Definitions
- the invention relates to a Verhegelungsmechanismus for a housing with a lid, in particular a luggage box, with at least two locks, which are each connected by means of a transmission element with a push button.
- the invention also relates to a lock for such a locking mechanism with a locking bolt device, the at least one
- Locking bolt carries, with a latch having at least one pivotable about a pivot axis locking hook for detecting the locking bolt for locking the lock, of the elements housing and cover the one locking bolt means and the other receives the case or carries, and with a manually operable drive means for Swiveling away the closing hook of the locking pin for unlocking the lock, wherein the locking pin device carries two locking pins, wherein the case has two each pivotable about a pivot axis locking hook and wherein the drive means is designed for common pivoting of the locking hooks.
- the primary function of such a lock in use with an aircraft is to securely lock and unlock the lid or luggage tub or chute of a luggage box in all flight conditions, including emergency landing conditions.
- the drive means within the lock is connected by a mechanical link to a push button or handle mounted on the lid so as to be operable from outside the luggage box.
- the operation of the knob or handle leads in the known lock to a rotational movement of the mechanical link, through which the lock is unlocked.
- the lock is designed so that inadvertent opening in the loaded or unloaded state of the luggage box is prevented.
- the latch of the lock has a fail-safe function. This purpose serves a double lock.
- This double locking is done in the known lock on the one hand by a locking pin, which is detected by a locking hook, and on the other by a locking pin which protrudes from the case when the lid of the luggage box is open, but at the closing of the lid of the luggage box by the locking bolt means is pressed into the housing of the trap.
- Both the locking pin and the locking pin are each capable of carrying the required loads.
- the locking bolt device is adjustable in two axes.
- the locking pin also serves as a stop for an end stop. This has the disadvantage that with each adjustment of the locking bolt device and the stop of Endstops adjusted and must be readjusted.
- the opening of the lock takes place by pulling the operating handle. But since there is no transmission between the operating handle and the shaft, a higher operating force is required.
- the object of the invention is to provide an advantageous alternative to each of the aforementioned locking mechanism and the aforementioned lock. This object is achieved in a locking mechanism of the type mentioned in the present invention, that between each lock and the push button a freewheel is mounted, in cooperation with the
- Lock holds the push button in the depressed position, as long as not every lock associated with the housing is in the correctly locked position.
- one of the locking hooks is associated with a stopper, which is designed and arranged so that it locks the drive device in its fully open position lock, but releases the drive device during the closing process as soon as the locking hooks assume a position suitable for locking relative to the locking bolts.
- the lock according to the invention is like the lock according to the older proposal of the applicant unlocked by a cable which is invisible within the lid (luggage tub or - commonlye) or laid inside the container.
- a lightweight cable brings with it a weight advantage. Installation is uncomplicated, because cables can be mounted much cheaper than shafts and levers made of GRP. In addition to the lower weight and lower assembly costs even lower component costs are added.
- the main advantage of the locking mechanism and the lock according to the invention is that the locking mechanism is designed so that a not fully latched trap is visually perceptible, for example, based on the position of the pushbutton used to unlock the lock. If the luggage-receiving lid of a luggage box of an aircraft, which is provided at its ends in each case with a lock of the type mentioned above, is warped, so that only one latch completely engages, it is visible from the outside, because then the lid is not flush closes. Since this state of a lock locked only on one side is no longer permissible and a start of the aircraft is prohibited, the locking mechanism and the lock according to the invention prevent such a state, in the push button is held in the depressed position until the
- Locks are fully engaged at both ends of the luggage box.
- the pushbutton is kept pressed by the locking mechanism in at least one of the locks of the container.
- the freewheel mechanism decouples the two locks of the container, which are connected by cables with the push button, thus allowing a one-sided closing.
- the push button remains locked until both locks are fully engaged.
- This design of the locking mechanism allows a separate query of the existing locks on the container.
- the push-button by its depressed position, indicates at least one unlocked lock until all locks of the container are fully locked.
- the basic idea of the present invention is the provision of a one-piece pushbutton. If a luggage box on one side is not fully locked, the push button is in the depressed position. This is achieved by the freewheel.
- the pushbutton may only be in the non-pressed position if both locks of the luggage box are locked. Only when both locks are locked, the drive means is in the one position in which the push button can go to the non-pressed position. If only one lock is locked, the freewheel comes into play so that the push button is only in the non-pressed position when both locks are locked.
