- the body 12 of the injector comprises between its head 15 and the wings 21, 22 a wide cylindrical section 12a received in leaktight manner, by means of annular seals 29, 30, in the bore 11 of the camshaft holder.
- the diameter D of this bore and of the section 12a is greater than the dimension between the ends of the wings so as to allow passage of the latter during assembly of the injector.
- the injector is fixed to the cylinder head 1 using the fork 20 as follows: the fork 20 and its screw 26 as well as the camshaft holder 4 and the mechanical valve control members are previously assembled on the cylinder head.
- the operator engages the body 12 of the injector in the bore 11 of the camshaft holder 4, by placing the median axis Q of the wings 21, 22 parallel to the branches, as visible on Figures 3 and 4, until the injector is in contact with the bottom
- the operator then performs, through the head of the injector 15, a rotation of about a quarter of a turn, as visible in FIG. 5, to the body 12 of the latter so as to have the median axis Q wings 21, 22 perpendicular to the branches 20a, 20b.

- the well 14 of the injector is formed of a tube fixed to the cylinder head, for example by shrinking, passing through a chamber 33 of coolant, produced in the cylinder head 1, thus ensuring the lower portion 13 of the body 12 of the injector good heat exchange with this liquid.
- the advantage of such a device according to the invention is that it takes up less space in the chamber, as can be seen in FIG. 2, in particular thanks to the arrangement of the fork 20 which is housed under a camshaft perpendicular thereto, and ensure stable maintenance of the injector with a maximum reduction in buckling, which is detrimental to the reliability of the injector.
- this arrangement allows, while being simple to perform and inexpensive, very easy assembly and disassembly of the injector requiring manipulation only of a limited number of parts constituting the environment of the injector.
