Abstract
Description
- Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von verzinnten Bändern oder Blechen aus Kupfer oder einer Kupferlegierung. Ferner betrifft die Erfindung die Verwendung von verzinntem bandförmigem Halbzeug im Baubereich, insbesondere für die Dachabdeckung oder Fassadenbekleidung.
- Unter normalen atmosphärischen Bedingungen bildet sich auf der Oberfläche von metallblankem Kupfer eine festhaftende und beständige Deckschicht, die sich infolge der Reaktion des Kupfers mit Feuchtigkeit und/oder Luftsauerstoff teilweise erst mit großer Zeitverzögerung zu einer gleichmäßigen Braunfärbung weiter entwickelt.
- Für die unterschiedlichen Anwendungsfälle, insbesondere im Baubereich, besteht jedoch vielfach der Wunsch nach dekorativen mattsilberfarbigen Oberflächen, die von einer Bewitterung oder einer Behandlung mit chemischen Lösungen unabhängig sind. Ferner soll sich das Aussehen der Oberfläche weder durch Handhabung bei der Montage noch durch Bewitterung wesentlich verändern.
- Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe Zugrunde, ein Verfahren anzugeben, mit dem das optische Erscheinungsbild der Oberflächen von bandförmigem Halbzeug aus Kupfer oder einer Kupferlegierung verbessert werden kann. Ferner soll die relativ große Empfindlichkeit der Oberflächen gegen mechanische und chemische Beeinträchtigungen verringert werden.
- Diese Aufgabe wird erfindungsgemäß dadurch gelöst, daß das bandförmige Kupferhalbzeug zunächst mittels einer texturierten Arbeitswalze zur Einstellung einer im Bereich von 3 bis 12 um liegenden mittleren Rauhtiefe gewalzt und dann kontinuierlich mit Zinn oder einer Zinnbasislegierung beschichtet wird und wobei das Verhältnis von mittlerer Rauhtiefe zu Dicke der Zinnschicht größer als 1,2, vorzugsweise größer als 2 ist.
- Vorteilhafte Weiterbildungen des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens sind durch die Merkmale der Unteransprüche 2 bis 5 gekennzeichnet. Ein bevorzugtes Anwendungsgebiet für das oberflächenveredelte bandförmige Halbzeug ist in Anspruch 6 angegeben.
- Mit Hilfe der Maßnahmen des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens gelingt es in überraschend einfacher Weise ein oberflächenveredeltes bandförmiges Halbzeug aus Kupfermaterial zu erzeugen, das zumindest auf der strukturierten Bandoberfläche ein mattes silberfarbiges Aussehen aufweist.
- Anhand einiger Ausführungsbeispiele wird die Erfindung im folgenden noch näher erläutert.
- Die Oberfläche eines kaltgewalzten und gegebenenfalls entfetteten Bands aus SF-Cu mit einer Dicke von 0,72 mm und einer Breite von 670 mm wurde in einem Duogerüst einseitig mit einer texturierten Arbeitswalze aufgerauht. Die im wesentlichen regelmäßig texturierte Oberfläche des Kupferbands wies nach der Walzbehandlung eine mittlere Rauhtiefe von etwa 5 um auf. Das Kupferband wurde dann mit einer galvanisch aufgebrachten Reinzinnschicht von 1,2 um Dicke beschichtet.
- Die Beschaffenheit der auf die texturierte Bandoberfläche aufgebrachten relativ dünnen Reinzinnschicht ist sehr gleichmäßig mattglänzend, unempfindlich in der Handhabung und erweist sich auch optisch als ausreichend deckend. Die ebenfalls beschichtete nichttexturierte Bandrückseite weist dagegen ein hohes Lichtreflexionsvermögen auf. Bei der Handhabung verbleiben auffällige Fingerspuren und daraus resultierende ungleichmäßige Verfärbungen der Oberfläche. Auf der Bandrückseite stören diese Nachteile jedoch nicht.
- Eine metallographische Untersuchung der Mikrostruktur der Zinnschicht zeigte eine gleichmäßige Verteilung der Zinnteilchen auf dem texturierten Trägerwerkstoff.
- In Abwandlung des Ausführungsbeispiels wurden vier weitere Walzmaterialproben mit auf unterschiedlichem Wege texturierten Arbeitswalzen einseitig aufgerauht. Es standen sowohl Arbeitswalzen zur Verfügung, deren Oberfläche durch Laser- oder Elektonenstrahlbehandlung texturiert waren als auch solche, deren Rauhigkeitsstruktur durch das Funkenerodierverfahren erzeugt wurde. Die Beschichtung mit Reinzinn erfolgte jeweils auf galvanischem Wege.
