Definitions
- the present invention relates to a device comprising a usual hourly movement and a chronograph module according to the preamble of the independent claim 1.
- EP-A-0 620 509 in the name of HDG SARL discloses a watch according to said preamble of independent claim 1.
- Wristwatches whose box houses a module or chronograph movement provided with a quartz oscillator allow the carrier to perform measurements of a precision that varies according to the type display, namely of the order of one tenth or one hundredth of a second, depending on whether this display is analog or digital respectively.
- CH-667,771 describes a chronograph watch comprising a the usual clockwork movement that drives hours, minutes and seconds and an autonomous movement chronograph presenting a timepiece and at least one indicator driven by a electric motor.
- the organs of the chronograph movement are arranged on the periphery of the usual movement where basic movement. Each movement has its own oscillating regulator at the same frequency that the other.
- the chronograph movement is equipped with a cage independent bell-shaped clock styling watch movement base and surrounding the latter. Both movements are connected by means of a plate interposed between them.
- the measurement accuracy of mechanical chronographs currently available on the market is, for the most part, of the order of 0.125 second, the corresponding pendulum oscillating at 28,800 vibrations per time, and more rarely, for some other mechanical chronographs, significantly more expensive, whose balance oscillates at 36'000 vibrations per hour, of the order of 0.1 seconds.
- This measurement accuracy can not be increased with mechanical chronographs having a base of common time for the time part and the chronograph part, this for many reasons.
- the use for the hourly part of an oscillating pendulum at a higher frequency would change the speed of the barrel spring and decrease the duration of the power reserve of the movement.
- timepiece more particularly a wristwatch housing a device comprising a basic time movement and a movement chronograph "all mechanical"
- timepiece is in principle classified in the top of range. Its price is high, even though the precision of its chronograph movement is mediocre, not even reaching that of a quartz chronograph movement with digital display of low end.
- timepiece housing a double-movement, clock and chronograph both mechanical, confronts the manufacturer with a delicate problem of congestion or the volume of the part, which, if not resolved, will result in a unsightly which could compromise the commercial success of the shows.
- the object of the present invention is to propose a device which overcomes the inconvenience of the lack of precision while ensuring, in addition, a truly reliable reading regardless of the characteristic of the chosen regulator, therefore of the expected accuracy, and excluding all disturbances (discussed above) on the hourly part of the movements of the device.
- the device according to the invention advantageously finds its place in a chronograph wristwatch (not specifically referenced), as shown in Figure 1.
- This watch shows: at 2 o'clock, a crown push 1 to go up a cylinder of the module chronograph of the device - module hereinafter referred to as module autonomous chronograph MCA - and to control the functions start and MCA standalone chronograph stop at 3 o'clock crown winding 2 of the time movement of the device, movement below called basic movement MB, and at 4 o'clock a push button 3 put in action for the reset and the return on the fly of the module MCA standalone chronograph.
- the watch has a single crown to put on time and go back at a time, in different axial positions, MB base movement and movement MCA auxiliary chronograph.
- the chronograph watch allows the display of the current time using an hour hand 4, a minute hand 5 and a small second needle 6 arranged at three o'clock. It also allows display the measurement of an elapsed time using a counter of thirty minutes 7, placed at nine o'clock and equipped with a needle 8, a second hand central chronograph 9 and a hundredths of seconds counter 10 at six o'clock and equipped with a needle.
- step 12 of the MCA standalone chronograph module with a needle 13 and located at twelve o'clock serves to verify the autonomy of said module until next reassembly.
- the graduations of these different meters are worn on a dial 14; especially the hundredths of a second correspond to one hundred marks materialized on a circular rule, the needle 11 rotating 360 ° per second to ensure a comfortable and accurate reading of the time interval.
- Fig. 2 is a perspective view showing the principle assembly of the MCA standalone chronograph module with the basic movement MB, providing centering elements and fasteners.
- the basic movement can for example be constituted by a movement type 2892 marketed by ETA SA.
- a basic board 76 of the module MCA standalone chronograph has two holes (not visible and not referenced) in which cylindrical legs 16, 17 for to engage in 18,19 dial foot holes of a platinum 15 of the basic movement MB, for the purpose of correct angular positioning of the MCA module with respect to the MB movement.
