Definitions

  • Amusement device in the form of a roller coaster, monorail or the like
  • the invention relates to an amusement device in the form of a roller coaster, monorail or the like, in which at least one vehicle guided on rails can preferably be moved over mountain and valley routes with its own momentum, a reversing lock being provided at least in the region of mountain routes, which is usually the case consists of at least one pawl rotatably mounted on the vehicle and of a rack-like stationary counter-latch extending along the rail in the plane of movement of the pawl.
  • the toothing is designed so that the pawl ratchets over the rack when driving forward and when the vehicle is at a standstill or moving backwards into one
  • Such arrangements are mandatory for roller coasters, monorails or similar showmen's shops. They should come into effect if, for any reason, a vehicle in upward movement is unable to overcome the mountain route and after a standstill endeavors to drive backwards.
  • the same arrangement is expedient if, in the area of a train station, it is to be prevented that a vehicle that has come to a standstill unintentionally moves backwards.
  • the pawls are pressed against the rack in a rotationally locking manner with spring aid. This is to ensure that, due to the spring torque, the pawl automatically engages when the vehicle should move backwards.
  • the disadvantage of such arrangements is that when overcoming any mountain route where there is a backstop, unpleasant ratchet noises arise because the ratchet nose constantly hits the teeth of the rack and is temporarily rejected by the latter against spring action.
  • the invention has for its object to show a better reversing lock that does not need a guide.
  • the invention solves this problem with the features in the main claim.
  • the backstop according to the invention works at least as safely as the known construction and also avoids the annoying ratcheting noises.
  • a ratchet drive is provided, which removes the pawl from the counter detent when driving forward and lifts it to reduce noise. When the vehicle is at a standstill or in reverse, the ratchet drive engages the pawl again and locks it.
  • the ratchet drive can be of any design and different.
  • an eddy current drive is provided. This has the advantage that it does not require external energy such as battery power or the like, but rather gets the energy from the vehicle movement.
  • the eddy current drive is self-controlling and comes into operation automatically. This makes it particularly safe and resistant to interference.
  • the catch of the pawl is a curved segment, on the preferably circular circumference of which the magnets are at a distance from one another in radial alignment with the pawl axis of rotation. It goes without saying that the circular circumference has its center in the pawl axis of rotation. It is advisable to arrange the magnets with their south and north poles alternately.
  • the segment can be connected, in particular screwed, to the pawl as a separate component.
  • the invention also includes the reverse arrangement of the components forming the eddy current drive, according to which one or more pawls with the magnets are rotatably mounted in the rail area and the sword with the toothed rack are arranged on the vehicle.
  • Figure 1 a ratchet backstop when moving a vehicle along a railroad track
  • Figure 2 the pawl reverse lock according to Figure 1 engaged position when reversing the vehicle.
  • the exemplary embodiment in FIG. 1 is based on a known arrangement of a reversing lock (20) on a vehicle (1) of an amusement device, such as e.g.
  • a vehicle is symbolically represented by (1), which forms a pawl rotation axis (3) via a bearing (19), on which a pawl (2) is rotatably mounted.
  • This pawl (2) interacts with a counter-catch designed as a toothed rack (5), which extends in the region of a rail arrangement (4), along which the vehicle (1) can be moved in the usual way.
  • FIG. 1 also shows that the rail arrangement (4) represents a mountain route rising to the left.
  • a ratchet drive (21) is provided which, during normal operation, moves the ratchet (2) away from the rack (5) and thereby avoids ratcheting noises.
  • the pawl drive (21) releases the pawl (2) and locks it into the rack (5) or brings it in they actively interlocked.
  • the ratchet drive (21) can be designed differently and e.g. have an actuator or magnetic drive that draws power from a battery or dynamo.
  • the pawl drive (21) is designed as an eddy current drive (22) which operates automatically as a function of the vehicle movement and does not require a separate control or additional external energy.
  • the eddy current drive (22) preferably actuates the movable pawl (2) with respect to the stationary rack (5).
  • the drive assignment and the kinematics can also be reversed.
  • a segment (9) is arranged on the pawl (2), on the curved and preferably circular circumference (18), the center of which lies in the pawl axis of rotation (3), there are several magnets (10).
  • the magnets (10) are arranged in an arc and at a lateral distance from one another. They are distanced from the pawl axis of rotation (3) and aligned with their longitudinal axis radially to the pawl axis of rotation (3).
  • the magnets (10) alternate with respect to the location of their north or south poles.
  • the segment (9) is screwed to the pawl (2) or connected in some other way via the connecting means (12).
  • a strip-shaped rail (11) called a sword which consists of an electrically conductive material, for example copper, aluminum or the like, or a covering made of such a material having.
  • the invention is not restricted to the situation and arrangement shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.
  • the pawl (2) can be rotatably mounted in one or more places on the rail arrangement (4), whereas the rack (5) and the sword (7) are located on the vehicle (1). In this case too, it is ensured that the pawl (2) does not generate any rattling noises when the vehicle (1) is running normally, and that, conversely, when the vehicle is at a standstill or even reversed, the pawl (2) immediately engages in the rack (5) .
  • the sword (11) can be provided with a plurality of magnets arranged one behind the other, the poles of which are also arranged alternately to one another, whereas the segment (9) consists of a conductive material or is provided with such a material.
