Definitions
- the invention relates to a multi-function cover plate for the carriage of a pistol, and to a pistol having such a multi-function cover plate, according to the preamble of claim 1 and those discussed further below U.S. 2013/0000173 A1 .
- a breech movement e.g. the slide of a pistol moves backwards and - depending on the pistol model - can also be accompanied by a tilting movement of the barrel.
- the cartridge case is pulled out of the cartridge chamber, among other things, and the cartridge or case ejection process is completed.
- the trigger or a trigger device can be cocked, and a reloading process can take place in order to be able to fire a cartridge again.
- Such trigger devices very often comprise a large number of components and are preferably arranged in the handle of the pistol.
- a multi-part cover plate which essentially acts as an additional safety device with the firing pin unit or the trigger unit of a pistol.
- This safety device has an extension on the cover plate, or on a movable part connected to the cover plate, which can be activated by pressing the thumb, for example to block the firing pin device so that a shot can be prevented.
- the slide can be separated from the grip.
- the slide and handle are connected to one another via guide elements and guide rails of complementary shape and can be pushed apart after unlocking.
- the slide can be pulled forwards, i.e. in the direction of travel, from the pistol grip.
- the prior art mostly includes cover plates which have one or more recesses. These recesses are usually designed in such a way as to release the components protruding from the grip in the vertical direction and to enable the carriage to be pulled off.
- the cover plates are often designed in the vertical direction in such a way that the guide rail of the carriage remains free so that the guide elements do not close when the carriage is removed To block.
- a connection between the interior of the pistol and the environment is formed by means of a gap between the carriage and the grip and recesses provided on the back of the carriage.
- the recesses can also serve, among other things, to ensure that, for example in a maritime environment or when the pistol is used after a dive, the water from inside the pistol can escape to the outside more easily.
- dust and/or sand may get on the pistol.
- a further object of the invention is to make the pistol easier to operate, in particular with regard to dismantling and/or actuating the slide during the loading process.
- the cover plate according to the invention also called a multifunctional cover plate, comprises a base part, also called a base plate, which is designed for insertion into a cover plate receptacle provided for this purpose on the carriage and a cover plate that is movable relative to this base plate.
- This cover plate is designed to be movable between an open position, in which the path of movement of the carriage is released for removal from the grip, and a closed position, in which the carriage is outwardly closed on its rear side facing the shooter.
- the design of the cover plate according to the invention which in the closed position largely conceals the slide to the outside, can reduce the undesirable ingress of foreign bodies.
- the cover plate is advantageously in the closed position when the pistol is at rest, as well as when the pistol is being fired, and is only moved to the open position for disassembly of the pistol.
- the base plate of the multifunction cover plate can have one or more recesses which allow the carriage to be removed in the manner described above.
- the base part can be designed to support the firing pin device and/or an extractor unit. It is also possible one Reinforcement plate, often referred to as a circuit board, to be provided on or within the base part.
- the cover plate of the multifunction cover plate can be designed to be displaceable and/or pivotable relative to the base plate. Accordingly, to put it simply, the cover plate can be designed as a type of flap or also as a slide.
- At least one latching connection is provided on the base plate and/or the cover plate in order to enable the cover plate to be temporarily fixed in the open position and/or the closed position. In this way, for example, the risk of an undesired adjustment of the cover plate to the open position during operation can be reduced.
- Mutatis mutandis is the case when disassembling or assembling the pistol, with the cover plate remaining in the open position by itself.
- this latching connection can be expedient to form this latching connection by preferably elastic latching projections and correspondingly arranged latching notches.
- at least one latching extension is formed on the base plate and at least one latching notch is formed on the cover plate, elements of the latching connection that are arranged in reverse are also expressly included in the present disclosure.
- a spring mechanism is designed to apply a prestress to the cover plate in the direction of the closed position.
- the cover plate can, in the best case, be automatically brought into the closed position and the risk of it opening undesirably can be reduced.
- the spring mechanism can be arranged both in the base plate and/or the cover plate.
- the spring mechanism can be constructed in several parts, ie, for example, it can comprise several helical or leaf springs and/or holders. In some embodiments it may be advantageous to form the spring of the spring mechanism in one piece, ie integrally, on one of the components of the multifunction cover plate.
- a flattened area to be formed on the base plate and/or the cover plate to interact with the spring mechanism or to apply the prestress.
- Such a flattening can improve the contact with a spring, in particular a leaf spring, and act like a kind of latching connection.
- the spring mechanism can comprise a leaf spring.
- the spring mechanism may be formed integrally with the base, such as in the form of a leaf spring. It is also possible to form the spring mechanism on a separate component, such as a fastening element, or on the cover plate.
- the integral design also has the advantage that the total number of components is reduced, which is reflected in the ease of use and disassembly.
- the cover plate can furthermore be made for the cover plate to be designed to be rotatable or pivotable on the base plate about a pivot axis which preferably runs in the transverse direction.
- the opening direction of the cover plate can thus be provided by a person skilled in the art normal to the running direction about a vertical axis or also in the horizontal direction.
- a multifunctional cover plate designed in this way can have at least one hinge-like joint for easy connection of the cover plate to the base plate.
- this joint can be designed to be elastic, for example by means of pins on a rotary extension of the cover plate and pockets of complementary shape on the receptacle of the base plate.
