Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a jewelry insert for artificial fingernails.
  • artificial fingernails are offered by the cosmetics industry in an enormous variety of different shapes, colors and sizes. They are glued onto the natural nails and are intended to contribute to a well-groomed appearance of the wearer's fingers.
  • Such artificial fingernails are usually very long and then protrude about 5 to 15 mm beyond the fingertip.
  • Artificial nails have become known which are made of transparent plastic and include a magnifying glass made in one piece from this plastic material in the tip of the fingernail. Such a magnifying glass acts as jewelry and can also serve as a reading aid. This idea stimulated the desire to wear even more expensive and actual jewelry as an ornament on the tips of the artificial fingernails.
  • Figure 1 shows a jewelry insert in a side view
  • Figure 2 shows the jewelry insert in a front view
  • Figure 3 shows the jewelry insert inserted into a fingernail, seen from the side;
  • Figure 4 shows the jewelry insert inserted into a fingernail, seen from the front
  • FIG. 5 shows a jewelry insert designed as a magnifying glass
  • FIG. 1 shows a jewelry insert according to the invention viewed from the side. It is intended to be inserted into a receiving hole in the front area of an artificial fingernail. For this purpose, it has means for immovable use in such a receiving hole. According to the invention, these means are given in that the jewelry insert forms a cylindrical base 1 in the central part, which therefore has a circular cross section.
  • This upper part 2 of the jewelry insert, which is seated on the base 1, can represent the jewelry itself, in that it is worked out in the form of a goldsmith's work from the upper side thereof.
  • the top can also have a flat or convex free surface, which is suitable for subsequent engraving.
  • the upper part is designed as a jewelry carrier or jewelry holder. For this purpose, it has a blind hole in which the jewelry or gem 4 is inserted.
  • the side surface of the upper part 2 is slightly inclined towards the inside, so that a cone is formed. The diameter of the cone tapers to a dimension that is smaller than that of the base diameter.
  • the base 1 has a foot 5, which in turn slightly projects above the base 1 with its upper edge 6 in the radial direction. The two edges 3, 6 thus run all around along the outer surface of the base and describe two S-curves connected to each other.
  • Figure 2 shows the same jewelry insert seen from the front.
  • the conical outside of the jewelery upper part 2 and the gemstone 4 inserted at the top are clearly recognizable.
  • the lower edge 3 of the upper part 2 runs parallel to the upper edge 6 of the base foot 5.
  • Both edges 3, 6 are bent by a radius that corresponds to that corresponds to the cross-sectional curvature of the artificial fingernail into which the jewelry insert is intended to be inserted.
  • the jewelry insert can be pressed from below through a prepared hole in the artificial fingernail.
  • the artificial fingernail is stretched or spread somewhat when the jewelry insert is pressed in, as a result of which the radius of curvature of its transverse curvature is somewhat enlarged.
  • the hole in the fingernail is slightly enlarged and the jewelry insert can be pressed completely through the hole with its conical upper part 2.
  • the fingernail After passing the edge 3 of the upper part 2, the fingernail then snaps into the groove 7 formed by that edge 3, the wall of the cylindrical base 1 and the edge 6 of the base foot 5.
  • the stretching or spreading of the fingernail is relaxed again and the jewelry insert is now firmly and immovably in the nail hole.
  • the edges 3 and 6 lie on the nail material and hold the jewelry insert firmly.
  • FIG. 3 shows the jewelry insert inserted into an artificial fingernail 8 in a view from the side.
  • the jewelry insert is usually inserted into the nail 8 on the small finger 9, since it is least stressed there and the nail 8 of the little finger 9 also has the most delicate effect.
  • jewelry inserts can also be produced whose edge curvature is larger and which are then suitable for being inserted into the flatter shaped fingernails for the other fingers, even for the thumbs.
  • Figure 4 shows the jewelry insert used in a view from the front. It can be seen here that the edges 3, 6 of the upper part 2 and base foot 5 follow the nail curvature beautifully and therefore the jewelry insert is held securely in the nail hole.
  • the jewelry insert can also be designed as a magnifying glass 10.
  • Its upper part 11, as well as the base and base base, are hollow cylindrical through a central bore and a small magnifying glass 10 is inserted into the interior of this cylinder.
  • the magnifying glass may be helpful in deciphering the small print. One then only needs to move the corresponding finger over the text passage and the letters can be seen enlarged through the magnifying glass, as is also shown in FIG. 5.
  • the base foot of the jewelry insert according to the invention can also consist of a separate part which can be plugged onto the base from below or inserted into the base, means 14, 15 being present on the base 12 and base foot 13, which can be positively locked into one another
  • the upper part 11 is made advantageously made of metal and is integrally connected to the base 12. It does not necessarily have to be tapered towards the top. On the contrary, the upper part 11 can have the shape shown, for example, or even grow significantly in diameter towards the top. This upper part 11 is then inserted with its base 12 from above into the hole in the nail.
  • the base 12 is formed by a tube section, with recesses 14 being provided in the tube wall close to its lower edge.
  • the separate base foot 13 forms a closed cover, which can be made of plastic, for example.
  • This cover 13 may be flat when not in use, but can be bent due to its elasticity.
  • Elastic extensions 15 in the form of pipe wall segments are molded onto the top of this elastic cover. These extensions 15 each have an abutment hook 16 on the outside thereof, which snaps into a recess 14 in the tube wall of the base 12 when the cover 13 is inserted into the interior of the base 12. Since the elastic cover 13 wants to relax after its curved position has been inserted, the barbs are pulled down and thus pull the upper part 11 fully down onto the nail surface. This creates a positive connection between cover 13 and upper part 11.
