Definitions
- the invention relates to a power steering device for a vehicle according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Power steering systems are generally known and are used as standard for practically all motor vehicles.
- a power steering pump circulates a hydraulic medium, which is used to assist in executing steering movements.
- Power steering pumps that are driven by an internal combustion engine constantly circulate a certain amount of oil, even if this is not required. This consumes energy and generates heat and pollutants that have to be disposed of.
- the object of the invention is to provide a power steering device which still enables servo assistance even if the control valve fails.
- the advantage is that servo support is possible independently of the control valve and simultaneous control of the power steering pump is possible in order to provide a volume flow of the hydraulic medium that is tailored to the needs. len. On the one hand, this increases the operational reliability of the system and, on the other hand, comfortable and needs-based steering support is available.
- the volume flow of a conventional power steering pump takes effect automatically.
- the basic quantity and the regulating quantity at least the basic quantity is still available for servo assistance even with a jammed control valve, so that the driver is able to perform normal steering movements with the usual comfort. This is a significant gain in safety compared to the prior art with significantly improved energy savings and a reduction in the operating temperature of the power steering pump.
- Fig. 1 is a schematic representation of a hydraulic circuit with a controllable hydraulic medium flow
- FIG. 2 shows a detailed view of a parameter valve in the energized state (a) and in the de-energized state (b).
- a power steering pump 1 is advantageously driven by an internal combustion engine by means of a belt drive, not shown. It continuously pumps hydraulic medium, preferably oil, in a hydraulic circuit, which is designated as a whole by 11, through a rotary slide valve 5 and a steering cylinder 6 assigned to it. On the suction side of the power steering pump 1 there is a pressure-free reservoir 4 for the hydraulic medium, preferably oil. The power steering pump 1 takes oil from the reservoir 4 and feeds it back into this reservoir 4.
- a conventional pressure relief valve 2 is arranged downstream of the power steering pump 1 on the pressure side thereof, with an overpressure line 3 in which oil can be supplied in the usual way upstream of the power steering pump 1 of this power steering pump 1 and / or the accumulator 4.
- the circulated oil quantity Q is preferably divided into a basic partial flow A and a control partial flow B on the pressure side of the power steering pump 1 by a control valve 7 for setting a volume flow of a hydraulic medium, which is preferably a parameter valve, as required.
- the control valve 7 is activated by a control unit 10, which can be designed as a separate unit or can also be integrated into an already existing control unit of the vehicle.
- the control valve 7 is expediently structurally integrated in the power steering pump 1, but can also be a separate component.
- the driving speed, the steering angle, the steering angle speed, the engine speed, the lateral acceleration and other variables for controlling the power steering pump 1 are processed in the control unit 10. Depending on the driving and steering situation, the oil quantity of the power steering pump 1, which is delivered to the steering gear 6, is increased or decreased.
- the control valve 7 is arranged on the pressure side of the power steering pump 1 such that the volume flow Q of the hydraulic medium sucked in by the power steering pump 1 is at least in the first basic partial flow A, which is independent of the operating state of the control valve 7 and a second control partial flow B, which is dependent on the operating state of the Control valve 7 is divided. Downstream of the control valve 7, the two partial flows A, B are fed to the rotary slide valve 5 and for steering assistance used. The individual volume flows Q, A, B, A + B are marked with arrows in the drawing. The volume flow of the power steering pump 1 is thus divided in such a way that the base part flow A is circulated independently of a driving and / or control situation and the control part flow B is regulated depending on the need.
- FIG. 2 shows a detailed view of a preferred control valve 7 in the maximally energized state (FIG. 2a) in the closed position and in the de-energized state in the open position (FIG. 2b).
- the amount of oil Q is fed into the control valve 7.
- the control valve 7 is closed.
- the valve needle 20 is thick at the lower end 22 and has a taper 21 along its longitudinal extent. The expansion of the taper 21 along the longitudinal extent is dimensioned such that in the closed position, a connection between the channel 8 and the incoming oil is created via this taper 21.
- the excess of the incoming oil quantity Q leaves the control valve 7 via this connection and is discharged from the control valve 7 via the discharge line 9.
- This oil can either be supplied to the inner pump circuit on the suction side or can also be passed into the reservoir 4.
- the control valve 7 particularly preferably has a flow in the size of the base substream A.
- the control valve 7 is open when de-energized. This can be seen in Fig. 2b.
- the valve needle 20 now completely clears the cross section of the channel 8, with the thick end 22 of the valve needle 20 blocking the derivative 9 at the same time. Details of any sealants are not shown.
- the control valve 7 has in the fully open supply there was a flow equal to the sum of the basic partial flow A and the maximum control partial flow B, and the entire volume flow A + B is available for steering assistance.
- an additional bypass line can also be provided, through which the basic partial flow A flows permanently. The control valve 7 can then be blocked for the hydraulic medium in the closed state.
- bypass line can also be combined with a control valve 7, which always allows a certain basic amount of the hydraulic medium to pass.
- Control valve 7 is advantageously completely open in the de-energized state.
- the volume flow Q can be regulated down to the base partial flow A by actively controlling the control valve 7.
- control valve 7 When driving straight ahead of a vehicle which is equipped with the device according to the invention, the control valve 7 is energized and is completely closed. Only the base substream A is circulated. Depending on the driving situation, the current supply to the control valve 7 is reduced during a steering movement and, in addition to the base part stream A, the control part stream B is also controlled by opening the control valve 7.
