Procédé pour faire fonctionner un aspirateur (1) avec une buse d'aspiration (4) selon l'une des revendications 1 à 8 pour aspirer de la saleté et/ou de la poussière, en particulier de la matière grossière et/ou de la poussière fine, d'un sol (5) au moyen d'un flux d'air aspiré et avec un manche (17) pour déplacer manuellement la buse d'aspiration (4) sur le sol, la buse d'aspiration (4) ayant un boîtier (6), une chambre d'aspiration (8) formée à l'intérieur du boîtier (6) et présentant une ouverture côté sol formant une bouche d'aspiration (21), un canal d'aspiration (9) débouchant dans la chambre d'aspiration (8) pour guider le flux d'air aspiré, et un élément de support (12), l'élément de support (12) étant déplacé par rapport du côté inférieur (7) de la buse d'aspiration au moyen d'un actionneur (13), pour augmenter la distance entre la bouche d'aspiration (21) et le sol (5) au moins par parties en étendant l'élément de support (12) et pour réduire la distance entre la bouche d'aspiration (21) et le sol (5) au moins par parties en rétractant l'élément de support (12), l'actionneur (13) étant commandé par un commutateur (18) à commande manuelle disposé sur le manche (17),
    caractérisé en ce que le dispositif de commande (19) est configuré de telle sorte que, lorsque le commutateur (18) est activé manuellement pendant moins d'un temps de commutation prédéterminé, l'actionneur (13) est commandé pour commuter entre la position pour tapis et la position pour sol dur.
