Definitions

  • the invention relates generally to a printing press and in particular an infeed belt mechanism Folding apparatus for a printing machine for the display of Signatures.
  • Conveyor belt systems are typically used for conveying Signatures from a printing press on a stack used.
  • An infeed conveyor system typically includes multiple infeed belt mechanisms at a distance are arranged side by side from each other, so that they with the signatures come into contact across their width.
  • everyone Infeed belt mechanism includes an infeed belt at one Side and a corresponding one, in the opposite direction circumferential infeed belt on the other side to one Form signature run so that the signature on their seized on both sides and through the signature run can be promoted.
  • the signatures often leave the Signature pass to in the pockets of a paddle wheel or several paddle wheels. During the Rotation of the paddle wheel or the paddle wheels are then the signatures placed on a stack as in the U.S. No. 5,112,033, which is hereby described as Reference patent is integrated.
  • the infeed belts usually have guide rollers and a drive roller on the inside of the Entry belt are arranged to guide and drive it.
  • An exit roller is normally attached while the other exit roller in the direction of the fixed attached roller with the bias of a single spring is applied to the hard grip on the signature when Maintain entry into a paddle wheel.
  • This hard one Handle or baling pressure is necessary to carry the Signatures in the paddle wheels and their inclusion in them support.
  • the exit rollers loaded with a spring preload meet this gap between the signatures, press these adhere to the fixed rollers and come loose again when they are on the leading edge of the next signature to meet. This creates a vibration phenomenon, what a high dynamic load for the fixed rollers represents.
  • the present invention thus provides a folder which has the following features: at least one infeed belt mechanism with a first infeed belt and a first exit roller and an attached roller is biased by a single spring to maintain the hard grip on the signature when entering a paddle wheel.
  • This hard grip or pressure is necessary to support the transport of the signatures into the paddle wheels and their inclusion in them.
  • the exit rollers which are spring-loaded, hit this gap between the signatures, they press against the firmly attached rollers and come loose again when they hit the front edge of the next signature. This creates an oscillation phenomenon, which places a high dynamic load on the fixed rollers.
  • EP 0 542 550 A1 relates to a device and a method for transferring flat Items.
  • the device two pairs of feed rollers are used to make flat Transport items such as envelopes, magazines, and newspapers. This are separated, one by one from a stack by means of transport transported to a processing station for printing and labeling.
  • the device and method according to the invention allow independent adjustment of the Gap between the rollers so that a flat article, such as an envelope can be inserted into the gap between the rollers, the respective Roller pair exerts uniform pressure in the gap on the article.
  • the pressure in the gap between the guide rollers is brought about by a mechanism which a Raising and lowering the upper driven feed roller, preferably via a Rotary motion, brings about.
  • the preloaded rollers each have a uniform pressure in the nip the article, even if the column width changes, such as in different strengths of the materials to be processed.
  • US 1,883,224 relates to a folding and delivery mechanism.
  • the device shows two pull-off rollers, in which one of the pull-off rollers is permanently mounted is, the opposite roller on a rotationally attached support is recorded. By means of the carrier, one of the rollers is against the fixed one the rollers pressed.
  • the present invention provides a folder which does the following Features: at least one infeed belt mechanism with a first Infeed belt and a first exit roller and one corresponding second insertion belt and a second Exit roller, the first and second infeed belts form a signature run to display the signatures; the first exit roller is about a first roller axis rotatable, but otherwise fixed; one the second Exit roller supporting lever, the second Exit roller on the lever rotatable about a second roller axis is stored; an arm connected to the lever with one first side and an opposite second side; a first spring, acting against the first side of the arm, around the Lever and the second exit roller towards the first To force exit roller; and one against the second side of the Poor acting second spring.
  • Fig. 1 shows a conventional folder 1 for a Web rotary printing machine.
  • the printed web is over a funnel 30 passed and folded. After folding the web through the gap between respective top and lower pull rollers 31 and 32 and guide rollers 33 passed and arrives at a cutting cylinder 34 which the web is cut off and signatures are formed become. Between the upper and lower pull rollers 31 and 32 there is a web separating device 35.
  • the signatures are then passed through an infeed conveyor system 2 in the respective pockets 50 and 51 of respective paddle wheels 40 and 41 promoted. During the rotation of the paddle wheels 40 and 41 become the signatures on respective stacks 55 and 56 filed.
  • the infeed conveyor system 2 comprises at least one Infeed belt mechanism and preferably more than one side side and parallel insertion belt mechanism with coaxial exit rollers, including a first one Infeed belt mechanism 10 for grasping the signatures their width.
  • the first infeed belt mechanism 10 includes a left one Entry belt 11 and a corresponding right Infeed belt 21, which is a signature run for the form respective signatures, as by signatures 3 and 4 shown in Fig. 2. When passing the signatures results there is a gap 5 between the rear edge of the signature 3 and the leading edge of the signature 4.
  • the insertion tape mechanism 10 also includes left upper rollers 13 and right upper rollers 23, which guide rollers or drive rollers for guidance and for Drive of the respective left and right insertion belt 11 and can be 21.
  • the infeed belt mechanism 10 includes also a left exit roller 15 and a corresponding one right discharge roller 25.
  • Figure 2 shows the infeed belt mechanism 10, i.e. one of preferably arranged several side by side Infeed belt mechanisms, which are a left infeed belt 11 and includes a corresponding right entry belt 21.
  • the left exit roller 15 is at one end of a left Lever 16 mounted, and the left lever 16 is with his attached at the other end to a sleeve 18 which is around one Stud 17 is rotatable.
  • the stud 17 is on one Frame part 28 attached such that the left lever 16 and the left exit roller 15 with a spring bias the right exit roller 25 can be applied, as in following is described in more detail.
  • a Coil spring 60 is wound around a biasing pin 62 which has a bolt head 63, and is between the Bolt head 63 and the top of the arm 29 movable.
  • the Preload bolt 62 is in a on the frame part 28th fastened mounting piece 65 screwed and also penetrates through a hole in the arm 29.
  • the preload of the Coil spring 60 can be tightened or loosened Bolt 62 can be changed. If the Preload can loosen the clamping bolt of the arm 29 so that the arm 29 can rotate on the sleeve 18, and screwed back in later. This can be done without the position of the lever 16, which is its own Clamping bolt has to affect.
  • a second spring 61 e.g. from a rubbery Material can consist and preferably a high Has spring constant.
  • the second spring 61 also has preferably additional damping properties in order To reduce the effects of forces and vibrations.
  • the individual signatures 3, 4 moved between the corresponding infeed belts 11, 21.
  • the spiral spring 60 forces the arm 29 and thus the lever 16 and the left exit roller 15, through the sleeve 18 in To move toward the right exit roller 25.
  • the second Spring 61 counteracts this movement. So if the gap the exit rollers 15, 25 pass between two signatures, the spring 61 with the high spring constant absorbs the high one dynamic load and thus significantly reduces that through the respective gap between the signatures beating caused.
