Definitions

  • the invention relates to a system for operating a control device in a motor vehicle with the features of the independent claims.
  • a selector lever (settings P, R, N, D, 3, 2, 1) which can be actuated by the driver of the vehicle and which can be used to predefine certain operating states of the transmission. These operating states can relate, for example, to the selection of certain transmission gears or the setting of a locking mechanism for the transmission (park mode).
  • selector switch e.g. on the steering column, hereinafter called selector switch
  • the previously mechanically implemented functions of the selector lever / selector switch electromechanically e.g. to be realized by an electric motor.
  • a driving or ignition switch is usually provided, which the driver of the vehicle has to switch to. drive or to park the vehicle.
  • the associated electronic control unit is generally no longer supplied with current / voltage. If the driver now actuates the selector switch with the ignition switched off, the position of the switch and the functions to be initiated by the control unit no longer match. This can lead to a dangerous situation, for example, if the driver only switches the selector switch to position 'P 1 (park) after the ignition is switched off and then reckons with the braking effect / locking of the transmission. Similar effects are conceivable in so-called automated manual transmissions. These are normal or modified manual transmissions in which the clutch pedal and gear stick or just one of the two devices are replaced by an electromechanical drive.
  • a standard solution to the problem described above would be to leave the control unit in constant contact with the vehicle battery, even when the ignition is switched off.
  • the high power consumption of such a system has a disadvantageous effect, which can lead to a discharge of the battery, particularly when the vehicle is stationary for a long time.
  • the object of the present invention is to achieve high operational reliability of a control unit without excessive energy consumption.
  • the invention relates to a system for operating a control device in a motor vehicle. At least one input signal is present at the control unit.
  • the essence of the invention is that means are provided by means of which the control device is activated in response to a change in the input signal.
  • the control unit can respond to a change in the input signal at any time.
  • the means according to the invention have a lower internal current consumption than the activated control device. Since the means according to the invention only have a lower own current consumption and the control device with the higher own current consumption is only activated when required (change of the input signal), a high operational reliability of the control device is achieved according to the invention without excessive energy consumption.
  • the means have a particularly high-resistance detection circuit and / or switching means.
  • a first energy supply device provided for energy supply of the means according to the invention has a lower own current consumption than the second energy supply device provided for energy supply of the control device.
  • both the means according to the invention and the control unit to supply power supplies, for example voltage regulators, with a similarly lower level Have own power consumption. Then, as mentioned in the previous paragraph, it comes into play that the means according to the invention supplied by the first energy supply device themselves consume less electricity than the control device.
  • the means have a first energy supply device. Furthermore, a second energy supply device is provided, by means of which the control device can be supplied with energy. In response to a change in the input signal, the second energy supply device is then activated to activate the control device.
  • the activation of the control unit only takes place in an operating state in which the control unit is deactivated.
  • a travel switch is provided, the actuation of which brings the control unit into the operating state of the deactivation.
  • the means activate the control unit for a predefinable period of time in response to a change in the input signal.
  • the control unit remains activated for a predeterminable time in response to an activation effected by the means, that is to say maintains the activation status within the control unit.
  • a further alternative can consist in that the control unit remains activated in response to an activation effected by the means until the by the change in the input signal desired action is completed by the control unit.
  • the input signal represents the position of a selector switch that can be actuated in particular by the driver of the vehicle.
  • a selector switch described in the introduction to the description is envisaged, the switch positions of which represent different, in particular mechanical, operating states of the vehicle transmission. These operating states are then set using the control unit.

  • a travel switch can be provided, the actuation of which connects or disconnects the control device to the vehicle battery.
  • the means according to the invention activate the control device or the second energy supply device in response to a change in the input signal. It is therefore particularly contemplated that the control unit will react properly to a change in the input signal even if the actual current / voltage supply to the control unit has already been interrupted.
  • An alternative or supplement to the above-mentioned realization of the low self-consumption of the means according to the invention can consist in the means providing a first energy Have power supply device that supplies the means cyclically for a predetermined period of time with energy.
  • the energy-saving maintenance of the operational readiness of the control device is achieved in that the means according to the invention are supplied with energy cyclically, that is not continuously.
  • a travel switch is provided, the actuation of which activates or deactivates the control device.
  • the cyclical energy supply of the means takes place in the state in which the control device is deactivated by the travel switch, that is to say generally decoupled from the battery voltage.

  • the actual current or voltage supply of the control device 6 is outlined in the figure as a voltage regulator 61 in the control device 6.
  • the travel and ignition switch mentioned at the beginning is designated by the reference numerals 12 and 13.
  • Other inputs / outputs of control unit 6 are marked with reference number 8.
  • the circuit 1 contains a voltage supply 2 with low internal power consumption and a device 3 supplied thereby, which, with likewise low power consumption, is able to recognize relevant changes on the selector switch 7. If the device 3 detects such relevant changes, for example a transition to the "park" mode of the transmission, the control device 6 is connected to the battery for a limited time via an electronic switch or a relay 4, bypassing the ignition switch 13 ( Permanent plus, DIN designation terminal 30). The control device 6 is thus switched on.
  • a low power consumption of the device 3 can be achieved, for example, in that the circuit is of particularly high resistance and only a very low current flows through the selector switch 7.
  • Another possibility for realizing a low own current consumption is to energize the switch 7 or the entire circuit 1 cyclically, that is at certain time intervals, and to query whether the position of the selector switch 7 has changed.
  • control device 6 If the control device 6 is supplied with energy in response to a change in the position of the selector switch 7 by closing the switch 4, the control device 6 can determine whether there is a discrepancy between the mechanical position in the transmission previously set or currently present and the selector switch position.
  • control unit 6 If such a discrepancy is ascertained, the current supply to control unit 6 is continued (line d) and the mechanical position is adjusted. After completing this action, the control unit 6 can go into sleep mode again.
  • the control device 6 can use the same switch 4 as the circuit 1 according to the invention to control the self-flow.
  • the line d is thus the control line of the control device 6 for the switches 4 and 5.
  • the second line shown in broken lines in the figure can be used for the control of the signal S1 by the control device 6.
  • the voltage regulator 61 is connected to the vehicle battery 11 via two diodes, as shown in the figure.
  • the circuit 1 according to the invention and the control device 6 can be integrated in a single housing 10 for reasons of cost.
  • control unit 6 When using the invention, the control unit 6 remains ready for action without having an unacceptably high power consumption when the ignition is switched off.
  • the information line d tells the control unit 6, which is switched on via the switch 4, that it has been switched on because of a detected selector switch movement.
  • information 12 could also originate from the switch 5.