- Fastening means connect basic movement MB and autonomous chronograph module MCA at their periphery.
- screws 20 A, 21 A pass through holes (not visible and not referenced) practiced in the board 76 and are screwed in corresponding threaded holes 20, 21 of the plate 15.
- a stem 1A pusher for receiving the pusher crown 1 (Figure 1) and, emerging from its face from above, a tree 71 of the mobile of minutes, a tree 67 of the mobile of the seconds, a tree 61 of the mobile hundredths of second and a tree 88 of the small second, and secondly, on the module base MB, emerging from its side, a push rod 2B for receive the winding crown 2 (Figure 1) and, emerging from its face of above, in the center, a wheel 86 of the seconds wheel and a wheel 77 of the mobile minutes.
- a single crown of winding could, using the mechanism shown in Figure 9, be used to operate axially and in rotation the two rods 1A and 2B.
- Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the two movements in the state assembled, essentially showing the autonomous chronograph module MCA styling the basic movement MB (visualized mainly by his plate 15 and its winding stem 2 B) and illustrating the arrangement and the remarkable and original conformation of the main organs and Autonomous MCA chronograph module elements on its base board 76.
- This extremely compact and compact arrangement results from a optimal exploitation of volumes, which saves miniaturization expensive of said organs and elements without sacrificing aesthetics, this design and construction to limit the dimensions of the device in the assembled state at very low values.
- these values are of the order of 7.75 mm (height) and 30 mm (overall diameter), the dimensions of the single chronograph module MCA not exceeding values of the order of 4 mm (height) and 30 mm (diameter). It is understood that these dimensions allow skins of device of the most varied and of a remarkable and successful aesthetics.
- the MCA standalone chronograph module is equipped with its own barrel 22 and its own regulating organ comprising notably a balance wheel 23. This feature eliminates any force on the basic movement MB and stops the pendulum 23 without disrupt the sprung balance of the basic movement MB.
- the MCA chronograph is triggered and triggered by short pressure on the push rod 1 A, that is to say on the crown 1.
- Each of these pressures produces a displacement towards the center of the MCA chronograph of a plate 24 having shaped grooves of oblong openings 25, 26, this displacement, guided by screws 27, 28 cooperating with said grooves, simultaneously activating a beak 29.
- the plate 24 and the spout 29 their starting position under the action respectively of a wire spring 40 and of a return spring 41.
- a pressure exerted on the push button 3 (FIG. reset the MCA chronograph module.
- This reset is done by the action of a single hammer 48.
- aforementioned pressure on the button 3 rotates a rocker 42 and by therefore its beak 44 around a pillar axis 43, which has the effect of to drive an inverter 45 with its pin 46, the latter commander in turn a lever 47 which rotates the hammer 48 whose three beaks (not referenced) come up against hearts 49, 50, 51 mounted respectively on the mobiles of the minutes, seconds and hundredths of a second (see also Figure 4) and cause zeroing of the MCA chronograph module.
- the nozzle 44 When pressing on the rocker 42, the nozzle 44 remains in contact with the inverter 45 for about two thirds of the angular space described by the latch 42 about the pillar axis 43, then said spout 44 is tangentially separates from the end of the inverter 45 and the inverter 45 returns to its starting point under the action of a wound return spring around the pivot axis of said inverter 45 (in FIG. return spring, neither this pivot axis are referenced, the axis of pivoting being also hidden by the inverter 45).
- the hammer 48 is fixed to the axle 52 by a screw 53 and a eccentric washer 54.
- the eccentric washer 54 adjusts the adjusting the hammer 48 so that the three nozzles of said hammer 48 simultaneously support the three cores 49, 50 and 51, resetting the MCA chronograph module being done just before the nozzle 44 does not leaves the inverter 45.
- the spout 44 When releasing the pressure on the rocker 42, the spout 44, held by a return spring 56, can pivot about a pin 55 to avoid the inverter 45 and allow the latch 42 to resume its rest position under the effect of a return spring 57.
- the operating principle described above is therefore used to avoid, when resetting the MCA standalone chronograph module and the pendulum 23 being in motion, any stop of said pendulum due to a prolonged friction of the shafts 61, 67 and 71.
