- the shoe 17 is moved towards the vortex and exerts pressure on at least one of the levers 14, 15 and 16 on the lever 14 in this example.
- the shoe 23 mounted on the lever 14 then instantly blocks the rocker 3 by friction by pressing radially against an element of the rocker, in this case against one of the screws 13 mounted on the serge 12. This pad could lean against the serge 12 in some cases.
- the outer edges 18, 19 and 20 of the levers 14, 15 and 16 are located above the pillars 4 of the cage 2 (see Figures 1 and 2). In this way, the shoe 17 can act on said levers without interfering with the moving cage pillars, as we saw above, at a rate of one revolution per minute. It will also be noted that the shoes 23, 24 and 25 have a certain elasticity so that the balance, when it is stopped, is not unduly stressed. Note finally that the shoe 17 has, facing the outer edges 18, 19 and 20 of the levers, a concave face 56 arranged to bear against said outer edges. This concave face has a length greater than the interval 57 ( Figure 3) separating the outer edges of two successive levers. In this way, the concave face 56 of the shoe 17 can act on one or two levers, regardless of the angular position of the tourbillon cage.
