  • the caster 6 engages in two grooves 38 of the discs so as to drive these discs in rotation and, simultaneously, separates these discs from one another by applying them against the linings of brake 35 and 36. Braking therefore no longer occurs only by friction between the wheel 6 and the discs, but essentially by friction between the discs and the brake linings. The wear of the caster by braking is therefore greatly reduced and the choice of suitable materials for the brake discs and linings ensures a very long service life of the brake.
  • the brake pads could be attached to the discs.
  • the caster 6 could be provided with two cheeks with conical teeth, of metal or plastic, intended to mesh with a conical teeth formed on the brake discs. It would thus be possible to significantly increase the braking efficiency.