- the pushbutton thus provides a binary code. It indicates by Yes / No or pressed / not pressed whether both locks of a luggage box are completely locked / unlocked.
- the locking mechanism of each lock is provided with a stopper which engages in the open state of the lock in connected to the transmission element parts and fixes these parts in position. enable light becomes apparent in the locking mechanism and lock of the invention by the provision of freewheel and stoppers which cooperate to hold the pushbutton in the depressed position unless each lock associated with the housing or luggage box is in the properly locked position.
- each freewheel positively or non-positively couples the transmission element connected to the pushbutton to the lock when each lock is correctly locked, and in all other cases interrupts the positive or non-positive coupling of the lock with the transmission element ,
- Two locks are associated with a luggage box and the lid is closed so that only one lock is locked, the other lock but remains open, the locking mechanism of the locked lock has the necessary freedom to move, although the transmission elements, with the same Pushbutton are connected, with one-sided locking a luggage box can not move.
- the drive means comprises a rack, which is displaceable by manual operation against the pressure of a spring element and in which a recess for receiving one end of the stopper is formed.
- the locking hooks are connected to the rack in each case by a knee lever which is hinged to the locking hook next to the pivot axis so that the locking position can only be opened by tensile force on the articulation point of the toggle lever on the locking hook again , And the stopper is slidably mounted on the pivot axis of the one toggle lever.
- the stopper is associated with a compression spring, so that the rack is spring-loaded releasably locked by the stopper in its open position.
- the drive device can be actuated by the transmission element.
- arranged between the drive means of the lock and the push button transmission element is associated with a freewheel which positively and positively locks the transmission element with the lock with locked and unlocked lock, but the positive or non-positive coupling of the lock with the transmission element interrupts, if not every other associated with the push button lock is locked correctly when locking the lock.
- the purpose is, as in the embodiment explained above, to allow the operation of the locking mechanism in one-sided locking of a luggage box, although the associated transmission elements, which are connected to the same push button, can not move.
- a further embodiment of the lock according to the invention is its use in a housing or a luggage box whose lid is movable about a rotation axis.
- Fig. 1a is a preferred embodiment of a locking mechanism according to the invention, which is connected via a cable and a freewheel with a lock according to the invention

- the lock 10 is a latch lock. It comprises a latch designated as a whole by 20 and a latch bolt device (keeper) shown in FIG. 6 and designated as a whole by 30, of which only two latch bolts 32 and 32b are shown in FIG.
- the lock 10 is preferably intended for a luggage box 40 mounted above in the cabin of an aircraft, an example of which is shown in FIG. 9 in a schematic side view.
- the luggage box 40 has a stationary housing 42 mounted in the cab of an aircraft at the top.
- the housing 42 has a cover 46 which is movable about an axis of rotation 44.
- the lid 46 is a downwardly opening luggage tub or chute.
- the striker 30 of the lock 10 is attached to a side wall of the housing 42.
- the latch 20 of the lock 10 is attached to one of the side wall of the housing adjacent side wall of the lid 46, in such a way that during the pivoting up of the lid 46, the latch 20 and the locking bolt means 30 engage each other.
- an identically formed further lock 10 is attached.
- the operation of the lock 10 is effected by a push button 48, the over Cables 50, one of which is shown in Fig. 7, with the latch 20 of each lock 10 is connected.
- the lid 46 is pivoted upward from the position shown in Fig. 9 in which the lock 10 is unlocked, the latch 20 and the latch pins 32, 32b of the latch bolt 30 engage each other, thereby locking the latch 10.
- the push button 48 By pressing the push button 48, the lock is unlocked again, whereupon the lid 46 moves under its own weight or loaded by luggage down to the position shown in Fig. 9.
- the case 20 has a housing 21 made of glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic, whose structure is best seen in the exploded view of the case 20 in Fig. 7.
- the latch 20 has two closing hooks 51, 51b, each pivotable about a pivot axis 22, 22b.
- the locking hooks 51, 51 b each have an opening 55 or 55 b for detecting the locking pins 32 and 32 b.
- the locking pins 32, 32b are mounted parallel to each other on a base plate 34 of the locking bolt device 30, as can be seen in Fig. 8.
