Definitions

  • the invention relates to an ammunition feed device for a cannon.
  • an ammunition feeder which has a conveyor chain revolving in a housing of a magazine. Cups are provided on the conveyor chain, in which cartridges are held during transport to a drum of a revolver cannon. At a deflection point of the conveyor chain facing the drum, star-shaped deflection wheels and star-shaped transfer wheels are arranged on a common rotatable axis, the deflection wheels being in engagement with the conveyor chain.
  • a first conveyor link provided in the area of the deflection wheels takes cartridges from the conveyor chain or the transfer wheels, the cartridges being transported along a circular guide surface away from the transfer wheels to a second conveyor link.
  • the first conveyor member consists of two three-pointed stars arranged on a common rotatable axis, the gaps of which are adapted to the cross-sectional shape of the cartridges.
  • the second conveyor member is also rotatably arranged and has a guide surface for receiving a cartridge.
  • a loading star running coaxially to the drum is fastened to the drum, to which the second conveying member transfers the cartridges.
  • an ammunition feeder of the type mentioned is known.
  • This has an actual feed device and an adjacent buffer magazine or a buffer zone.
  • There is a main conveyor chain in the feeder This is used to transport the cartridges before and after they are in the buffer zone.
  • the cartridges are transported in the buffer zone by means of another conveyor chain.
  • the cartridges After returning to the actual feed device or to the conveyor chain, the cartridges arrive on the second conveyor chain, the axial direction of the cartridges being offset with respect to the main conveyor chain, so that to transfer the cartridges from the main conveyor chain to the second conveyor chain, an axial, not shown, and not described further Transport device is required.
  • the second conveyor chain finally brings the cartridges to the cannon.
  • the buffer magazine or the buffer zone consists of a housing in which the cartridges are conveyed in a zigzag manner through the conveyor chain through several successive, approximately vertically arranged areas.
  • the path in the buffer magazine is always the same overall.
  • the first two and the last two vertical areas can be enlarged or reduced in that their upper wall areas can be moved telescopically over their lower walls and back.
  • the upper walls of the first areas on the one hand and the second areas on the other hand are supported at the ends of a lever.
  • the buffer effect occurs because at the start of shooting a strong acceleration effect acts on the conveyor chain, which means that the last two areas of the buffer magazine are reduced in size.
  • This ammunition feeder is relatively complicated in structure and prone to failure in operation.
  • the invention has for its object to propose an ammunition supply device of the type mentioned, which does not have the aforementioned disadvantages.
  • the advantages achieved with the invention are in particular despite the simple structure Achievable buffer capacity of the axial transport device can be seen, resulting in a faster firing sequence is made possible and drive energy can be saved.
  • the proposed axial transport device enables the cannon to be mounted in focus, with which the dynamic behavior and the energy requirement of the elevation movement the cannon can be improved.
  • the modular structure offers further advantages to see the ammunition feeder according to the invention, so that manufacturing and Maintenance costs can be reduced.

  • the stop tube 66 has at one end two cutouts 67 , into which stops 68 attached to the one chain deflection wheel 36 engage. The other end of the stop tube 66 is fixedly connected to the other chain deflection wheel 36 ' .
  • the arc length of the cutouts 67 is dimensioned such that the torsion shaft 65 can be rotated from one another by a cartridge pitch Pt or the distance between the driving tubes 51 of the conveyor chain 34 .
  • the abscissa is assigned the time t and the ordinate the angle of rotation W of the revolver drum 25 .
  • K1 is a path / time characteristic of one roller chain 50
  • K2 a path / time characteristic of the other roller chain 50 'of the conveyor chain 34 .
  • the coordinates R1 to R5 denote times of shots that are fired during one revolution of the revolver drum 25 during a certain period of time.
  • An occurring path difference D of the two roller chains 50, 50 ' is compensated for by the buffer effect of the axial transport device 19 achieved with the buffer shaft 35 and, if appropriate, by the play of the conveyor chain 9 of the conveyor 6 .
  • St-F and St-K denote stops of the conveyor 6 and the turret gun.
  • the axial transport device 19 described above works as follows: Before firing, the one roller chain 50 of the axial transport device 19 is moved from the transmission of the conveyor deflection station 15 via the gearwheel connected to the front transfer wheel 18 and the gearwheel 63 of the buffer shaft 35 as well as via the Chain deflection wheel 36 driven, one part of the buffer shaft 35 being turned as far as possible by half a cartridge pitch Pt / 2 (FIG. 9 ).
  • the transmission of the transfer station 20 via the gear 63 ' and the other part of the buffer shaft 35 with the chain deflection wheel 36' blocks the other roller chain 50 ' , so that the drive tubes 51 of the conveyor chain 34 and the cartridges 2 are at an angle of approximately 2 ° from the middle position and take a buffer position ( Fig. 9 ).
  • the cannon can now pull off a cartridge 2 without the roller chain 50 having to move.
  • the revolving drum 25 rotates due to the explosion pressure that arises during the shooting, so that the other roller chain 50 'is very quickly driven via the transfer station 20 and the gear 63' and the chain deflection wheel 36 ' , and the driving tubes 51 and the cartridges 2 by an angle of be inclined approximately 2 ° in the other direction (FIG. 10 ).
  • roller chains 50, 50 'of the conveyor chain 34 simultaneously move according to the path / time characteristics K1 and K2 in FIG. 11.
  • the revolver drum 25 of the cannon drives the one roller chain 50' step by step, which moves very quickly and is stopped again, twice per shot (R1 to R5, K2, Fig. 11).
  • the other roller chain 50 driven by the conveyor deflection station 15 , runs continuously and follows the middle cadence of the cannon K1 (FIG. 11). This saves drive energy by utilizing the buffer capacity of the axial transport device 19 given by the buffer shaft 35 and possibly the play of the conveyor chain 9 of the conveyor 6.
  • the torsion shaft is pretensioned by the conveyor 6 from a central position by half a cartridge pitch P t / 2 before firing.
  • the cannon relaxes this preload when a cartridge 2 is pulled out and then in turn prestresses the torsion shaft in the opposite direction.