- the same pressure exerted on the press button 3 causes, when the rocker 23 is stopped, a resetting of the module MCA chronograph and, when the rocker 23 is in motion, a resetting the MCA chronograph module (operation referred to as a return on the fly) followed by an automatic restart of a new measurement (without obligation to press on the push rod 1 A).
- the spiral balance assembly of the regulating organ chronograph is stopped when the latter is not in operation.
- Fig. 4 is a perspective view illustrating the arrangement of the regulator, the gear train and the cylinder mounted on the base board 76 of the MCA standalone chronograph module.
- the spiral balance assembly 23 is sized to oscillate at a frequency of 360,000 vibrations per hour.
- Figure 4 shows an anchor 113 and a wheel 58, these elements being selectable from existing assortments.
- a wheel 59, driven on the shaft of the escape wheel 58 is chosen so that it rotates at a speed of 2.5 revolutions per second, the oscillating balance 23, according to the example, at 50 Hz (ie 360,000 vibrations per hour).
- a wheel 60 of the mobile hundredths of a second turns in the clockwise at the speed of one revolution per second.
- a wheel (not visible on the figure, because hidden by the heart 51), secured to the wheel 60, is mounted on the shaft 61 of the mobile hundredths of a second and meshes with a wheel 62 driven on a pinion 63, the latter meshing with a wheel 64.
- a wheel 65 of the seconds wheel rotates clockwise at the speed of a lap per minute through an inverter 66 which connects to the wheel 64.
- a wheel 84 (shown in Figure 5) hidden by the heart 50 and secured to the wheel 65 is mounted on the shaft 67 of the mobile seconds. This wheel 84 meshes with a wheel 68 driven on a shaft secured to a wheel 69 which drives a wheel 70 mounted on the shaft 71 of the mobile minutes.
- the wheel 70 turns clockwise at the speed of a turn in thirty minutes she meshes with a wheel 72 driven on a shaft 73 secured to a wheel 74 which meshes with a ring gear 75 of the barrel 22, the latter unwinding under the action of the mainspring (not shown) in the direction hour at the speed of a lap in 29.7 minutes.
- the mainspring In a mechanical movement, the mainspring is usually calculated to achieve about 7.5 turns. According to the form described, for reasons of space saving, the mainspring is dimensioned to allow the barrel to make about six turns, this which equates to a power reserve of 178.2 minutes. But like explained above, the use of a regulatory body High frequency oscillating spiral balance (360'000 vibrations per hour) reduces the use of the engine torque of the mainspring spring to the period during which the function ⁇ engine torque / ⁇ time is linear, the MCA standalone chronograph module's useful power reserve is the order of one hundred and twenty minutes (see Figure 12).
- the present invention also provides the possibility of modifying the oscillation frequency of the balance spring, the measurement resolution and chronograph module power reserve autonomous MCA.
- the oscillation frequency provided by the regulator of the autonomous chronograph module MCA is equal to N times the oscillation frequency provided by the regulating organ of the basic movement MB, for example, for a basic movement with a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, N can be chosen from 12,50, so that the MCA standalone chronograph module beats the hundredth of a second.
- Fig. 5 illustrates one of the many ways of transferring hourly information, provided by the basic MB movement through the MCA standalone chronograph module, at hour hands 4, 5 and 6 disposed on the dial 14 ( Figure 1).
- the wheel 77 mounted on the floor of the basic movement MB meshes with a reference 78 driven on a tree 79 joined to the references 80, 81.
- the reference 80 causes a floor 82 carrying the minute hand 5 and mounted freely on a tube 85, while the reference 81 causes a gun wheel 83 carrying the hour hand 4.
- a wheel 86 mounted on the seconds shaft of the movement of base MB meshes with a reference 87 which causes a wheel 89 driven on a small second 88 tree located at three o'clock.
- a wire spring (not shown) can press inside a groove 90 of the shaft 88 of the small second.
- This arrangement allows to arrange - according to a common practice the shaft 67 of the chronograph second hand 9 at the center of the MCA module (see also Figure 4) and offers the user a display of the interval of time measured by the MCA standalone chronograph module.
