Abstract

L'invention concerne un frein à disque notamment destiné à un véhicule utilitaire, comportant un étrier de frein pourvu d'un disque de frein, fixé à un support de frein (1), dans lequel au moins un dispositif de serrage est disposé. En cas de freinage, le dispositif de serrage comprime une garniture de frein (3) composée d'une plaque support (4) et d'une garniture de frein (5), logée de façon coulissante dans le support de frein (1), contre le disque de frein, la course de déplacement de la garniture de frein (3) étant limitée par au moins une butée terminale (8) du support de frein (1). Le frein à disque selon l'invention est conçu de telle manière que la garniture de frein (5) présente une cavité (9) affectée à la butée terminale (8), passant au-dessus de la butée lors du déplacement de la garniture de frein (3).
