- the function of the device is as follows. After switching on the ignition electronics 13 with the aid of a mains current or a battery present in the ignition electronics 13, the propellant charge 4a is ignited. The resulting gas presses on the sabot 5, the pressure is transferred to the coil spring 6 and on the pressure stamp 7, which exerts the desired pressure on the hydraulic oil 2a located in a space 14 above the pressure stamp 7 and in the hydraulic tank 2. The maximum stroke of the sabot 5 is limited by a lock 15 and that of the plunger 7 by a collar 16. The spring 6 maintains the pressure on the hydraulic oil. If the combustion chamber 4 with the propellant charge 4a is enclosed in a manner not shown by a metallic bellows, the developed propellant gases are hermetically sealed, so that no propellant gas molecules can escape to the outside.
