Abstract

Eine Preßwalze einer Papiermaschine umfaßt einen zylindrischen Metallkörper 12, der an seinem Außenumfang mit einer wenigstens eine Schicht 16, 18 umfassenden Beschichtung 14 versehen ist. Die Beschichtung 14 besitzt in Radialrichtung R über wenigstens einen die radial äußerste Schicht 16 umfassenden Teil ihrer Dicke d einen sich hinsichtlich ihrer chemischen Zusammensetzung und/oder ihrer Struktur kontinuierlich ändernden Aufbau.
