Definitions
- Valve in particular fuel injection valve
- the invention relates to a valve, in particular a fuel injection valve for a high-pressure accumulator injection system of an internal combustion engine.
- valve needle In conventional fuel meters for the injection systems of internal combustion engines, the control of the fuel injection is typically carried out by means of a valve needle, which is sealingly guided and displaceably arranged in a valve body of an injection valve. At its tip, the valve needle has a valve needle seat, which together with a valve body seat of the valve body opens or closes at least one nozzle opening to the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine. The at least one nozzle opening is typically arranged in the region of the valve body seat.
- the sealing edges and fits in the fuel injector are subject to considerable mechanical stress in the prevailing pressures, which also fluctuates greatly during operation.
- the tightness of the injection valve is particularly important in common rail systems, because in contrast to the periodic injection of conventional systems, these are permanently under the respective system pressure, so that leaks can lead to continuous injection.
- a seal between the pressure chamber and the leakage chamber can only be made by means of a sealing gap, since any type of conventional elastic seals could not withstand the high pressure loads in the long run.
- the sealing gap must be made very precisely so that the valve needle can be guided with low friction and at the same time as good a sealing effect as possible, even with fluctuating temperatures and the resulting material expansions.
- Constantly high pressure on several gap seals results in a relatively large amount of leakage, which has a negative impact on the overall efficiency of the system.
- One way to avoid this leakage is to reduce the guide play to a small value of 1.5 to 2.5 ⁇ m between the valve needle and valve body.
- Another measure consists in coating the needle in the area of its guidance, for example in the form of carbon coatings. Even a large guide length (> 10 mm) of the valve needle can reduce the leakage.
- the guide play is limited by manufacturing limits and by lubrication requirements and the guide length by the maximum dimensions of the injector.
- a Z el of the invention is to minimize the leakage of a fuel injection valve of a high-pressure accumulator injection system.
- valve body with a valve body seat and a valve needle with a valve needle seat guided in the valve body within a stationary circular cylindrical guide surface are provided with a valve needle seat
- a pressure standing pressure reservoir in the form of an annular groove arranged coaxially to the guide surface is present.
- This valve according to the invention has the advantage of reduced leakage between the guide surface in the valve body and the valve needle guide, since the high-pressure pressure reservoir in the form of the annular groove causes an elastic deformation of the guide surface of the valve body in the direction of the valve needle guide. This elastic deformation reduces the sealing gap between the valve needle guide and
- a preferred embodiment of the invention provides that the annular groove is separated from the guide surface of the valve body by a hollow cylindrical wall section. Given the high pressures occurring in the annular groove, this wall section is subject to elastic deformation in the direction of the valve needle guide and in this way ensures that the fuel leakage is reduced.
- the annular groove preferably has a depth which corresponds to at least one fifth of the guide length of the valve needle guide, which has the advantage of a sufficiently long wall section which can be elastically deformed in the desired manner.
- the annular groove can also be designed to be substantially deeper, for example up to half the guide length of the valve needle guide.
- a preferred embodiment of the invention provides a hydraulic connection between a fuel inlet of a pressure chamber in the valve body and the annular groove, as a result of which the annular groove is at full pressure in the fuel valve at all times.
- the deformation of the wall section is dependent on the fuel pressure prevailing in the annular groove.
- the annular groove preferably has a thickness which corresponds to at least one fifth of the diameter of the guide surface.
- the wall section between the valve body and the annular groove preferably has a thickness which corresponds approximately to the thickness of the annular groove.
- the leakage gap in the needle guide is separated from the ring groove by the wall section.
- the annular groove is connected to the high pressure bore by a connecting groove in the nozzle body.
- FIG. 1 shows a fuel injection valve according to the invention in a schematic sectional view
- FIG. 2 shows a top view of the fuel injection valve according to FIG. 1.
- FIG. 1 shows a fuel injection valve according to the invention in a schematic sectional view.
- the injection valve 2 consists of a valve body 4 and a valve needle 6, which is sealed with a valve needle guide 8 in the valve body 4 is led.
- One or more nozzle openings 16 are provided in a blind hole 12 of the valve body 4.
- the valve needle 6 has a valve needle tip 7 with a seat edge 14 and a valve needle seat 18. This valve needle seat 18 sits on a valve body seat 20 and thus seals the injection valve 2 with the nozzle openings 16.
- the fuel passes through a fuel inlet 26 and an annular pressure chamber 22 located between the valve needle 6 and the valve body 4 to the seat edge 14 and, with the valve needle 6 raised, along the annular chamber 28 between the valve needle 6 and the valve body shaft via the blind hole 12 and the nozzle openings 16 in the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine.
- a sealing gap 11 is located between a cylindrically shaped valve needle guide 8 in the upper region of the valve needle 6, which is enlarged in diameter compared to the needle shaft, and a guide surface 10 in the valve body 4, which has a cylindrical inner jacket surface.
- the sealing gap 11 extends through this sealing gap 11
- the high pressure prevailing in the pressure chamber 22 continuously decreases with respect to a leakage area 36 above the valve needle 6.
- Annular groove 32 is provided, which has a rectangular cross section with a depth T.
- the depth T of the annular groove 32 is approximately half of a guide length L, which characterizes the length of the axial guide of the valve needle 6 with its valve needle guide 8 within the hollow cylindrical guide surface.
- the guide length L can typically be approximately 10 mm, so that the depth T is approximately 5 mm.
- the depth T is at least one fifth of the guide length L of the valve needle guide 8, so that in this case the depth T is approximately 2 mm.
- the annular groove 32 is connected to the fuel inlet 26 via a connecting groove 34, so that the full fuel pressure prevails in the annular groove 32 at all times.
- the full fuel pressure no longer prevails in the upper region of the valve needle guide 8 or the sealing gap 11, so that the hollow cylindrical wall section 30 provided between the annular groove 32 and the guide surface 10 is elastically deformed inward direction toward the valve needle guide 8. In this way, the sealing gap 11 is reduced near the leakage area 36, which overall reduces the fuel leakage through the sealing gap 11.
- FIG. 2 shows a top view of the fuel injection valve corresponding to FIG. 1.
- the circular shape of the annular groove 32 is again illustrated.
- the thickness D N of the annular groove 32 can approximately correspond to a thickness D w of the wall section 30.
- the connecting groove 34 which provides a hydraulic connection between the fuel inlet 26 and the annular groove 32, can also be seen in this illustration.
- the thickness D w of the wall section 30 and the thickness D N of the annular groove 32 can be approximately 1 mm in each case.
