- the most common forms of printing in offset printing are the pre-coated aluminum plates, the great advantage of which is the simplicity and speed of manufacture, or the multi-metal plates, which mostly consist of three metals (trimetal), generally using aluminum or sheet steel as the carrier metal. These types are particularly suitable for larger print runs and high loads. In addition, their good surface properties can be significantly improved by additional anodization.
- this printing form has fitting bores on two opposite edges for the fitting pins of a clamping device of the printing form cylinder.
- the printing form is centered on the dowel pins and hooked into a cylinder channel with the leading edge, which was previously bent over.

- the invention is not limited to a printing form which is formed into a sleeve by means of a weld seam. It is also conceivable to establish the connection between the beginning and end of the printing form by means of an adhesive, for example the beginning of the printing form being glued to half of a longitudinal saddle, the end of the printing form glued to the other half of the longitudinal saddle and the joints from the beginning and end are additionally glued. Then the sleeve-shaped printing form together with the saddle is pushed onto the forme cylinder.
