Definitions
- the present invention relates to an anchoring device for fixing a railway track rail to a cross member. More specifically, the invention relates to the device formed, on the one hand, by an anchoring sheath used to anchor the cross-bolt for fixing the rail to the cross-member, and, on the other hand, by a rotational locking member for locking the sheath in rotation relative to the cross member.
- the invention also relates to an assembly including such a device and an instrument for removing the sheath that comprises this device relative to a cross.
- railroad track shall be broadly understood as covering rails for the movement of subway trains, subways, trams or similar vehicles; in the same way, the term “cross-member”, should be understood as covering all types of support of a rail relative to the ground, of all materials, and the term “lag-bolts” as covering all types of members for attaching a rail to a cross member or the like.
- a device including including a metal plate bearing against the cross and against the runner rail, and a lag bolt engaged through this metal plate and in the crossbar, bearing on this plate to ensure the clamping thereof on the crossbar and on the runner rail.
- Anchoring of a lag bolt to the cross-member is made by means of a sheath, generally made of synthetic material, internally comprising a threading complementary to the thread of the lag bolt and comprising externally one or more bearing landings in the material of the transom.
- the sheath comprises a so-called “upper” longitudinal end, intended to open onto the outside of the cross-member, at the face of this cross-member receiving the rail, and a so-called “lower” longitudinal end, opposite to the upper end, intended to be inside the crosspiece when the sheath is embedded in the material constituting this cross.
- the sheath according to this prior document however has the important disadvantage of not excluding any risk of unscrewing the sheath under the effect of vibrations and efforts mentioned above.
- a locking member in rotation of such a sheath disclosed by the document No. EP 1 726 713.
- This member is in the form of a ring adapted to bear in the material of the sleeper , which is provided with internal receiving grooves fitted with corresponding ribs arranged on the upper end of the sheath.
- the locking member and the sheath are assembled together and then the assembly is placed in a mold for molding the crossbar, and concrete to form the cross is deposited in this mold until to drown this set.
- Said locking member prevents the risk of unscrewing the sheath. It does not, however, solve the problem of interchanging the sheath in case of rupture of the latter, and makes the exchange on the contrary very difficult or impossible.
- the present invention aims to remedy this problem, important in practice.
- the anchoring device concerned comprises, in a manner known per se,
- an anchoring sheath having a so-called “upper” longitudinal end, which is open and intended to open onto the outside of the cross-member, at the face of this cross-member receiving the rail, and a so-called “lower” longitudinal end; , opposite to the upper end, intended to be inside the transom when the sheath is embedded in the material constituting this cross; the sheath is provided externally with a thread or other similar helical projection, allowing its unscrewing relative to the cross; and
- a locking member of the sheath relative to the cross member comprising protruding bearing portions in the material constituting the cross member, for immobilizing the locking member relative to the cross member when the locking member is embedded in the material constituting this cross.
- the sheath comprises on the side of its upper end, a rotational zone, and at its lower end, a bottom in which is arranged a circular opening, this opening forming a flange;
- the locking member comprises a circular assembly portion comprising at least one detent tooth, this circular assembly portion being adapted to be engaged in said circular opening and said detent tooth being adapted to engage with said flange, so as to realize an axial assembly of the locking member to the sheath without connection in rotation of the sheath with respect to the locking member;
- said detent tooth comprises an upper portion located inside the sheath after assembly, adapted to allow the actuation of the detent tooth from the upper opening of the sheath, in the unlocking direction of this tooth of latching relative to said flange, so as to achieve a disassembly of the sheath and the locking member.
- the locking member is not on the side of the upper end of the sheath, as in the prior art, but on the side of the lower end of this sheath.
- the sheath is connected to the locking member by means of said circular assembly portion and said detent tooth, and the entire device is embedded in the concrete constituting the cross member, with the upper opening of the sheath flush with the upper face of the crossbar.
- the sheath is then immobilized in rotation with respect to the crossbar by the combined effect of the setting of its thread in the concrete and its axial retention in the crosspiece by its assembly to the locking member.
- the instrument according to the invention When an interchange of the sheath is made necessary, after removal of the lag bolt, the instrument according to the invention, described below, is introduced into the sheath and is screwed into the latter, until it comes, by its bottom end, actuate the upper portion of the ratchet tooth in the direction of release of this snap tooth relative to said flange; the sheath is thus released from its axial connection with the locking member and can therefore be unscrewed by means of the same instrument, by coming from a rotating engagement member, that includes the same instrument, engaged with said zone of rotation that includes the sheath.