- Figure 8 (comparable with Figure 2) represents a variant according to which a seconds tree 67 B, a roadway 82 B and a cannon wheel 83 B of the basic movement MB have been lengthened by way through a central opening 115 of the chronograph module MCA and display the hour, minute and second in the center of the 14.
- the seconds hand of the movement MCA standalone chronograph is carried by a tree 88 A arranged at three hours on a counter.
- Fig. 6 is a perspective representation of the system of reassembly of the MCA standalone chronograph module mounted on the board 76.
- the manual winding of the barrel 22 is carried out by rotation of the push rod 1 A, in the rest position, in the same clockwise direction as the one needed for manual winding of the basic mechanical movement MB, necessary for a return to service of the latter when it was not worn for a sufficiently long period and that the spring of the barrel is fully unrolled (automatic movement).
- the push rod 1A is guided by a stud 91 and held in place by a spring blade 92.
- a pressure exerted from below on the end of an ergot 93 releases the push rod 1 A and allows to remove the movement of its housing shown in Figure 1 and not referenced, provided that the same operation is performed on the winding stem 2 B (not shown on this figure).
- An angle wheel 94 actuated by a training square 95 push rod 1 A causes a return 96 which meshes with a wheel clutch 97.
- This wheel 97 is engaged with a return 98 if it turns counterclockwise around its shaft 114, or disengaged from it return 98 if it rotates clockwise, the shaft 114 being truncated in almond shape.
- the reference 98 driven by the clutch wheel 97 when it turns counterclockwise, meshes with a reference 99 which actuates a ratchet 100 mounted on a bung 101 of the barrel 22. winding of the mainspring is therefore done by rotating the ratchet 100 clockwise (the click system required for conservation energy stored by the mainspring during winding, known to those skilled in the art, is not shown).
- Fig. 7 represents in perspective an embodiment example a power reserve device of the autonomous chronograph module MCA, the power reserve information being posted at noon on the frame 14 by the needle 12 ( Figure 1).
- ratchet 100 (figure 6), during reassembly, causes a angular displacement of a power reserve shaft 102 around its axis, equivalent and in the opposite direction to that generated by a round of the ring 75 of the barrel 22 on the same shaft 102 during the march of the MCA standalone chronograph module.
- a wheel 103 integral with a shaft 106, meshes with an external toothing of a solar corona 104, the internal toothing of the solar corona 104 causes a planet wheel 105, the wheel 105 being secured to a planet wheel 107 which rests on a toothing inner of a solar corona 108 to rotate, in the direction counterclockwise, the tree 102 of the power reserve at an angle of 30.375 degrees per ratchet turn 100.
- the crown 75 of the barrel 22 drives a wheel 109, the wheel 109 being secured to a pinion 110 and held by a return bridge 111.
- the pinion 111 meshes with an external toothing of the solar corona 108, the toothing inner of the solar corona 108 drives the planet wheel 107 integral with the planet wheel 105 which is based on the internal toothing of the solar corona 104 for rotating, in the clockwise direction, the shaft 102 of the power reserve at an angle of 30.375 degrees per crown turn 75 of the barrel 22.
- the power reserve of the module MCA standalone chronograph is approximately one hundred and twenty minutes, the barrel 22 a lap in 29.7 minutes, a round of barrel 22 corresponding to a rotation of 30,375 degrees of the shaft 102 of the power reserve.
- Reserve approximate walking distance of the MCA standalone chronograph module therefore corresponds to a rotation angle of 127.72 degrees of the shaft 102 of the power reserve.
- safety device limiting the rotation of the reserve shaft 102 of this device (not shown), which may for example consist of chasing a pin-stop in a hole on a planetary disk 112, this pin cooperating with an oblong opening concentric to the axis of the shaft 102 and arranged on a mechanism cover.
- FIG. 9 illustrates a preferred variant of the invention in which a single ring 1 ', preferably positioned at 3 hours, allows you to act on the MB basic movement as well as on the module additional MCA.
- the rod 2B 'of the basic module MB is modified by the addition of a chicken 200 having a toothing 201, a groove 202. The threading on the rod which usually allows fixation of the outer ring 2 is however removed.
- the rod 1A 'of the additional module is provided with a blind hole tapped in which the rod 220 of the ring 1 'is screwed.
