Definitions
- the present invention relates to a baby bath.
- a child's bath is a childcare equipment used to bathe a toddler, typically from the birth of the child until it reaches the age of several months, or even a few years.
- Such a bath includes a tub, which is plastic and which is often placed in a shower tray or on the bottom of an adult bath, and directly on the ground or on feet adapted to the baby bath, before being partially filled with water to bathe the child in order to wash it.
- the bath of a toddler is often longer than the minimum necessary to wash the child: indeed, the bath is a privileged moment between the parents and their baby, to soothe the latter, or to to stimulate it in particular in a tactile and olfactory way, or even in order to play.
- the water contained in the tub of the bath be at a temperature between 36 and 37 ° C. Thanks to a thermometer, it is easy to ensure that, just before placing the child in the bath water, the temperature of this water is satisfactory. However, this temperature tends to drop rapidly, by heat loss, which forces to limit the duration of the bath.
- DE-U-20 2005 018157 proposes to associate with a tub plastic tub, both a warning device and a temperature sensor, connected to the warning device to display the temperature of the water contained in the tank. Such a solution is difficult to manufacture and tedious to use.
- FR-A-2 567 994 on which is based the preamble of claim 1, discloses a baby bath, comprising a plastic tub whose wall is lined with an outer shell.
- a special oil of the type used in radiators with an oil bath and having a priori thermal inertia greater than that of water, is provided in the space delimited in a sealed manner between the wall of the tank and the outer shell. By heating this oil by an electric resistance which is immersed in the oil, the temperature of the water contained in the tank is maintained by transfer of heat through the wall of the tank, without there being obviously mixing this water and this oil.
- This solution poses many practical difficulties, both for the manufacture of the bath for safety and practicality in operation.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a bathtub for infants, which is more effective in maintaining the hot bath water, while being simple to manufacture and use.
- the invention relates to a baby bath, as defined in claim 1.
- One of the basic ideas of the invention is to keep the water contained in the tub of the bath warm, typically around 36 or 37 ° C., by gradually bringing it heat during the bath, in other words by counteracting the loss of heat.
- the invention proposes to integrate in a plastic wall of the tank means for releasing heat, which, before bathing, store heat, by any appropriate means, and then, once the tank was filled with hot water, that is to say at 37 ° C, for the bath, slowly return at least a portion of this heat to the water contained in the tank so as to counteract the effect of heat loss. It is understood that these heat release means are, so to speak, a hot water tank for the bath of the invention.
- the heat release means are based on the principle of heat accumulators, adapting this principle in a clever and effective way to the bath of childcare .
- the bath tub does not have specific design constraints, so that it can take all or part of the specificities of a pre-existing bath and / or it can advantageously be designed from original way, while offering the thermal holding effect associated with the heat release means.
- a baby bath 1 for bathing a toddler for bathing a toddler, the latter being indifferently a newborn, an infant aged less than six months or a baby over six months old.
- the baby bath 1 can be used to bathe a child until the latter is two or three years, as long as the child remains comfortable inside the bath 1 to take a bath .
- the child is only a few months old, it is possible to lie inside the bath 1, taking the precaution of supporting the upper part of his body, with the help of a bathchair or directly by the arm of the adult bathing the child.
- the child Once the child has developed his first motor skills, he can stand himself in a sitting position, inside the tub.
- the bath 1 comprises a tub 2 which, when the tub 1 is used, contains water to bathe the infant.
- the tank 2 does not have to be completely filled with water, but, when served, is only partially filled, with a depth of water which is adapted to the age of the child and which is worth, for example, about ten centimeters.
- the tank 2 also includes a side wall 6 which rises upwardly from the outer periphery of the bottom 4, by running along this outer periphery, so as to delimit, together with the bottom 4, a free volume for contain the bath water.
- the side wall 6 and the bottom 4, made of plastic material, are in particular integral with each other. In the exemplary embodiment considered in the figures, the side wall 6 flares upwards, this embodiment not being limiting.
- the bottom 4 and the side wall 6 of the vessel 2 have a bilobed profile one of which is larger than the other, as clearly visible on the figure 1 on which the right lobe is larger than the left lobe. More precisely, in the exemplary embodiment considered in the figures, this bilobed profile is presented, at the same time, by the external contour of the bottom 4 and by the cross section, that is to say the section in a plane parallel to the upper face 4A of the bottom 4, of the side wall 6, so that the bilobed profile of the upper edge 6A of the side wall 6 is both larger than and substantially homothetic to the bilobed profile of the outer contour of the bottom 4, as clearly visible on the figure 1 .