- the interchanging of the sheath can thus be achieved in a particularly simple and fast way, even in case of rupture of the sheath in its median part, even in its lower part: the instrument can in any case be brought into engagement with the few turns of the thread remaining at the bottom of the sheath and allow in this way the extraction of the lower stub of the sheath, which do not allow the aforementioned devices of the prior art.
- said circular assembly portion is formed by a plurality of ratchet teeth disposed in a circle, said upper portions of which have ramps capable of coming against said rim when these teeth are introduced into said circular opening, thereby allowing the internal radial deformation of these teeth, the latter being able to come, once crossed said flange, to lock simultaneously behind this flange.
- Said instrument is able to bear against these ramps when it is screwed into the sheath, thereby bringing the teeth into their position of radially internal deformation, and thus achieving axial disassembly of the sheath and the blocking.
- the locking member is advantageously in the form of a plate, and is thus able to take a support in the material constituting the cross member along an extended surface.
- the locking member comprises a barrel adapted to fitly receive the lower end of the sheath.
- This shaft makes it possible effectively to oppose the risk of introduction of concrete into the zone of said circular opening and of said circular assembly part, and thus to oppose any risk that this concrete may come into play in the disassembly of this circular assembly part.
- said rotational zone is formed by a hexagonal portion arranged at the upper opening of the sheath.
- the sheath has a slightly tapered shape towards its lower end, that is to say has a cross section going to be reduced in the direction of this lower end.
- This tapered shape promotes the detachment of the wall of the sheath relative to the material of the sleeper from the beginning of the unscrewing.
- the aforementioned instrument comprises, according to the invention:
- a rod whose lower end comprises a thread adapted to engage with an internal thread that includes the sheath;
- a gripping member adapted to engage with said gripping area q ue comprises the sheath.
- said lower actuating portion is formed by the lower end of said rod, in which a cavity is provided, the radially inner edge of said rod defining said cavity being able to bear against said upper portion of each detent tooth so as to bring the latter into its radially internal unlocking position.
- said gripping member is constituted by a piece adapted to slide on the upper part of said rod and which is in rotation with this rod.
- This gripping member can thus slide along this rod, between an inactive position, in which it is not engaged in said engagement zone that includes the sheath, and therefore does not interfere with the screwing of the rod on the thread of the sheath, and an active position, in which it is engaged in said gripping zone and allows the unscrewing of the sheath.
- Figure 1 is a perspective view of this anchoring device and this instrument
- Fig 2 is a view from another angle of a locking member that comprises the device
- Figure 3 is a view of the device, from the side and in longitudinal section;
- Figure 4 is a sectional view of a railway track rail, a cross member supporting the rail, and fastening sets of this rail to the cross, each of which includes a device according to the invention; and
- Figures 5 and 6 are views of the device and the instrument, in longitudinal section, during two successive steps of removal of the sheath that comprises the device relative to a cross in which the sheath is embedded.
- FIGS. 1 and 3 show an anchoring device 1 used for fixing a railway track rail to a cross-member, this device comprising a sheath 2 and a locking member 3.
- FIG. 4 shows two devices 1 as used for fixing a rail 100 to a cross member 101.
- Each device 1 is part of a fixing assembly comprising a lag screw 102, a metal plate 103 and a shim 104.
- the cross member 101 is made of concrete and comprises the devices 1 embedded in it, with the upper openings of the sheaths 2 opening into its upper face for receiving the rail.
- the cross member 101 receives an upper metal sole 105, comprising holes coming opposite the upper openings of the sheaths 2.
- Each lag bolt 102 passes through the plate 103, the shim 104 and the soleplate 105 and is screwed into the sheath 2, which comprises an internal thread. It thus makes it possible to tighten the plate 1 03 and the wedge 1 04 against the sole 105 and against the runner of the rail 100.
- each sheath 2 comprises an external thread 5, an open bottom 6 and an upper hexagonal portion 7.
- Net 5 extends over about the upper two-thirds of sheath 2; it ensures the support of the sheath 2 in the concrete of the cross member 101 while allowing the unscrewing of this sheath relative to this cross.
- the open bottom 6 has a circular axial opening 8 (see FIG. 6) making this bottom is reduced to a rim delimiting the periphery of the opening 8.
