Definitions
- the invention relates to a clip-on tooth tip for a loader bucket with a curved top, a bottom side, which has a flat front section when viewed from the side and an adjoining curved rear section and whose front flat section forms a front cutting edge with the top, two has connection means in the form of a cavity receiving a shaft for connecting the tooth tip to the blade between the top and the bottom side.
- tooth tips are subject to heavy wear and therefore have replaceable tooth tips.
- the cheapest form of tooth tips is wedge-shaped with straight side surfaces. This shape triggers great frictional forces when the ground is broken open, which is why the machine is extremely powerful must be trained.
- a tooth has already been proposed for a wheel excavator (US Pat. No. 4,642,920), the shaft of which can be used in a U-shaped socket on a bucket.
- wheel excavators are usually used to clear rocky rock and are equipped with about fifteen spoons running on a circular arc, on the three sides of which nine identical teeth are provided.
- Each tooth has an upper side which, seen from the side, consists of a straight section adjoining the tooth tip and a concave section adjoining this section, a bottom side which, seen from the side, has a flat front section and an adjoining section bent rear portion and the front flat portion forms a front cutting edge with the top, two side surfaces extending between the top and the bottom side, which are bent centrally outwards, and provided with a back, a first section adjoining the cutting edge the upper side is converging when viewed from above and the upper and lower sides have depressions.
- Such a tooth is guided in and out of the ground on a circular arc section and may be suitable for a scratching excavation or stripping movement. However, he cannot improve the digging performance of a loader shovel.
- Document US-A-4 321 762 shows teeth on an excavator bucket beveled side surfaces. Further suggestions for the design of the teeth can be found in the documents US-A-4 123 861, US-A-4 251 933 or US-A-4 470 219. But all solutions disclosed in the aforementioned documents improve the penetration of the teeth the ground not significantly. In our EP-A1-0 411 486, which is to be taken into account with regard to the novelty, a shape for the tooth tips is already proposed which enables the tooth tips to easily penetrate into the ground.
- the penetration of the tooth tips into the ground and thus the digging performance of the blade is substantially improved in that the curved rear section of the bottom side is convex, a first section of the upper side adjoining the cutting edge converges from above, the upper side from the side seen concave, the bottom side from the front cutting edge to the back from below converging continuously and each side surface is concave.
- the convex section of the base allows material to be relieved when the bucket is tilted upwards.
- the relatively long flat portion of the bottom creates a horizontal sole surface so that the blade is held in a flat surface.
- the converging portion of the top causes a force downward on the tooth tip and on the blade when the blade is moved horizontally.
- a second section extending to the rear and diverging section can also be connected to the first section of the upper side.
- a loading shovel 10 can be seen, which is provided on the front side with a plurality of cutting teeth with replaceable tooth tips 12.
- the tooth tips serve to break up the floor and are at a transverse distance from one another.
- the bucket 10 is connected to a loader 13 via a linkage 14.
- the tooth tips 12 are placed on tooth holders, which in turn are firmly connected to the front cutting edge of the blade 10.
- the tooth tips 12 have cavities 18 which are open towards the back of the tooth tips. The tooth tips can thus be pushed onto the projecting tooth holders and fastened in a conventional manner.
- Each tooth tip 12 has an upper side 20 which is concave, a lower side 22 which has a first flat section 23 and an adjoining convex section 24, and two side surfaces 26.
- the concave upper side 20 and the flat section 23 of the lower side 22 intersect and thereby form a front cutting edge 28.
- the back 30 of each tooth tip 12 is provided with fastening means for connection to the tooth holder. This includes the cavity 18.
- the flat first section 23 of the bottom side 22 is located lower than the bottom of the blade, which, however, cannot be seen in FIG. 1 of the drawing.
- the convex portion 24 of the bottom 22 allows the blade 10 to be tilted more easily. A sharp approach or angle would make this difficult.
- the top 20 is hourglass-like configured, as can be seen in FIG. 2 in particular from the side edges 40 which form the upper side 20 with the side surfaces 26.
- Fig. 2 shows, when looking at the top from the front cutting edge 28 towards the back 30, that the top 20 first converges and then diverges, creating the hourglass-like configuration.
- the concave configuration of the upper side 20 with reference to FIG. 3 generates a pressure acting on the teeth downwards in use, so that the blade can be held in a horizontal position more easily when it travels through the material.
- the flat section 23 of the bottom side 22 results in a horizontal sole for the tooth or its tooth tip 12, which further supports the flat or horizontal movement of the blade.
- the flat section 23 of the bottom side 22 is widest at the cutting edge 28 or widened outwards and tapers continuously up to the back of the tooth tip 12.
- the side surfaces 26 between the upper side 20 and the lower side 22 are formed like plowshares, so that concave sides are formed.