- This bilobed profile gives the tank 2, when the latter is observed vertically from above, a peanut-shaped contour more expanded on one side than the other.
- This bilobed design of which one of the lobes is larger than the other which is not limiting of the present invention and which could moreover be implemented independently of the other characteristics of the bath 1, makes it possible to distributing the internal volume of the tank 2 into two sub-volumes, which are respectively associated with the two lobes and which have, in a horizontal direction perpendicular to the direction in which the two lobes are opposite, respective different dimensions: the sub-volume , associated with the smaller lobe and being narrower in the aforementioned horizontal direction, facilitates the retention in place of a newborn or an infant of less than six months during the bath, while the sub-volume associated with the larger lobes and being wider in the horizontal direction above, facilitates the seated position of the child when the latter in particular more than six months.
- the upper edge 6A of the side wall 6 is indented in its two portions which connect to each other its opposite portions respectively associated with the two lobes of the aforementioned bilobed profile. Again, the presence of these indentations is not limiting.
- the bath 1 further comprises heat release means 10, which are shown in association with the tank 2 on the figures 1 , 3 and 9 and which are shown alone on the Figures 4 to 7 .
- These heat release means 10 comprise, or even here consist of a heat accumulator 12 and a casing 14 receiving the heat accumulator 12.
- the heat accumulator 12 is, at least essentially, made of a material, which has a high thermal inertia, in particular much greater than the thermal inertia of the water, and which, by means of exposure to a source energy or heat, stores heat and then, once the exposure to the aforementioned energy source or heat is interrupted, gradually restores the heat it has accumulated. Because of its high thermal inertia, the material of the heat accumulator 12 heats up, when exposed to the aforementioned energy or heat source, relatively slowly, although it is noted that the heat transfer can be strengthened and thus, in a way, accelerated by providing that the source of energy or heat is sufficiently powerful. Once the exhibition interrupted, the material of the heat accumulator 12 cooled slowly, releasing the heat previously accumulated gradually and homogeneously, by transferring this heat to the surrounding environment.
- a preferred embodiment for the heat accumulator 12 is to provide that the material of the latter can be heated by microwave radiation: the heat accumulation in this material can then be performed by heating the heat accumulator 12 in a microwave oven, typically a microwave oven for the general public, which is convenient and allows to accumulate a lot of heat quickly.
- a microwave oven typically a microwave oven for the general public
- another source of heat is possible, in particular a hot liquid, such as hot water or a water bath, in which the heat accumulator is immersed.
- heat accumulation can be achieved by placing for a long time, for example several hours, the heat accumulator 12 on a radiator or other heat source available.
- the heat accumulator 12 As a preferred example for the heat accumulator 12, the latter consists of a mixture of peat and water, contained in one or more sealed bags. An alternative example consists of cherry kernels or seeds of certain cereals, contained in one or more pockets, preferably sealed. Another example is mud, especially thermal mud. More generally, various materials known in the art may be used for the heat accumulator 12, in connection with the other considerations of this document.
- the case 14 has an overall shape of wafer, which is hollow so as to define an internal volume within which the heat accumulator 12 is arranged, and this, in practice, permanently and substantially fixed manner.
- the case 14 is made of a plastic material.
- the case 14 thus comprises two main walls 16 and 18, facing one another and, here, substantially discoidal, and a side wall 20, here substantially cylindrical, which connects one to the other the main walls 16 and 18, the walls 16, 18 and 20 jointly delimiting between them the internal volume of the case 14, inside which the heat accumulator 12 is arranged.
- the embodiment of the lateral wall 20 is not limiting of the present invention, as long as this wall 20 provides the fixed connection between the main walls 16 and 18 in order to keep the case 14 closed.
- the wall 20 is in one piece with the one of the two walls 16 and 18 while the other of these walls 16 and 18 is provided for clipping or similar to the wall 20.
- the main walls 16 and 18 of the case of the invention are perforated, being provided with through holes 22 connecting the internal volume of the case 14 to the outside of this case.
- water is free to flow from the outside of the case 14 inside its internal volume, to the surface of the heat accumulator 12, both for the part of this last tour towards the main wall 16 only for the portion of the heat accumulator 12 facing towards the main wall 18.