- the upper hexagonal portion 7 is arranged in the upper end of the sheath 2 and opens on the outside of this sheath.
- Each sheath 2 further has a general slightly tapered shape towards its lower end, that is to say has a cross section going to be reduced in the direction of this lower end.
- the locking member 3 is in the form of a cross-shaped plate 10 surmounted by a shaft January 1.
- the plate 10 allows the blocking member 3 to take a support along an extended surface against the concrete constituting the cross member 1 01, and don c to be perfectly immobilized, in the axial direction of the barrel 1 1, with respect to this last. It forms four extensions extending beyond the barrel January 1, radially outwardly thereof, which are connected to the wall of the barrel January 1 by gussets 12, which ensure the stabilization of the locking member 3 in rotation relative to the cross 101.
- the barrel January 1 has an internal diameter such that it is able to fitly receive the lower part of the sheath 2.
- the locking member 3 comprises four latching teeth 13 secured to the plate 10 at the bottom of the barrel 1 1, distributed in a circle.
- Each of these teeth 13 comprises a thinned lower portion, connected to the wafer 1 0 and an enlarged upper portion forming a ram pe, this portion i nférieure ami ncie and this enlarged upper portion forming between them a hooking shoulder turned radially side external of the tooth.
- These teeth 13 are arranged in such a way that they can be fitly engaged in the opening 8 and snap behind the rim that forms the bottom 6, thus achieving an axial assembly of the locking member 3 to the sheath 2, as can be seen in FIG. 3.
- the lower, thinner portions of the teeth 13 thus together form a circular assembly portion capable of being received in the circular opening 8, and the enlarged upper portions of these teeth 13 are located inside the sheath 2 after assembly, cf. figure 3.
- Figure 1 also shows an instrument 20 for removing the sheath 2 relative to the cross member January 01.
- This instrument 20 comprises a rod 21 and a n slide 22 of hexagonal cross section.
- the rod 21 comprises an upper portion 23 T-shaped and a cylindrical lower portion 24.
- the upper branch of the upper portion 23 allows manual entry of the instrument 20 for its actuation in rotation.
- the lower branch of this same part, of square section, receives the slider 22, which is connected to it in rotation; the water does not allow it so that it allows the positioning of this slider 22 between an upper inactive position, visible in FIG. 5, and a lower active position, visible in FIG.
- the lower portion 24 has a distal thread 25, adapted to engage the internal thread that comprises the sheath 2. It is tubular and, as it appears in Figures 5 and 6, has an internal diameter as it can abut against the upper ramps that comprise the ratchet teeth 13, so as to operate an unlocking of these teeth 13 relative to the rim formed by the bottom 6 ( Figure 5).
- the devices 1 are constituted by assembling the sheaths 2 with the locking members 3 by means of the ratchet teeth 13, and these devices are placed and held in a mold for molding a cross member 101 and the concrete to constitute this cross is poured into this mold.
- the barrel 1 1 effectively opposes the risk of introduction of concrete in the area to be occupied by the ratchet teeth 13 and thus that concrete comes to hinder the radial mobility of these teeth.
- the locking member 3 is perfectly immobilized with respect to this concrete, both in the axial direction and in rotation, by its aforementioned form.
- the sheath 2 is then immobilized in rotation with respect to the cross-member 101, by taking the external thread 5 which it comprises with the concrete and by its axial retention by the locking member 3.
- the instrument 20 is introduced into the sheath 2 and is screwed into the latter until its tubular lower end against the upper ramps of the ratchet teeth 13, and thus actuate the latter in the disassembly direction of the sheath 2 with the locking member 3 (see Figure 5); during this screwing, the slider 22 is of course in the aforementioned upper position.
- the sheath 2 is thus released from its axial connection with the blocking member 3.
- the slider 22 can then be engaged in the hexagonal portion 7 so as to bind the instrument 20 in rotation with the sheath 2, which can therefore be unscrewed by means of this same instrument 20 (see Figure 6).
- instrument 20 can in any case be brought into engagement with the few turns of the internal thread remaining at the lower part of the sheath 2 and thus allow the extraction of the lower stub thereof.
- the invention provides an anchoring device 1 for ensuring a perfect fit of the sheath 2 in the cross 101 while allowing, if necessary, easy removal of this sheath.
- This device 1 overcomes in this way the disadvantages of existing peer devices.
