Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a toothbrush with a handle and a bristle part.
  • the unpublished WO-A-97/07707 which according to prior art Article 54 (3) EPC applies, shows a toothbrush, the bristle part of two towards the toothbrush longitudinal axis arranged one behind the other via a Flexurally elastic joint connection interconnected brush heads having.
  • Each brush head has a bristle holder with protruding bristles.
  • One of the two brush heads essentially has a top view triangular bristle holders with a rounded tip.
  • This brush head is equipped with a central tuft of bristles and with other surrounding this central tuft of bristles in a circular or polygonal shape Tufts of bristles.
  • the other brush head is essentially trapezoidal (Fig. 30).
  • the brush heads are so one across Toothbrush longitudinal axis angled axis that the two brush surfaces each formed by the ends of the bristles are inclined towards each other (Fig. 32).
  • EPC either Pre-published WO 97/24048, which also has a toothbrush with two in Arranged one behind the other in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the toothbrush Has brush heads.
  • Each brush head is through a bristle holder and protruding bristles.
  • the two bristle carriers are flexibly connected to each other and essentially in plan view trapezoidal (Fig. 2).
  • the two brush heads are one Axis running perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the toothbrush against one another angled so that the two are each formed by the ends of the bristles Brush surfaces are inclined towards each other.
  • the present invention has for its object to a toothbrush create the gently cleaning the teeth and more effective The interdental spaces are also possible than conventional toothbrushes.
  • the bristle part consists of two brush heads that connected to each other via a flexible joint connection and so are angled towards each other so that the brush surfaces face each other are inclined, better adaptation of the cleaning effective Total brushing area achieved on the shape of the dentition and the individual teeth. As a result, the tooth surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and on the other hand with the bristles the interdental spaces and also the gum line can be better reached.
  • Round brush heads have that The advantage is that it prompts the user to clean the toothbrush to move in a circle. Such a circular movement contributes more effective teeth cleaning.
  • FIGS A first embodiment of FIGS described toothbrush according to the invention.
  • the toothbrush consists of a handle 1 and a bristle part 2, which is connected to the handle 1 via a neck part 3.
  • the Bristle part 2 which is shown enlarged in Figures 3 and 4, by two round brush heads 4, 5 formed.
  • Each brush head consists of one Bristle carrier 6, from which bristles project to form bristle tufts 7 are summarized and anchored at one end in the bristle carrier 6.
  • the free-standing ends of the bristles form the brush surface 8.
  • the bristle carriers 6 have a flat base surface 9 on. In FIGS. 3 and 4, they are 9 at right angles to this base area extending longitudinal axes of the brush heads 4, 5 with 4a and 5a respectively.
  • the two brush heads 4, 5 are in the direction of the longitudinal axis A Toothbrush (Fig. 2 and 4) seen one behind the other. How special 3, the two brush heads 4, 5 are approximately one Axis B perpendicular to the longitudinal axis A of the toothbrush (Fig. 4) angled towards each other by the angle ⁇ , in such a way that the Brush surfaces 8 of the two brush heads 4, 5 are inclined towards each other. In other words, the two longitudinal axes 4a, 5a of the brush heads run 4, 5 in the illustration according to FIG. 3 viewed upwards together.
  • the angle ⁇ is preferably between approximately 2 ° and 10 °, but can are between about 1 ° and 45 °.
  • the bristles are at their free ends cut so that a concave arch can be seen in the side view Brush surface 8 is created.
  • the curvature or curvature runs in the direction of the Longitudinal toothbrush axis A.
  • the brushing surfaces 8 are preferably by the Shell surface of a cylinder or another surface of revolution is formed, wherein whose axis of rotation is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis A of the toothbrush.
  • the shape of this concave brush surface 8 corresponds approximately to the tooth shape.
  • the bristle ends can do even better penetrate between the teeth.
  • the back and forth Toothbrush occurs during the cleaning of the teeth because of the concave Curvature of the brush surface 8 depending on the direction of movement other bristles Brush heads 4, 5 in the interdental spaces.
  • the two Brush surfaces 8 defined contour corresponds approximately to the course of the Gumline, i.e. the rounding of the gum line. all of this means that the cleaning effect is increased.
  • Such mobility of the brush heads 4, 5 allows the Teeth cleaning a quick adaptation to the teeth and tooth shape.
  • FIG. 5 and 6 is in a representation corresponding to FIG. 3 shown another embodiment, which is different from the embodiment 1-4 only differs in that the two brush heads 4 and 5 not rigid, but by means of an only schematically indicated elastic bending joint 10 are interconnected.
  • This elastic Hinge 10 which e.g. can have one or more connecting webs, allows the brush head 5 a certain elastic deflection by one Deflection axis perpendicular to the toothbrush longitudinal axis A (not shown).
  • the brush head 5 can therefore be moved from the position shown in FIG Direction of arrow C are deflected, reducing the Inclination angle ⁇ results. 6, the brush head 5 is in shown such a deflected position.
  • the angle ⁇ 'between the both brush heads 4 and 5 is less than the angle ⁇ shown in FIG. 5 in the undeflected state of the brush head 5.
  • This spring-elastic deflectability of the brush head 5 also serves improved adaptation of the brush surfaces 8 to the shape of the dentition and of individual teeth. It also prevents in this way that Cleaning the teeth on which too much pressure is exerted. If the bristle part 2 is pressed too hard on the teeth, the Give up brush head 5 elastically. The deflectability of the brush head 5 also makes it easier to clean the teeth on the inside of the bit (adjustment to the curved course of the bit).
  • the resilient deflection movement of the brush head 5 can by Providing rubber-elastic material in the area of the joint 10 be dampened.
  • the manufacture of such a joint can e.g. in the Two-component injection molding process.
  • FIG. 7 shows a variant of FIG. 3 corresponding representation Toothbrush according to FIGS. 1-4, with 8 instead of curved brushing surfaces Brush surfaces 8 'are provided. Due to the statements in In connection with FIGS. 1-4 it can be easily understood that a slightly less good one for a toothbrush with flat brushing surfaces 8 ' Cleaning effect is to be expected than with a toothbrush Brush surfaces are curved as shown in Fig. 3.
  • the brush heads 4, 5 can also be so be designed so that the bristle carrier 6 including bristles can be replaced.
  • a base body 11 with a holding part 12, which is provided with a circumferential groove 13.
  • the bristle carrier 6 is on its underside provided with a recess 14, the edge of which after inside protruding bead 15 carries.
  • the bristle carrier 6 engages the bead 15 in the groove 13 (FIG. 8).
  • the bead 15 is disengaged from the groove 13 brought, as shown in Fig. 9.
  • the bristle carrier 6 is thus in the Kind of a snap connection with the base body 11 releasably connected. It it goes without saying that other types of detachable connections are also possible are.
  • the bristle carrier 6 with the used bristles can be easily can be replaced with a bristle holder 6 with new bristles without that the whole toothbrush has to be thrown away. This brings for the User obvious economic benefits and helps reduce the waste to be disposed of.
  • Round brush heads 4, 5 with a cylindrical bristle field still have that Advantage that the user is prompted to use the toothbrush Clean moving circularly. Such a circular movement contributes more effective teeth cleaning.
  • top view circular shape e.g. a rectangular in plan view, in particular square or hexagonal shape.