- the locking hooks 51, 51 b are pivotable from the position shown in FIG. 4, in which the lock 10 is locked, into a position shown in FIG. 5, in which the lock 10 is unlocked, by means of a drive device, generally designated 60 ,
- the drive device 60 has a rack 62 and a sliding member 64, which are arranged in a linear guide 66 in a row.
- the linear guide 66 is formed by an existing in the housing 21 channel.
- the right in Fig. 4 end of the channel forms a stop 68 for the rack 62.
- the rack 62 and the slide member 64 are biased by a likewise disposed in the channel spring element 70 in the direction of the stop 68 so that they are eager to assume position shown in Fig. 4.
- the locking hooks 51, 51 b are connected to the rack 62 and to the sliding member 64 by a toggle lever 74 and 74b, respectively.
- the knee levers 74, 74b are hinged to the locking hooks 51 and 51 b respectively adjacent to the pivot axis 22 and 22 b at a further pivot axis 24 and 24 b.
- the knee levers 74, 74b are completely visible in the rear view of the lock 10 in FIG. It can also be seen in FIG. 6 that the toggle lever 74 extends beyond its pivot point 24 on the closing hook 51 and is designed as a pre-release lever for displacing the rack 62.
- the function of the advance lever is explained in more detail below.
- the drive means 60 is completed by a gear 80 which is in engagement with a toothing 78 of the rack 62 and is operable by one of the cables 50 connected to the push-button 48.
- the gear wheel 80 converts the translatory movement of the cable 50 into a translational movement of the rack 62 and the sliding member 64.
- an aluminum cover 81 is additionally associated with the housing 21, which is not shown in Figs. 4 and 5. It covers the linear guide 66 with the elements arranged therein at the top and provides the axes 22 / 22b an abutment.
- the gear 80 protrudes through a central slot 82 in the lid 81 and is engaged with a toothing 78 of the rack 62.
- the locking hooks 51, 51 b are additionally mechanically locked in its closed position shown in Fig. 4, to prevent a jump-up due to overload or extreme vibration. This is achieved by the toggle 74, 74b moved beyond its dead center and locked or locked in their final position.
- the locking hooks 51, 51 b could also be blocked by locking lugs or pawls, but the training shown is the constructive and mechanically simpler solution, because locking lugs or pawls would mean additional components that are rather stiff under load.
- the gear 80 is rotatably mounted above the rack 62 on the housing 21.
- the gear 80 extend on both sides of the guide 66 two brackets 28, 29 upwards, each having a bearing bore in which an axis of the gear 80 is rotatably mounted.
- the rack 62 has, as best seen in Fig. 7, an additional toothing 79 which is in engagement with a toothing 90 on the already mentioned above Notbetutzshebel 91, which is pivotally mounted on the housing 21.
- the two locking hooks 51, 51 b are identical.
- the locking bolts 32, 32b have diameters Dg and Dk of different sizes.
- the locking pin 32b therefore has play in the opening 55b in the locking hook 51b when the locking hooks 51, 51b are in the position shown in FIG. 4, in which the lock 10 is locked.
- the spring element 70 pushes the rack 62 against the stop 68 via the slide member 64, so that the lock 10 is always locked as long as no pressure is exerted on the push button 48. If the spring element 70 due to a fault, for example due to spring break, this should not be able to lock the lock 10, the locking hook 51 b, which is assigned to the pre-release lever formed as a toggle lever 74 b, manually with the help of the Notbetuschistshebels 91 with the Locking pin 32b with the smaller diameter Dk engageable, even if the other locking pin 32 is not engaged with the other locking hook 51 or engageable. Once the emergency lever 91 has brought the latch 51 b in the position shown in Fig.
- the toggle 74b is in its Endlagensperr ein from which it can be removed only by re-actuation of the Notbetreliistshebels 91, so that the lock 10 even after manual Emergency lock remains in the locked position.
- the Notbetreliistshebel 91 is od over a narrow gap which is present between the side wall of the lid 46 and the side wall of the housing 42, by means of an article such as a credit card.
- an article such as a credit card.
- the lock will be in the position shown in FIG. 4 when the lid 46 of the luggage box 40 is closed.
- the gear 80 is rotated in the illustration in Figs. 4 and 5 in a clockwise direction.
- the rack 62 and with it the sliding member 64 is moved against the pressure of the spring member 70 to the left, so that the locking hooks 51, 51 b are pivoted counterclockwise position shown in FIG. 5, in which the lock 10 is unlocked.