- a square 213 on the rod 220 makes it possible respectively to separate the crown 1 'of the rod 1A' using a suitable tool.
- the crown 1 'could be fixed directly on the rod 1A'.
- a pinion of winding 211 is integrally mounted on the rod of the auxiliary module MCA. In position (A), that is to say when the crown 1 'is completely thrust axially against the watch case, this pinion 211 meshes with the times with a 96 'reference of the gear train for winding the barrel 22, and with the teeth 201 of the chicken 200 on the rod 2B '.
- the radius of pinion 211 is dictated by the distance between the axis of the rod 1A 'and the plane of the return 96'.
- the report gear ratio between the pinion 211 and the toothing 201 is therefore imposed by the thickness of the basic movement and the additional module. He can be useful to choose a different gear ratio in order to change the number of turns and the torque to apply on the crown to go up or set the basic module. In practice, it is for example comfortable to use a gear ratio equal to one, allowing go back and set the basic movement with the number of turn and the optimal torque initially planned for this movement.
- the pinion 211 can therefore be replaced by two side-by-side gears of different diameters meshing with the return 96 ', the other with the toothing 201.
- the reference 96 'on which the pinion 211 meshes is chosen from to allow reassembly of the basic movement MB in actuating the ring 1 'in a first direction of rotation, and the reassembly of the auxiliary module MCA by actuating this crown in the other direction of rotation, which allows to go up these two elements independently.
- an intermediate return could be provided between the pinion 211 and the toothing 201.
- the flange 212 drives outward the stem 2B 'of the basic movement MB via the scope 204.
- the collar 212 and the chicken 200 can be reversed on both axes 1A 'and 2B'.
- the mechanism for setting the time of the basic movement MB forces the rod 2B 'to adopt axial positions predetermined, and therefore the flange 212 to adopt one of three positions Axial indexed (A), (B) or (C).
- An optional pivot could be mounted in extension of the rod 2B 'to reduce the risk of bending or rupture of this stem. This pivot could pivot in a bearing (not shown) reported in the middle of the watch.
- FIG. 10 is a sectional representation of the device transmission of the date correction from the indicator disc 250 of the basic movement to the date disk 254 of the auxiliary module.
- the date disk 254 of the auxiliary module MCA carries the indications dates seen by the wearer of the watch.
- the crown 1 'drawn in position B allows the correction, for example the manual advance, of the position angle of the disk 250 of the basic movement MB via the pinion 211, the toothing 201 and the rod 2B '.
- the disk 250 as opposed to the usual date discs, is released from the train basic movement gear, for example by removing the wheel from the days; the disk 250 is not driven by the basic movement, this which saves the energy needed to train it and therefore to increase the power reserve of the watch.
- the disc 250 is held by a ring 252 connected or screwed to the MCA auxiliary chronograph module.
- a 2520 pinion mounted on a tree 253 collaborates with a toothing 251 on the outside of the disc 250, so that the corrections of the date on the disc 250 are transmitted to the ring 252 and then to the shaft 253 passing through the auxiliary chronograph module MCA.
- the shaft 253 is kept free to pivot in the movement by a stone or a bearing 255, a bearing 2530 preventing the shaft from coming out through the top of the figure.
- a pinion 2531 mounted at the upper end of the shaft 253 meshes with a set of teeth 2540 linked to a second date disc 254 on the upper side of the MCA auxiliary module.
- This date disc is driven by the auxiliary module MCA, via a wheel days not shown.
- the upper face of the date disc 254 carries visible day indications for the wearer of the watch at through a window in the dial, these known elements having not been represented.
- the date disc 254 is driven and regulated by the auxiliary module with high resolution MCA but can be corrected by intermediate base movement MB by acting on the ring 1 '.
- the shaft 253 and the disk 250 of the basic module are driven in rotation by the date disc 254. This therefore results in a unnecessary movement of parts and loss of energy.
- the gear constituted by the teeth 2540 and the pinion 2532 is replaced by a free coupling of known type of the person skilled in the art, making it possible to transmit only the correction movements transmitted from the shaft 253 to the disk of upper date 254, but not rotations in opposite directions.
- the MCA standalone chronograph module can be implemented as such, ie not necessarily associated to the basic movement MB.
