Description

La présente invention concerne les injecteurs de carburant à l'état de fluide, et notamment liquide, destinés à injecter directement le carburant dans une chambre de combustion d'un moteur à allumage commandé. Elle est applicable notamment à l'injection d'essence, mais elle peut également être adaptée à d'autres carburants liquides, tels que les carburants à base d'alcool et le gaz de pétrole liquéfié.
On connaít déjà des injecteurs pour injection directe ayant un corps d'injecteur contenant une aiguille déplaçable axialement par des moyens à commande électrique (souvent constitués par un bobinage) et terminée par un élément d'obturation, souvent de forme hémisphérique, coopérant avec un siège de passage de carburant. L'aiguille est déplaçable entre une première position axiale où l'élément d'obturation s'appuie sur le siège et une position où il en est écarté.
Les contraintes imposées à l'injecteur dans le cas d'une injection directe sont beaucoup plus élevées que dans le cas d'une injection indirecte dans la tubulure. Il faut à la fois limiter la profondeur de pénétration du jet de carburant, par exemple pour ne pas mouiller les parois de la chambre et assurer un mélange aussi intime que possible de l'air et du carburant pour une meilleure combustion, et cela alors que la durée allouée à l'injection de carburant est très faible.
Pour obtenir ce résultat, on a déjà cherché à donner au carburant un mouvement tourbillonnaire. Le document WO-A-96/36808 décrit un injecteur remplissant cette fonction. Il comprend une chambre de mise en rotation du carburant autour de l'axe de l'élément d'obturation, située en amont du siège de façon à éviter la présence d'un volume mort entre le siège et le trou ce pulvérisation.
La présente invention vise notamment à fournir un injecteur de carburant répondant mieux que ceux antérieurement connus aux exigences de la pratique, notamment en ce qu'il provoque la mise en rotation du carburant à l'aide de moyens de réalisation simple, cependant très efficaces.
Dans ce but, l'invention propose un injecteur de carburant suivant la revendication 1.
L'effet de vortex ainsi réalisé a plusieurs conséquences. Le tourbillonnement du fluide vaporisé qui a traversé le trou de diffusion obturable par l'élément d'obturation améliore le mélange air-essence et allonge le trajet qui serait nécessaire pour que les particules puissent atteindre les parois.
Le disque est avantageusement pincé entre le guide, en appui contre un épaulement interne du corps, et le siège qui est fixé au corps de façon permanente, par exemple par soudage. Le trajet de carburant vers les fentes est constitué par le jeu radial prévu entre le guide et un alésage du corps dans lequel il est monté. L'aiguille, montée alors à frottement doux dans le guide, permet de centrer ce dernier. Le jeu radial nécessaire au frottement doux est très réduit. Il limite le passage de fluide, ce qui améliore la qualité du jet. Le jeu radial d'alimentation peut recevoir le carburant par des rainures ménagées dans la face amont du guide, en appui contre l'épaulement interne.
Dans la pratique, le disque comportera de deux à huit fentes qui peuvent être rectilignes ou présenter un coude orienté de façon à renforcer la rotation donnée par le débouché des fentes dans l'ouverture centrale.
Les caractéristiques ci-dessus ainsi que d'autres apparaítront mieux à la lecture de la description qui suit de modes particuliers de réalisation, donnés à titre d'exemples non limitatifs. La description se réfère aux dessins qui l'accompagnent, dans lesquels :
  • la figure 1 est une vue d'ensemble d'un injecteur auquel est appliquée l'invention ;
  • la figure 2 est une vue éclatée, en perspective, de la partie inférieure de l'injecteur de la figure 1 ;
  • la figure 3 est une vue en élévation et en demi-coupe du guide de l'injecteur montré en figures 1 et 2 ;
  • la figure 4 est une vue de dessus du guide de la figure 3 ;
  • la figure 5 est une vue de dessus d'un disque constituant une variante de réalisation de celui montré en figure 2 ;
  • les figures 6 et 7 sont des vues de détail montrant un fragment de disques constituant des variantes de celui de la figure 2.
L'injecteur dont la constitution générale est montrée en figure 1 comporte un corps 10 en plusieurs pièces assemblées à l'intérieur duquel se trouve une aiguille 12 déplaçable axialement par une bobine 14. Pour cela, l'aiguille est fixée à un anneau 16 en matériau ferro-magnétique. L'aiguille pourrait aussi bien être commandée électriquement par d'autres moyens, par exemple par un empilement de pastilles piézo-électrique, ou même être commandée par pression de fluide.
Dans la partie terminale 18 du corps 10 est ménagée un alésage 20 de guidage de renflements 22 de l'aiguille 12. L'alésage 20 est raccordé par un épaulement 24 à un chambrage 26 auquel est fixé, généralement par soudage, un siège 28. Dans le siège est percé un trou de diffusion 30 dans lequel débouche une zone d'appui d'un élément obturateur. Dans le cas illustré sur la figure 1, le siège 28 est fixé par une soudure circulaire 32, réalisée par laser ou par faisceau d'électrons.
L'élément d'obturation de l'injecteur est constitué, dans le cas illustré, par l'extrémité de l'aiguille 12. La portée sur laquelle s'appuie l'aiguille est par exemple de forme conique, alors que l'extrémité de l'aiguille présente, dans ses zones d'appui, une forme de segment sphérique. La pointe de la partie terminale de l'aiguille peut être conique, pour réduire le risque de cavitation.
Un ressort 34 comprimé entre la face arrière de l'aiguille 12 et un embout 36, dont la position est ajustable dans un but de réglage, tend à appuyer l'aiguille 12 contre le siège 28. La bobine 14 permet de déplacer l'aiguille, contre l'action du ressort 34, dans une limite fixée par la venue en butée de l'anneau 16 contre un manchon fixe 38, qui peut être constitué en matériau ferro-magnétique pour compléter le circuit magnétique de commande.
Conformément à l'invention, l'injecteur est muni de moyens de mise en rotation du carburant, situés en amont du siège. Ils comprennent un guide 40 et un disque 42 de génération de vortex, empilés dans le chambrage 26 entre le siège 28 et l'épaulement 24.
Le guide 40 (figures 1 à 4) présente une paroi latérale cylindrique, de diamètre légèrement inférieur au diamètre du chambrage 26. Il est percé d'un trou de diamètre tel que l'aiguille 12 puisse glisser à frottement doux dans le guide. Le guide a ainsi une autre fonction. Il délimite un passage annulaire d'amenée de carburant vers le siège. Pour réduire les frottements, il peut présenter un évidement du genre montré en tirets sur la figure 3. Il est centré dans le chambrage 26 par l'aiguille, guidée à sa partie haute par l'appui des renflements 22 et à sa partie basse par l'appui sur le siège 28.
Le carburant arrive au passage annulaire 24 successivement par un jeu ménagé entre l'aiguille et la paroi interne de la partie terminale 18 et par des rainures d'alimentation 44, au nombre de quatre dans le cas illustré sur les figures 2-4. Pour faciliter le passage du carburant des rainures vers le jeu annulaire, la face amont du guide comporte avantageusement des chanfreins.
Le disque 42 est constitué par une pièce plate et mince, évidée pour délimiter une cavité centrale 46, de forme générale circulaire, dans laquelle débouchent tangentiellement des fentes 48, au nombre de quatre dans le cas illustré sur la figure 2. L'extrémité externe de ces fentes est placée de façon que le carburant qui a traversé le jeu annulaire puisse arriver dans les fentes. Un chanfrein 50 peut être prévu sur la face aval du guide 40 pour permettre cette alimentation. Le diamètre externe du disque 42 est tel qu'il soit reçu à frottement doux dans le chambrage 26.
La disposition qui vient d'être décrite présente de nombreux avantages. Toutes les pièces sont de constitution simple. L'amenée de combustible s'effectue de façon parfaitement symétrique, du fait du centrage du guide 40 dans le chambrage 26. Les caractéristiques de débit de l'injecteur peuvent être modifiées de façon très simple, en prévoyant simplement plusieurs jeux différents de disques 42 et/ou de sièges 28. En effet, le jeu annulaire n'a pas d'effet appréciable sur le débit que peut fournir l'injecteur.
Les découpes du disque 42 peuvent prendre des formes très diverses. Dans le cas illustré en figure 5 (où les éléments correspondant à ceux des figures 1 et 2 sont désignés par le même numéro de référence), les fentes 48 sont au nombre de six. Elles présentent des élargissements terminaux 52 orientés pour avoir plusieurs rôles. Ils facilitent l'entrée du carburant dans les fentes 48. Ils amorcent le mouvement de rotation du carburant dans le sens de la flèche f, par le coude qu'ils représentent.
Dans le cas de la figure 6, les fentes 48 présentent simplement des renflements terminaux 52.
Dans le cas de la figure 7, les fentes présentent un convergent d'étranglement 54 à leur débouché dans la cavité centrale 46.
L'invention est également applicable à des injecteurs dont les moyens d'obturation et/ou les moyens de commande sont différents de ceux qui ont été décrits. En particulier, elle est utilisable lorsque l'élément d'obturation est constitué par une bille rapportée sur l'aiguille.