- the latch 20 is doubly locked in the lock of the lock 10 on the locking bolt means 30, namely done a primary locking between the locking hook 51 and the locking bolt 32 by means of the toggle lever 74 and a secondary locking between the locking hook 51 b and the locking bolt 32 b with Help of the knee lever 74b.
- Neither the primary lock nor the secondary lock can be released by force on the locking hooks 51, 51 b, because the toggle lever 74, 74b in the locked position are each in their Endlagensperrgna, as explained above.
- the lock 10 can still be locked in the locked position by means of the secondary lock by the toggle lever 74b. ten position be arrested. If, in the event of a malfunction, only the locking on the locking hook 51 b and the locking pin 32 b takes place, because of the game between the locking hook 51 b and the locking pin 32 b, the lid in the closed state something out of the luggage box 40, so that a disturbance from the outside can be seen without further ado. Nevertheless, since the lid 46 is securely locked, the aircraft is allowed to start.
- the locking mechanism 100 comprises a pushbutton 148 which is in each case connected to one of the at least two locks 1 10 via a transmission element which in the exemplary embodiment shown here is a cable pull 150 a luggage box 40 is connected.

- the freewheel 154 has a drive wheel F, which is driven by the cable 150, which is mounted on a hook F 'of the drive wheel F. Between the drive wheel F and a driver J, a connection is made by means of a slider H.
- the driver J is pivotally mounted in a gear G and is held by a leg spring A in position.
- the slider H is pressed by means of a leg spring B in the direction of a major axis L.
- the drive wheel F is pressed by means of a leg spring C in the starting position.
- the rack 162 is driven via the gear G and the lock 1 10 is opened.
- the slider H locks the drive wheel F to the main axis L.
- the push button 148 is kept pressed by the lock mechanism (rack 162, stopper 158). The push button 148 remains locked in its depressed position until both locks 20 are fully engaged. During the closing process, the stopper 158 releases the rack 162.
- the gear G can turn back to the starting position without taking the drive wheel F, if not all locked with the push button locks are locked correctly.
- the slider H unlocks this, and the drive wheel F can turn back to its original position.
- This structure of the locking mechanism 100 allows a separate query of both locks 1 10 a luggage box.
- the pushbutton 148 displays an open system until both locks 1 10 have locked in the correct position. This will now be considered in more detail with reference to the explanatory figures 3a-3d.
- a luggage box has two locks 1 10 and that each lock 1 10 a freewheel 154 is assigned.
- Fig. 3a shows the freewheel 154 in the case when both locks are fully locked.
- the drive wheel F of the freewheel 154 is in its starting position.
- Fig. 3b shows the freewheel 154 in the case when both locks are unlocked. By pulling on the hook F 'this has been moved to the three o'clock position shown.
- Fig. 3c shows a phase of movement of the rack 162 during a closing operation.
- the drive of the rack 162 is effected by the system spring 170.
- the rack has moved to the left.
- the hook F 'and thus the drive wheel F has maintained its position because the drive wheel F has been decoupled from the gear G by the cam K accumulated on the slider H.
- Fig. 3d shows the state of the freewheel 154 when one lock of a luggage box completely locked and the other lock is open. Both cables 154 have their associated drive wheel F brought into the position shown. In the one lock which has been locked correctly, however, the rack has moved to the left in its position shown in Fig. 3d, decoupling the gear G from the drive wheel F, as explained above with reference to Fig. 3c. If the second lock is also completely locked, both cables are released, so that in both freewheels 154, the drive wheel F can move in the position of FIG. 3a. Since both cables join the movement of the hook F 'in the position of FIG. 3a, the push button 148 can leave the depressed position of FIG. 2b and return to the initial position of FIG. 1b, each driven by the spring 167 of the push button 148th ,
- the freewheel 154 interrupts the positive or non-positive connection between the drive wheel F and the gear G only if not both locks a luggage box are locked together correctly. In all other cases, the freewheel 154 is ineffective, ie the positive or non-positive connection (here only the positive connection shown) is maintained. In an aircraft cabin, the luggage box thus remains closed, even if the passenger has locked it only on one side. The cabin crew has but the possibility of recognizing at the position of the pushbutton that the lock is not correct, because despite closed luggage box, the pushbutton is still in its depressed position.
- the push button is released in its depressed position and can, as stated above, in its non-depressed position Return to Fig. 1 b, so that it is then ready for the next unlocking.
