Definitions

  • the present invention relates to shoes whose closure of the instep is effected by pressurization using a clamping device of at least one outer flap overlapping on at least one inner flap so to ensure the mutual approximation of said flaps and thus modify the volume of the footwear in order to tighten the foot and relates in particular to a sealing means of such a closure.
  • Such a construction is a certain improvement with respect to the "free" tongues, that is to say which are simply attached or come from the toe; in fact, due to the geometry of the traditional tongues clearly separating them from the front of the upper (shell base), they cannot truly ensure the waterproofness of the shoe. This is the reason why it is judicious to connect the edges of the tongues with those of the opening of the shell base as in the example of this document FR 2 022 964. It will be noted that the use of a such sealing means, molded in one piece with the upper of the shoe, is, in this type of construction, relatively easy because there is no real overlap edge to edge of the tongue with the edges of the upper placed opposite.
  • these flaps are determined to cover the area of the instep up to that of the forefoot close to the toes, that is, the toe.
  • the entrance to this slot is shown by the position of the free edge end of the outer flap with respect to the wall opposite the inner flap and therefore extends at a distance more or less close to the median longitudinal axis of the shoe in the direction of its length, and in the direction of its width, on the front part of said flaps which are superimposed transversely to this longitudinal axis coming at least partially projecting from the top of the shoe toe by their respective edges.
  • the tightness of the closure of this type of ski boot is obtained laterally by plating the outer tongue on the inner tongue and, according to the improvement of the invention, by adding a jointing element of the bellows type which is disposed at the front part of the lens close to the end of the shoe in correspondence with the transverse ends of the projecting flaps.
  • This joining element or bellows is disposed on the inner side of the shell base and is connected edge to edge with the edge of the flaps only in the area of the toe.
  • the tightening device is independent of the covering means. Indeed, whether it is open or closed, the sealing can only be achieved when the covering means is closed on the clamping device using its own closing device constituted, in this example, by a zipper.
  • Such an arrangement of the covering and sealing means proves to be constraining because it is necessary, on the one hand, to clear the opening-closing zone of the shoe to access the tightening device, and on the other hand, to close this area to ensure tightness.
  • the covering means extends above the tightening device, the sealing is not achieved at the level of the parts of the shoe tightened by lacing, and the introduction of snow, gravel, etc ..., is made possible with each opening-closing operation of the shoe.
  • the present invention aims to achieve a seal from the outside of the closure of a ski boot with "traditional entry” comprising transverse flaps which join by overlap and which are subjected to the action of at least one clamping device.
  • the invention relates to a ski boot comprising at least one opening-closing zone which is constituted by at least two flaps relatively flexible, provided with a sealing means, which join by overlap, one going towards the inside of the shoe, while the other remains on the outside of the latter, over the first flap and which are controlled in proximity to each other and to each other by at least one tightening device connecting them in the closed position of the shoe.
  • the flaps are oriented transversely to the longitudinal axis of the shoe and are controlled in proximity to one another and to each other by at least one clamping device of a known type such as " tensioner-loop ",” tensioner-cable ", etc ......... connecting them in the closed position of the shoe.
  • the sealing means can advantageously be sandwiched between, on one side, the base of a hook and, on the other side, the base of a rack with which the said cooperates. hook with a loop attached to it.
  • the flexible sealing means is inextensible and, in this case, the fold that it forms inside the shoe has a developed length at least corresponding to that of the spacing minimum of the flaps when the latter are separated to make the opening of the shoe.
  • said means is advantageously fixed, for example by gluing, at the end of the free edge of the outer flap on the one hand, and close to the free edge of the inner flap so that in the natural release position of said flaps the connection point located at the end of the free edge of the outer flap always exceeds the connection area located on the inner flap. It follows from this arrangement that the part of flexible material of the sealing means which extends between the two connections is urged to undulate more on the side of the internal connection and therefore to remain under the external flap.
  • the sealing means is then essentially connected to the outside of the shoe and to the inner flap at a sufficient distance from the free end of the outer flap to allow the relative sliding of said flaps when they are brought as close together as possible by means of the tightening device connecting them in the closed position of the shoe.
  • FIG. 1 represents, in perspective view, a so-called alpine ski boot with traditional entry provided with a sealing means according to the invention arranged on the shell base.
  • FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the shell base of the shoe illustrated in FIG. 1.
  • Figures 3 and 4 are views, in cross section along line III - III, of the shoe of Figure 1 respectively showing the closure of the shell base and a natural release position "which may correspond to the opening of the hull base.
  • Figure 5 is a schematic sectional view, still along the line III-III, of the shoe of Figure 1 showing another embodiment of the sealing means according to the invention.
  • Figure 6 is a view, in detail, of Figure 4 showing a method of fixing the sealing means on the flaps of the shell base.
  • the flaps 9 and 10 are oriented transversely to the longitudinal axis 11 of the shoe and are ordered in proximity to one another and to one another, as can be seen with reference to the figures 3 and 4, by at least one clamping device 12.
  • This clamping device 12 is, in this construction case, constituted by a tensioning lever 13 provided with a hooking member 14, such as a hook, which is intended to cooperate with at least one of a succession of notches 15 which is provided with a rack 16 to ensure the connection of the flaps 9 and 10 between them in the closed position of the shoe.
  • the sealing means 8 obtained in a flexible and waterproof material, is attached to the outside of the shoe and substantially follows the contour of the profile of the free edge 9 'of the outer flap 9, returns towards the interior of the shoe by forming a fold 17, and then extends over the external surface of the internal flap 10 approximately up to the level of the tensioning lever 13.
  • the gap 18 for covering the flaps 9 and 10 in the closed position, FIG. 3, is thus closed by the sealing means 8 which then has a substantially zigzag profile.
  • the sealing means 8 can be made integral with the outside of the shoe by any known assembly means, such as by gluing, but can advantageously be fixed using the fixing rivets 19 of the base 13 'of the tensioning lever 13 and of the base 16' of the rack 16.
  • the sealing means 8 is then sandwiched between said bases 13 'and 16' and the surface exterior of the flaps 9 and 10 coming from the shell base 1.
  • the sealing means 8 is advantageously fixed on the one hand, at the end 20 of the free edge 9 'of the outer flap 9 and d 'other hand, at least near 21 of the free edge 10' of the inner flap 10 so that in the natural release position of said flaps, as illustrated in Figure 4, the end 20, or upper connection, of the outer flap 9 always exceeds the area of the connection 21 of the sealing means 8 on the inner flap 10.
  • the connections 20 and 21 lie in a plane 22 which s extends, from the connection 20, diagonally to the perpendicular 23 of the tangent 24 of the arc 25 in which the shape of the external tongue 9 is at least partially inscribed.
  • the extensible sealing means 28, which consists of a film or a membrane without functional fold 17 intended to allow the spacing of the flaps 9 and 10, is arranged in simple covering on the interstice 18 for covering the latter.
  • the opening of the boot, and therefore the spacing of the flaps 9 and 10 is carried out simply by playing on the inherent elasticity of the sealing means 8.
  • the means of 'seal 8 is connected essentially to the outside of the shoe and in particular to the inner flap 10 at a point 29 located at a sufficient distance from the end 9' of the outer flap 9 to allow sliding and reciprocal bringing together of said flaps 9 and 10 when the tightening device 12 (not shown) connects them in the closed position of the shoe.
