Definitions
- the invention relates to a lockable adjustment device for height or incline adjustable parts on couches, beds or the like with the features specified in the preamble of claim 1.
- Such adjustment devices are used, for example, to adjust the height or inclination of headboards or footboards on patient beds, so-called comfort beds or massage tables.
- Use on so-called convertible armchairs or chairs equipped with adjustable backrests is also conceivable.
- a lockable adjustment device as is used in a patient's bed with a mattress frame and an adjustable in its inclination and lockable in the desired inclination lying part is basically known from DE 40 04 027 C1. Furthermore, reference is made to DE 31 04 484 C2 as a further prior art, in which the long-established basic principle of a lockable adjusting device with support rod and a locking device coupled to it is also used, the latter essentially comprising a clamping rod and an essentially rectangular one thereon to the rod longitudinal direction arranged clamping plate which encloses the clamping rod with play with an opening.
- the clamping plate is displaceable relative to the clamping rod on the one hand in its longitudinal direction and on the other hand tiltable between a locking position and a release position with respect to the clamping rod.
- the locking device In the locking position of the clamping plate, the locking device is blocked against the supporting force of the support rod and released in the direction of the supporting force, so that on the one hand the part which is adjustable in height or inclination is movable in an adjustment direction - for example for folding up - and in the opposite direction to it - that is to say against a fold down - is blocked.
- This purely mechanical adjustment and locking principle is due to the clamping connection between the clamping rod and relative to this tilted clamping plate has long been known.
- a disadvantage of the constructions shown in the above-mentioned documents is the fact that the blocking effect of the locking device must be released by a separate control panel in order to transfer the clamping plate into the so-called release position in which the clamping connection between the clamping plate and rod is not possible and so that the height or incline adjustable part e.g. can be returned to its horizontal starting position.
- the height-adjustable or inclinable part can suddenly fold down, which is to be avoided for safety reasons. In the field of patient couches in particular, such a sudden folding down, for example of an adjustable head or backrest part, can have fatal consequences for the patient lying on the couch.
- Clamping plate locks are also known, the unlocking lever of which initiates the torque required for releasing the clamping plate into the clamping plate either via a tension or torsion spring. This prevents accidental folding when the lock is loaded. A separate control lever is still required.
- the present invention seeks to improve a lockable adjusting device of the generic type while maintaining the mechanically simple principle of a clamping plate and rod in such a way that the ease of use that can be achieved is increased and safety aspects are satisfied .
- a separate control unit for transferring the clamping plate into its release position should be avoided.
- the claimed construction is based on the knowledge that an inertial mass with which the clamping plate is provided can serve as a variable abutment for a pivoting movement of the clamping plate from its locking position into its release position.
- This pivoting movement is controlled by the tensile force on the support rod or on the part supported by it in the direction of the support force, this tensile force being transmitted to the clamping plate by articulation of the support rod. If the support rod or the part supported by it is pulled slowly, the moment of inertia of the inertial mass does not come into play and the clamping plate remains in its locking position, in which the locking device is blocked against the direction of the supporting force and is released in this direction. With a slow train, for example, a normal folding up of the height or incline adjustable part on the couch, bed or the like is possible.
- the bed 1 shown schematically in FIG. 1 has a lying surface 2 (not shown) resting on the bed, which is provided with a head part 3 whose inclination is adjustable. The latter is connected to the lying surface 2 at the head end of the lying surface 2 via a joint 4.
- the head part 3 is supported by a lockable adjusting device according to the invention at a certain angle W, which can be variable between, for example, -10 ° and approximately + 90 °.
- the lockable adjustment device is designated as a whole by 5 and consists on the one hand of a support rod 6 and a locking device 8 held under the bed surface 2 by means of support struts 7.
- the support rod 6 consists of a double-armed lever 9, which is rotatably arranged about a pivot bearing 10 on a cross strut, not shown, of the patient bed 1.
- the upper lever arm 11 with respect to FIG. 1 is pivotably coupled with its free end 12 in an elongated hole guide 13 on the head part 3 relative to the latter.
- the lever arm 14, which points downward with respect to FIG. 1 has an articulated coupling at its free end 15, which leads to the locking device 8.
- a clamping rod 17 fastened to the two support struts 7 with the clamping plate 18 arranged thereon and the ground block 19 connected to it can be seen schematically in FIG. 1.
- the exact design of the locking device 8 in a first embodiment and its connection to the support rod 6 can be seen in FIGS. 2 to 4.
- the clamping rod 17 passes through the clamping plate 18 through a clamping opening 20 shown in FIG. 3 with play.
- the clamping plate 18 is arranged essentially at right angles to the longitudinal direction L of the rod and can be displaced in this direction L relative to the clamping rod 17. Due to the articulated connection between the connecting rod 16 and the one (lower) end 21 of the clamping plate 18 with the aid of the joint 22, the clamping plate 18 is coupled to the support rod 6 and can be actuated by the support rod 6 or the head part, to be described later 3 are actuated via the handle 23 for locking or releasing the locking device 8.