Claims (7)

  1. Injecteur de carburant pour injection dans une chambre ce combustion de moteur à allumage commandé, comprenant un corps d'injecteur (10) contenant une aiguille (12) terminée par un élément d'obturation coopérant avec un siège (28) de passage du carburant prolongé par un trou de diffusion, l'aiguille étant déplaçable également entre une première position axiale dans laquelle l'élément d'obturation s'appuie sur le siège et une seconde position où l'élément d'obturation est écarté du siège, l'injecteur comprenant également une chambre de mise en rotation du carburant autour de l'axe de l'élément d'obturation, située en amont du siège,
       caractérisé en ce que la chambre est définie par la face amont du siège (28), par un disque (42) appliqué sur le siège et présentant des fentes (48) débouchant tangentiellement dans une ouverture centrale (46) entourant l'élément d'obturation et par un guide d'aiguille (40) constitué de façon à alimenter l'extrémité externe des fentes, présentant un diamètre inférieur à celui d'un chambrage (26) du corps dans lequel il est placé, de façon à laisser subsister un jeu annulaire d'alimentation des fentes.
  2. Injecteur selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que le disque (42) est pincé entre le guide (40) en appui contre un épaulement interne (24) du corps et le siège fixé au corps.
  3. Injecteur selon la revendication 2, caractérisé en ce que l'aiguille est montée à frottement doux dans le guide.
  4. Injecteur selon la revendication 3, caractérisé en ce que la face amont du guide, en appui contre l'épaulement interne, comporte des rainures (44) d'alimentation du jeu annulaire en carburant.
  5. Injecteur selon la revendication 2, 3 ou 4, caractérisé en ce que la face aval du guide comporte un chanfrein (50) d'amenée du carburant depuis le jeu jusqu'à l'extrémité externe des fentes.
  6. Injecteur selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que le disque comporte de deux à huit fentes.
  7. Injecteur selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 6, caractérisé en ce que les fentes sont rectilignes ou présentent un coude renforçant la rotation donnée par le débouché des fentes dans l'ouverture centrale (46).
