Abstract

Un vitrage résistant au feu comprend deux vitres de verre au silicate (1, 2), qui sont maintenues à distance, aux bords par l'intermédiaire d'un cadre d'entretoisement et par l'intermédiaire de couches de matière adhésive (6, 7, 8) et qui sont assemblées hermétiquement. L'espace intermédiaire est rempli d'un hydrogel (9) contenant un sel soluble dans l'eau. Le cadre d'entretoisement (3, 4, 5) est fait de bandes de verre au silicate. Comme les bandes de verre sont moins conductrices de la chaleur que le cadre d'entretoisement connu fait d'acier, dans le cas de la vitre qui n'est pas exposée au feu, l'échauffement de la zone marginale, qui en règle générale conduit à la destruction de cette vitre, est retardé. De ce fait, dans le cas du vitrage de même épaisseur, on obtient une résistance au feu de plus longue durée. Ainsi, des vitrages coupe-feu de même classe de résistance au feu peuvent être fabriqués moins épais.
