  • the tongue may then be moved from this engaging position into a locking position by applying lateral pressure from within the holder to force the corner 30A to ride over the curved portion of the base 27 of the recess from the notch 28B into the notch 28A.
  • the nose 31 projects beyond the upper edge of the recess and the tail 33 beyond the lower edge with the tongue lying flat against the inner surface of the side wall panel 6A. It is not then possible by pulling on the front panel to disengage it from the body of the holder and the holder is thus securely held in its assembled condition.
  • the tongues 21A and 21B at opposite sides of the holder require to be moved inwardly to lie along the longer side 26 of the respective recesses, following which the tongues may be withdrawn from the recesses by reversing the movement effected to engage them initially.
  • each tongue 21A,21B that is to say the dimension at right angles to the associated fold line 22A,22B is approximately equal to the width of the side walls 6A,6B.
  • the cooperating parts of the latch means may be readily engaged with one another in the engaging position but rather than remaining there, the tongues are moved bodily outwardly into their locking positions in which they lie flush against the side walls of the assembled holder. In this position the assembly is securely locked in its assembled position and cannot inadvertantly come apart causing spillage or loss of the contents.
  • the latch means may also be disengaged if required by first moving the tongues into the engaging position and then withdrawing them from the respective apertures, although it will be appreciated that in general disengagement is infrequently required.
  • the principal benefit of the construction resides in the fact that it may be transported and stored as a flat blank taking up minimum space and once assembled the holder will generally not require to be taken apart subsequently.
  • the location of the tongues adjacent the side wall panels of the assembed holder is also advantageous in that they do not interefere with documents being placed into or removed from the holder and even if such documents contact the tongues, it is not possible for them to effect disengagement of the tongues from the associated recesses.
  • the triangular recesses have their apices uppermost, they could be inverted if desired.
  • the shape, size and dimensions of the tongues and the recesses may also be varied provided they afford an initial engaging position and a subsequent locking position in which it is not possible for the tongues to be withdrawn from the recesses.
  • the use of the tongues to rigidify the assembled holder in the manner aforesaid may be incorporated in a holder not provided with a dual position locking movement and alternative forms of latch means operable to rigidify the assembled holder may be employed if desired.

Claims (18)

  1. Ebauche pour la fabrication d'un porte-documents ou portefeuille, l'ébauche étant formée à partir d'une seule feuille de matériau découpée et pourvue de lignes de pliure pour permettre de monter l'ébauche et de former un porte-documents ou portefeuille avec une partie formant dos (5), une partie formant devant (12), des parties formant côtés (6A, 6B) et une partie formant fond (10), un élément de fermeture (17) relié de manière articulé au bord supérieur (16A) de la partie formant dos (5) de manière à pouvoir être replié sur la partie formant devant (12) pour ouvrir ou fermer le porte-document et permettre d'accéder à l'intérieur de ce dernier, et des moyens de verrouillage (21A, 21B) pouvant être actionnés pour maintenir le porte-documents dans sa position assemblée, le moyen ou chaque moyen de verrouillage comprenant une languette (21A, 21B) formée sur une partie et pouvant s'insérer dans un évidemment (20A, 20B) ménagé dans une autre partie, caractérisée en ce que l'évidement (20A, 20B) définit une première position ou position de mise en prise dans laquelle la languette (21A, 21B) peut passer dans l'évidement dans un sens perpendiculaire par rapport au plan de l'évidement, et une deuxième position ou position de verrouillage dans laquelle la languette peut se déplacer de manière latérale à partir de la position de mise en prise et à partir de laquelle la languette ne peut pas se dégager sans retourner à la position de mise en prise.
  2. Ebauche selon la revendication 1, caractérisée en ce que ledit évidemment (20A, 20B) a généralement une forme triangulaire présentant un côté relativement long (26) définissant ladite position de mise en prise et un côté plus court (25) définissant ladite position de verrouillage, la base (27) du triangle comprenant des moyens pour maintenir l'élément associé formant languette (21A, 21B) en position contre l'un ou l'autre desdits côtés.
  3. Ebauche selon la revendication 2, caractérisée en ce que ladite base (27) est incurvée entre ses extrémités pour maintenir ledit élément formant languette (21A, 21B) et le pousser vers l'un ou l'autre angle du triangle lors de l'application d'une pression externe dans un sens assurant le verrouillage ou le déverrouillage.
  4. Ebauche selon les revendications 2 ou 3, caractérisée en ce que ledit élément formant languette (21A, 21 B) une fois placé dans ladite position de verrouillage dépasse dans le sens longitudinal la longueur dudit côté plus court (25) de l'évidement.
