Definitions

  • the invention relates to a headlight for vehicles having the features according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • a headlamp for vehicles with a two-burner cup-shaped reflector is known, which is associated with a lens and a diaphragm shaft.
  • the diaphragm shaft extends transversely to the optical axis of the arranged in the apex region of the reflector light source.
  • the diaphragm shaft is rotatably mounted about its axis of rotation and circumferentially has an outwardly curved lateral surface with a plurality of focal lines, which serve depending on the rotational position of the diaphragm shaft to form light-dark boundaries of different light figures.
  • the diaphragm shaft has focal lines for symmetrical and asymmetrical dipped beam and high beam.
  • a drive means or storage means is arranged, so that the diaphragm shaft can be positioned and adjusted in the predetermined rotational positions. Because of the circumferentially curved lateral surface of the diaphragm shaft, the diaphragm shaft shields light rays reflected from the reflector in all rotational positions. As a result, both the low-beam and high-beam focal lines produce a sharp cut-off. The high beam would extend much further without a glare wave or a cut-off line.
  • the headlamp for vehicles below the diaphragm shaft on a Abschattervorraum with a shading which extends adjacent to its upper edge portion of the diaphragm shaft and seen in the light exit direction together with the diaphragm shaft is a continuous shielding device for light rays of a light source of the piggy.
  • a headlight for vehicles is known in which the diaphragm shaft is provided in a portion with a flattening.
  • the diaphragm shaft is used in each pivot position for generating an asymmetrical dipped beam.
  • the object of the invention is to improve the described in the preamble of claim 1 headlights for vehicles such that the aperture shaft has the smallest possible dimensions and may have as many focal lines for low beam functions with a very far-reaching high beam and still continue in any pivot position of the aperture no disturbing Light rays of the light source of the headlamp can pass.
  • This object is achieved according to the invention by the features of the characterizing part of claim 1.
  • a flattening is possible because a flattening does not reflect a sharp cut-off and this is unimportant for high beam. Since the diaphragm shaft for high beam has a flattening and not a focal line generating a light-dark boundary on a curved lateral surface, a relatively large curved lateral surface remains for the dimming-producing focal lines.
  • a focal line for dipped beam can be arranged very close to a longitudinal edge of the flat.
  • the second shading and disturbing light rays are shielded, which would pass at a rotational position of the diaphragm shaft in which the flattening obliquely to a horizontal plane between the first shader and the flattening of the diaphragm shaft.
  • the particular advantage of the invention is that the flattening in a rotational position of the diaphragm shaft extends in the light exit direction and is flat. As a result, in the rotary position for high beam many light rays pass the diaphragm shaft and the high beam reaches very far. In this context, it is particularly advantageous if the thickness of the diaphragm shaft by the flattening by 30 to 60%, preferably reduced by 40 to 50% is.
  • a center plane of the diaphragm shaft in which the axis of rotation of the diaphragm shaft is located, extends through a central region of the flat.
  • the cross-sectional areas of the diaphragm shaft are approximately symmetrical to the median plane.
  • the second shading device builds particularly easily when it is strip-shaped and seen in the light exit direction with its lower long edge region adjacent to the lower side of the diaphragm shaft.
  • headlights for vehicles is designed as a projection module that an elliptical reflector 3, a arranged in the apex region of the reflector 3 light source 20, a lens 4 and arranged between the reflector 3 and the lens 4 aperture shaft 5 has.
  • the light source 20 is a gas discharge lamp, which is provided at its base with an ignitor.
  • the lens 4 is inserted into a table-shaped frame 25, which is fixed to the front edge region of the reflector 3.
  • the diaphragm shaft 5 is made by die casting, for example, from a magnesium or aluminum alloy. It may also consist of an elongated hollow body made of sheet metal, wherein the contour of the lateral surface of the hollow body is produced by generating an internal high pressure (not shown). At its free end portions, the diaphragm shaft 5 in each case has a bearing journal 21 which is mounted on the front edge region 17 of the reflector 3.
  • the diaphragm shaft 5 is mounted perpendicular to the optical axis of the headlamp in the horizontal direction.
  • One end section of the diaphragm shaft 5 is coupled to a drive unit (not shown) serving as drive means, by means of which the diaphragm shaft 5 can be brought into predetermined rotational positions.
  • the drive unit consists of a motor and possibly a gearbox.
  • a first lateral surface section 22 of the diaphragm shaft 5 is designed in such a way that focal lines 8 of the optical light system are formed in different rotational positions adjusted about the axis of rotation 7 of the diaphragm shaft 5, by means of which light-dark boundaries differentiated dimmed light figures such as symmetrical and asymmetrical dipped beam for legal and left-hand traffic are generated.
  • the first lateral surface section 22 is curved at least in the area having the focal lines 8 and has at least one surface section extending two focal lines, which is formed differently from a cylindrical surface.
  • the first lateral surface section 23 thus runs irregularly in the surface section.
  • a second lateral surface section 22 of the diaphragm shaft 5 has a flattening 9, which is formed by the bottom of a recess 10 introduced into the diaphragm shaft 5.
  • the thickness of the diaphragm shaft 5 is reduced by the recess 10 by 45 to 50%.
  • the recess 10 extends to the free end portions 24 of the diaphragm shaft 5, from which project the bearing pin 21 of the diaphragm shaft 5.
  • Figure 5 is a narrower designed Recess 10 shown in dashed lines.
  • the flattening 9 is planar and arranged with its central region adjacent to the axis of rotation 7 of the diaphragm shaft 5 and the optical axis 6 of the headlamp. In the high-beam position of the diaphragm shaft 5, the flat plane 9 runs in the horizontal and releases almost all light rays 26 reflected by the reflector 3. Thus, the high beam is very wide.
  • the diaphragm shaft 5 is disposed between the first and second shadows 11 and 12.
  • the first shading 11 is designed plate-shaped, disposed between the diaphragm shaft 5 and reflector 3 and extends in the high beam position of the diaphragm shaft 5 with its upper edge 13 to a maximum of the adjacent edge 15 of the flattening 9 of the diaphragm shaft 5.
  • the lower edge portion of the first Abschatters 11th extends to the front lower edge portion 17 of the reflector 3 and is fixed thereto.
  • the second shading 12 also extends with its upper edge 14 also maximally to the adjacent edge 15 of the flattening 9 of the diaphragm shaft 5 and seen in the light exit direction approximately to the lower side of the diaphragm shaft 5. This can be in a Abblertzt ein the diaphragm shaft in which the flattening. 9 runs obliquely to the horizontal, no light traffic 16 disturbing the oncoming traffic pass between the diaphragm shaft 5 and the first shading device 11.
