Abstract
Description
Früher wurden als Preßwalzen aus Naturgranit hergestellte Steinwalzen verwendet, die sich durch ausgezeichnete Blattabgabeeigenschaften sowie eine geringe Belegungsneigung auszeichneten. Aufgrund des Einsatzes immer größerer und schnellerer Papiermaschinen sowie infolge des verstärkten Einsatzes von Dampfblaskästen traten im Zusammenhang mit derartigen Steinwalzen jedoch Probleme auf. Zudem sind größere Walzen für moderne Papiermaschinen nur sehr schwer verfügbar. Dies ist u.a. darauf zurückzuführen, daß derzeit weltweit nur zwei Steinbrüche existieren, in denen die dafür benötigten Granitblöcke gebrochen werden. Dies bringt zwangsläufig hohe Kosten und lange Lieferzeiten mit sich. Infolge der großen Abmessungen moderner Walzen und der hohen Rotationsgeschwindigkeiten sowie infolge eines verstärkten Einsatzes von Dampfblaskästen traten verstärkt mechanische Probleme auf. Aus papiertechnologischen Gründen wird heißer Dampf auf die Walze geblasen. Bei einigen Walzen wurde die Festigkeitsgrenze des inhomogenen natürlichen Materials Granit überschritten. Es kam zu Rissen und Brüchen des Granitkörpers, wobei in einem Fall ein Arbeiter sogar tödliche Verletzungen erlitt. Infolge dieser Entwicklung mußte nach einem Ersatz für die Steinwalzen gesucht werden.

Claims (9)
- Preßwalze (10) einer Papiermaschine mit einem zylindrischen Metallkörper (12), der an seinem Außenumfang mit einer wenigstens eine Schicht (16, 18) umfassenden Beschichtung (14) versehen ist,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die Beschichtung (14) in Radialrichtung (R) über wenigstens einen die radial äußerste Schicht (16) umfassenden Teil ihrer Dicke (d) einen sich hinsichtlich ihrer chemischen Zusammensetzung und/oder ihrer Struktur kontinuierlich ändernden Aufbau besitzt. - Preßwalze nach Anspruch 1,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die Beschichtung (14) zumindest teilweise in einem Spritzverfahren aufgebracht ist. - Preßwalze nach Anspruch 1 oder 2,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die Beschichtung (14) eine dem Korrosionsschutz dienende metallische Grundschicht (18) umfaßt, die unmittelbar auf den zylindrischen Metallkörper (12) aufgebracht und zwischen diesem und der radial äußersten Schicht (16) angeordnet ist. - Preßwalze nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die radial äußerste Schicht (16) des Bezuges aus wenigstens einem Oxyd insbesondere aus der Gruppe Al2O3, Cr2O3, ZrO2, TiO2, SiO2 und/oder dergleichen, wenigstens einem Carbid insbesondere aus der Gruppe WC, CrC und/oder dergleichen, wenigstens einem Nitrid wie insbesondere TiN und/oder dergleichen und/oder wenigstens einem Borid wie insbesondere TiB2 und/oder dergleichen oder einer Mischung aus zwei oder mehreren dieser Materialien besteht. - Preßwalze nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die radial äußerste Schicht (16) des Bezuges aus einem Cermet besteht. - Preßwalze Anspruch 5,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß der keramische Bestandteil des Cermet wenigstens ein Oxyd aus der Gruppe Al2O3, Cr2O3, ZrO2, TiO2, SiO2 und/oder dergleichen umfaßt. - Preßwalze nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die radial äußerste Schicht (16) des Bezuges einen Anteil von Kunststoff wie insbesondere PTFE, Silikon und/oder dergleichen umfaßt. - Preßwalze nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß auch die Grundschicht (18) in Radialrichtung über wenigstens einen Teil ihrer Dicke einen sich hinsichtlich ihrer chemischen Zusammensetzung und/oder ihrer Struktur kontinuierlich ändernden Aufbau besitzt. - Preßwalze nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die Beschichtung (14) in Radialrichtung über ihre gesamte Dicke einen sich hinsichtlich ihrer chemischen Zusammensetzung und/oder ihrer Struktur kontinuierlich ändernden Aufbau besitzt.