- the mass block 19 is also mounted displaceably in the longitudinal direction L of the rod on the clamping rod 17.
- the storage takes place via a roller bearing 24, which in the area of the bottom 25 has a channel-like depression 26 in the underside of the mass block 19 is arranged.
- the clamping plate 18 carries a projection 29 which engages between two jaws 30 on the extension 27. Due to the arrangement of the pivot bearing 31 between the clamping plate 18 and the mass block 19, the latter exerts a torque on the clamping plate 18, which acts on the clamping plate 18 in the direction of its locking position.
- the earth block 19 is coupled to the clamping plate 18 via a tension spring 32 which is inserted between the underside of the earth block 19 and the lower end 21 of the clamping plate 18 and acts on the latter in the direction of its locking position.
- a latching device 33 is provided on the mass block 19 for fixing the clamping plate 18 in its release position.
- This latching device 33 is designed as a substantially horizontally arranged latching lever 35 on the vertical outer side 34 of the mass block 19 which extends in the longitudinal direction L of the rod and which is pivotably mounted by means of a pivot bearing 36 about a pivot axis which runs horizontally and transversely to the longitudinal direction L of the rod.
- the detent lever 35 is double-armed, the detent arm 37 pointing to the right in relation to FIGS. 2 to 4 being provided at its free end with a detent recess 38 which is open at the bottom and which has a corresponding detent cam 39 as a counter detent on the opposite side edge of the clamping plate 18 cooperates.
- the locking lever 35 is spring-loaded in the locking direction R by a tension spring 40 arranged between its locking arm 37 and the earth block 19.
- the stop arm 41 of the locking lever 35 is provided at its free end with an angled stop projection 42 which cooperates with a first stop 43 on the clamping rod 17 which is assigned to the lower end of the adjustment path of the head part 3. Since the stop 43, which is designed as a block, can be fixed in a variable position on the clamping rod 17 by means of a screw 44, the lower end of the adjustment path of the head part 3 can also be variably adjusted.
- a further one On the side of the clamping rod 17 opposite the stop 43 is a further one, which can be fixed by means of a screw 45 and in the longitudinal direction of the rod L displaceable stop 46 is arranged, which marks the upper end of the adjustment path for the adjustment device 5. This stop interacts directly with the clamping plate 18.
- the operator pulls the head part 3 upwards via its handle 23 with a slight pull.
- the pivoting movement is transmitted by means of the elongated hole guide 13 to the lever 9 and further to the connecting rod 16, which slightly pulls the lower end 21 of the clamping plate 18 in the direction S of the supporting force. Due to the slight tension, the tension spring 32 is at most slightly stretched and the mass block 19 is pulled along practically without delay, so that the clamping plate 18 remains in its blocking position counter to the direction of the supporting force S, which means that when the head part 3 is released after its adjustment, it is moved into its new position by the Locking device 8 is supported in turn.
- the clamping plate 18 is to be moved into its release position shown in FIG. 4. This is done by an accelerated or fast train on the head part 3, which is transmitted to the lower end 21 of the clamping plate 18. Due to the moment of inertia of the mass block 19, this acts as a counter bearing, the tension spring 32 is stretched and the clamping plate 18 is pivoted counterclockwise with respect to FIG. 2 about the pivot bearing 31 until the locking cam 39 comes into engagement with the locking recess 38 on the locking lever 35. So that the clamping plate 18 is fixed in its release position, whereby the blocking effect of the locking device 8 against the direction of the force S is released.
- the head part 3 can be folded down with respect to FIGS.
- the adjustment device thus has both a positive lock at the lower end of the adjustment path and a forced release at the upper end of the adjustment path, as well as the possibility of unlocking in any intermediate position without actuating an additional control panel.
- FIG. 5 shows an alternative embodiment for the locking device. To avoid repetitions in the following description, parts corresponding to the above exemplary embodiment are provided with corresponding, apostrophized reference numerals. For the sake of simplicity, only the structural differences from the exemplary embodiment described above are to be explained in more detail.
- the mass block 19 'of the locking device 8' consists of two flat cylindrical disks 47, only one of which can be seen in FIG. 5. These disks 47 are fastened rotatably in the region of the upper end 28 'of the clamping plate 18' via a rotary bearing 48.
- the arrangement of the rotary bearing 48 is such that the clamping plate 18 'is pivoted due to the weight of the discs 47 in the direction of their locking position (ie clockwise with respect to FIG. 5).
- the locking device 33 ' is arranged directly on the connecting rod 16' or the clamping plate 18 '. It consists of a locking projection 49, which is associated with a locking slide 51 which is spring-loaded in the direction of the joint 22 'between the clamping plate 18' and the connecting rod 16 '(compression spring 50).
- the compression spring 50 designed as a helical spring sits coaxially on the connecting rod 16 'and is between an abutment 52 on the connecting rod 16 'and the locking slide 51 which is slidably mounted on the connecting rod 16 by means of a guide bore 53.
- the stop 43 'assigned to the lower end of the adjustment path is provided with an additional, L-shaped extension 54 which can be operatively connected to the locking slide 51.
