Träger und eine auf diesem gebildete wärmeempfindliche Aufzeichnungsschicht umfaßt und welche das Calciumcarbonatpigment gemäß Anspruch 1, ein chromogenes Empfindlichkeitseinstellungsmittel, einen farblosen bis schwach gefärbten Basisfarbstoff, einen Farbentwickler, der den Farbstoff veranlaßt, beim Erwärmen eine Farbe zu erzeugen, und ein Bindemittel enthält.
- Wärmeempfindliches Aufzeichnungspapier gemäß Anspruch 11, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es erhalten wird durch Aufbringen der Beschichtungszusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 8 auf den Träger und Trocknen der Überzugsschicht.
- Wärmeempfindliches Aufzeichnungspapier gemäß Anspruch 11, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es erhalten wird durch Aufbringen der Beschichtungszusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 9 auf den Träger und Trocknen der Überzugsschicht.
- Wärmeempfindliches Aufzeichnungspapier, welches umfaßt:(i) einen Träger, (ii) eine auf diesem gebildete Zwischenschicht, die das Calciumcarbonatpigment gemäß Anspruch 1 enthält, und (iii) eine auf der Zwischenschicht gebildete wärmeempfindliche Aufzeichnungsschicht, welche das Calciumcarbonatpigment gemäß Anspruch 1, ein chromogenes Empfindlichkeitseinstellungsmittel, einen farblosen bis schwach gefärbten Basisfarbstoff, einen Farbentwickler, der den Farbstoff veranlaßt, beim Erwärmen eine Farbe zu erzeugen, und ein Bindemittel enthält.
- Wärmeempfindliches Aufzeichnungspapier gemäß Anspruch 14, welches umfaßt:(a) einen Träger, (b) eine Zwischenschicht, gebildet durch Aufbringen der Beschichtungszusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 10 auf den Träger, um eine Zwischenschicht zu bilden, und Trocknen der Überzugsschicht, und (c) eine wärmeempfindliche Aufzeichnungsschicht, gebildet durch Aufbringen der Beschichtungszusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 8, um eine wärmeempfindliche Aufzeichnungsschicht auf der Zwischenschicht zu bilden, und Trocknen der Überzugsschicht.
- Wärmeempfindliches Aufzeichnungspapier gemäß Anspruch 14, welches umfaßt:(a) einen Träger, (b) eine Zwischenschicht, gebildet durch Aufbringen der Beschichtungszusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 10 auf den Träger, um eine Zwischenschicht zu bilden, und Trocknen der Überzugsschicht, und (c) eine wärmeempfindliche Aufzeichnungsschicht, gebildet durch Aufbringen der Beschichtungszusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 9, um eine wärmeempfindliche Aufzeichnungsschicht auf der Zwischenschicht zu bilden, und Trocknen der Überzugsschicht.