  5. Ebauche selon la revendication 4, caractérisée en ce que ladite languette (21A, 21B) est plus longue dans ladite position de verrouillage que la longueur dudit côté plus long (26) de l'évidement (20A, 20B) mais présente une dimension inférieure audit côté le plus long, dans un autre sens, la languette pouvant ainsi être insérée dans l'évidement dans une position de pré-mise en prise et peut tourner pour passer dans ladite position de mise en prise dans laquelle elle se projette au-delà d'au moins une extrémité du côté long dudit triangle.
  6. Ebauche selon la revendication 5, caractérisée en ce qu'une surface extérieure (31A) dudit élément formant languette (21A, 21B) présente une forme incurvée pour faciliter le mouvement de rotation entre lesdites positions de pré-mise en prise et de mise en prise.
  7. Ebauche selon l'une quelconque des revendications 4 à 6, caractérisée en ce que ladite languette (21A, 21B) est pourvue d'une partie formant col (30) dont la longueur correspond à celle du côté plus court (25) dudit évidemment (20A, 20B), les parties (31B, 33) de la languette se projetant dans des directions opposées à partir de ladite partie formant col de manière à se placer au-dessous de la partie associée (8A) dans la position verrouillée du moyen de verrouillage et à bloquer la languette pour l'empêcher de sortir de l'évidement.
  8. Ebauche selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisée en ce que les dimensions de ladite languette (21A, 21B) et dudit évidemment (20A, 20B) sont telles que la languette peut être insérée dans l'évidement et manipulée pour passer dans les positions de mise en prise et de verrouillage sans déformation sensible de la languette.
  9. Ebauche selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisée par des parties de raccordement (8A, 8B) reliées de manière articulée aux dites parties de côtés (6A, 6B) et adaptées pour recouvrir, dans la condition montée du porte-documents, la partie formant dos (5), ladite partie formant devant (12) étant adaptée pour recouvrir lesdites parties de raccordement et être fixée à ces dernières par ledit moyen de verrouillage.
  10. Ebauche selon la revendication 9, caractérisée en ce qu'une paire de moyens de verrouillage (21A, 21B) sont prévues sur des côtés respectivement opposés du porte-documents pour relier la partie formant devant (12) à l'une desdites parties de raccordement correspondantes (8A, 8B).
  11. Ebauche selon la revendication 10, caractérisée en ce que chacun desdits évidements (21A, 21B) est formé dans la partie de raccordement associée (8A, 8B) avec le bord plus court (25) aligné sur la ligne de pliure (9A) entre la partie de raccordement et la partie latérale associée (6A, 6B), la languette associée (21A, 21B) étant reliée en pouvant être pliée au bord latéral correspondant de ladite partie formant devant et se projetant à partir de ce même bord.
  12. Ebauche selon l'une quelconque des revendications caractérisée en ce que ladite partie formant devant (12) est inférieure à ladite partie formant dos (15) pour former ainsi une ouverture frontale du porte-documents assemblé, adaptée pour être fermée par ledit élément de fermeture (17).
  13. Ebauche selon la revendication 12, caractérisée en ce que les moyens de fixation coopérants (18, 19) sont prévus sur la partie formant devant (12) et l'élément de fermeture (17) pour fixer l'élément de fermeture dans sa position fermée.
  14. Ebauche selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisée en ce que ledit élément formant languette (21A, 21B) est adapté pour, une fois en position de verrouillage, se situer au niveau de, et contre, la partie latérale adjacente (6A, 6B) du porte-documents assemblée.
  15. Ebauche selon la revendication 14, caractérisée en ce que la largeur de l'élément formant languette (21A, 21B) est sensiblement égale à la largeur de l'élément formant partie latérale adjacente (6A, 6B).
  16. Porte-documents ou portefeuille selon la revendication 15, caractérisé en ce que lesdits éléments formant languettes (21A, 21B) sont généralement disposés au centre de la hauteur du porte-documents assemblé pour augmenter la résistance de la zone centrale de ce porte-documents assemblé.
  17. Porte-documents ou portefeuille caractérisé en ce qu'il est formé à partir d'une ébauche selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes.
  18. Procédé d'assemblage d'un porte-documents ou portefeuille à partir d'une pièce d'ébauche consistant à plier l'ébauche autour des lignes de pliure (7A, 7B, 8A, 8B, 11, 13) pour adopter une position semi-assemblée et à mettre en prise des moyens de verrouillage (21A, 21B) situés sur des éléments du porte-documents, avec des ouvertures (20A, 20B) formées dans des éléments adjacents, caractérisé en ce qu'il consiste ensuite à déplacer les éléments de verrouillage mis en prise (21A, 21B) dans le sens latéral desdites ouvertures à partir de la position de mise en prise jusqu'à la position de verrouillage dans lesquelles ils ne peuvent plus être retirés des ouvertures associées (20A, 20B) sans retourner tout d'abord aux positions de mise en prise.