- the main wall 16 is extended, at its periphery, by a flange 24, which extends outwardly from the side wall 20 and through which there are provided through orifices 26.
- a flange 24 which extends outwardly from the side wall 20 and through which there are provided through orifices 26.
- the main wall 18 it is externally provided with projecting legs 28, here four in number.
- the overall outer shape of the case 14 is provided complementary to a cavity 4B delimited by the bottom 4 of the tank 2, recessed from the upper face 4A of the bottom 4.
- the case 14 is sized to received substantially in the cavity 4B, as shown in FIG. figure 3 .
- the case 14 is thus completely received inside the cavity 4B, so that, on the one hand, the main wall 18 is directed towards the bottom of the cavity 4B, with its feet 28 bearing against the bottom of this cavity, and, on the other hand, the outer face of the main wall 16 extends flush with the upper face 4A of the bottom 4, with the flange 24 received in an adjusted manner in a complementary cavity delimited in the upper face 4A at the outlet of the cavity 4B.
- a free gap is formed, here of annular shape, which, downwards, opens onto the free gap, formed by the feet 28 between the main wall 18 and the bottom of the cavity 4B, and which, towards the top, opens out of the cavity 4B via the through orifices 26 of the collar 24.
- this circulation of the water contained in the tank 2 to the surface of the heat accumulator 12 promotes the convective transfer of heat previously stored by this accumulator 12 to the bath water, while the heat accumulator 12 is held in place relative to the bottom 4 of the tank 2 by the casing 14 received in complementary manner in the cavity 4B.
- the cavity 4B is located in the part of the bottom 4, delimited by the larger of the two lobes of the aforementioned bilobed profile: in this way, the cavity 4B is provided in the part of the bottom 4 widest, as clearly visible on the figure 1 .
- connection between the case 14 and the bottom 4 of the tank 2 is removable: in the embodiment considered here, the complementary cooperation forms between, on the one hand, the cavity 4B of the bottom 4, and secondly, the case 14, more precisely its flange 24 and feet 28, is reversible, as indicated in FIG. figure 9 on which the arrow F1 indicates the establishment, by a downward movement, of the case 14 in the cavity 4B to occupy the configuration, shown in FIG. figure 3 the use of heat release means with the rest of the bath 1, while the arrow F2 indicates the clearance, by an upward movement, of the case 14 vis-à-vis the bottom 4 of the tank 2.
- the heat release means 10 are thus provided removable from the bottom 4 of the tank 2, which has the main advantage of greatly facilitating the exposure of the accumulator heat 12 to the source of energy or heat, described above.
- the removability of the heat release means 10 allows them to be separated from the rest of the tank 2, for to introduce them alone in a microwave oven, by means of the adequate dimensioning of their size, in particular of the maximum external diameter of the case 14. Similar considerations apply in the case where the heat accumulator is intended to be heated by immersion in a hot liquid such as a water bath.
- the size and the position of the heat release means 10 are advantageously optimized to reconcile a reasonable overall size, a discrete arrangement, particularly non-salient, vis-à-vis the walls of the tank 2, a large capacity of prior accumulation of heat, and a good diffusion of this heat to the water contained in the tank 2.
- a handle 32 which, here, is made in the form of a recess passing through the lateral wall. 20, connecting one to the other the respective outer faces of the main walls 16 and 18.
- this carrying handle 32 the hollow form of the latter promoting the flow of water through the case 14.
- a first locking can be obtained by friction or by jamming between the cavity 4B and projecting studs 30, the lateral wall 20 of the case 14 is externally provided and which are distributed according to the periphery of the wall 20, as visible on the Figures 4, 6 and 7 in this way, a substantial effort, which can only be generated by an adult, is then necessary to overcome the interference between these studs 30 and the cavity 4B when the heat release means 10 are to be cleared vis-à-vis from the rest of the tank 2.
- a second lock may be provided at the handle 32.
- the bottom of the cavity 4B is provided with protruding reliefs 34: these reliefs 34 engage inside the handle 32 when the heat release means 10 are in the configuration of use of the figure 3 , so that, in addition to participating in the connection between the case 14 and the bottom 4 of the tank, these reliefs 34 block, in particular by preventing the rotation of the case 14 on itself within the 4B cavity, for example by strong friction or by jamming, the inadvertent release of heat release means 10, where appropriate in cooperation with a locking insert element 36, such as a plug, visible on the figure 1 .
- a locking insert element 36 such as a plug