- it can be advantageous to form the articulated connection by means of a pin, about which the cover plate can rotate. It should be relatively easy for the average person skilled in the art to design a connection between the base plate and the cover plate on the basis of the present disclosure.
- the base plate has at least one guide groove for interacting with at least one guide extension of the cover plate that is complementary in shape and function. Again, it is up to the person skilled in the art to adapt the sliding or pivoting direction, depending on the intended size and shape of the multifunction cover plate, to his needs with relatively little effort on the basis of the present disclosure.
- the base plate and/or the cover plate has extensions that are designed to protrude laterally opposite the carriage, at least on one side. In this way, simplified operation of the cover plate and/or the carriage, e.g. during a manual loading process, can be achieved.
- contours and/or outer surfaces of the multifunctional cover plate with a surface structure.
- This can be in the form of knobs, ribbing or the like and can make it easier for the operator to grip, disassemble and possibly even operate the carriage, e.g. during a manual loading process.
- the weapon has a central weapon plane that runs through the barrel axis and is oriented vertically, which, cum grano salis, forms a plane of symmetry.
- the 1 shows an example of an exploded view of a pistol with only a few main assemblies, such as a slide 1, a barrel 12, a return spring group or closing spring unit 13 and a grip or frame 14.
- main assemblies such as a slide 1, a barrel 12, a return spring group or closing spring unit 13 and a grip or frame 14.
- a cover plate 15 or a multifunction cover plate 2 can be at least partially accommodated.
- the 1 applies to all exemplary embodiments and is primarily intended to provide a better understanding of the installation situation of the multifunction cover plate 2 .
- cover plate 15 In 2 a previously known cover plate 15 and some exemplary embodiments for multifunctional cover plates 2 can be seen.
- a cover plate 15 As is very often installed in pistols in a known manner. It consists essentially only of the base plate 21, which is designed in such a way that it can be pushed into the cover plate receptacle 11 and thereby closes the carriage on the back. Compare the dotted movement arrow in 1 .
- Inside the cover plate 15 there is a circuit board 22 which is made of metal and serves to reinforce the cover plate 15 .
- Two recesses 23 can be seen on the underside of the cover plate 15, which serve as passages for the ejector and the control spring when the carriage 1 is removed from the grip 14.
- figs 2b, 2c and 2d exemplary embodiments of multifunctional cover plates 2 according to the invention can be seen, each of which has a cover plate 31 which is designed to be movable relative to a modified base plate 21 .
- the 3 shows an example of a carriage 1 with a mounted multifunction cover plate 2 in a closed position 311 ( Figure 3a ), as well as an open position 312 ( Figure 3b ). It is clearly visible in the open position 312 that the cover plate 31 is designed to be pivotable to the rear to such an extent that the movement path for removing the carriage 1 to the front, i.e. in the direction of travel 91, is released, even if the aforementioned components of the handle 14, which are not shown for the sake of simplicity, are arranged in the handle.
- a snap-in connection 32 can be seen very clearly, which in the present exemplary embodiment is formed from a snap-in extension 33 on the base plate 21 and two snap-in notches 34 on the cover plate 31 . Using this latching connection 32, two latching positions can be formed in a relatively simple manner, which correspond to the closed and open positions 311 and 312, respectively.
- FIG. 6 is a perspective view of a multifunction cover plate 2 seen obliquely from the front.
- the base plate 21 can be seen in which a circuit board 22 can be received. Furthermore, recesses 23 on the base plate 21 can be seen. It can also be easily understood from this illustration that the cover plate 31 is the base plate when viewed from below and/or from the side 21 is extended in the closed position 311 and thus seals the carriage 1 relatively well on the back.
- the 7 shows the multifunction cover plate 2 6 viewed from behind in an exploded view.
- the 8 which has a cross-section in the running direction 91 on the plane CC' 4 represents, the formation of a hinge joint by means of a pin 37 about a pivot axis 38 can be understood very well in the installation situation.
- an additional recess at the upper edge of the multifunction cover plate 2 can also be seen.
- This additional recess can be provided on the base plate 21 in order to facilitate the disassembly and assembly of the extractor unit, for example in order to actuate it with a disassembly pin.
- FIG. 9 is a cross section in the transverse direction 92 through the rear region of the carriage 1 in the closed position 311, analogous to FIG 4 , evident. Mutatis mutandis this applies to 10 analogous to figure 5 .
- This embodiment is also provided with a cover plate 31 that can be pivoted about a pivot axis 38 .
- a spring mechanism 35 can be seen, which can in principle be designed to be compatible with all embodiments according to the invention.
- the assembly of the multifunction cover plate 2 of this embodiment can very well from the exploded views of figs 11 and 12 be traced.
- the spring mechanism 35 is installed by a fastener 40 which can be inserted into the base plate 21 from the rear.
- the spring mechanism 35 is integrally formed on the fastening element 40 in the form of a type of leaf spring and acts downward when the cover plate 31 is installed.
- FIG. 14 1 is another embodiment of a multifunction cover plate 2 installed in a carriage 1 in the closed position 311.
- FIG. This is an example with a cover plate 31 which is designed to be displaceable relative to the base plate.
- the direction of displacement between the closed position 311 and the open position 312 can be designed at an angle or, for reasons of space, normal to the direction of travel 91, as can be seen from a synopsis with the figs 15 to 19 turns out well.
- lateral extensions 39 are also formed on the base plate 21 here, but these are not absolutely necessary.
- the cover plate 31 can as in synopsis with the figs 19 and 20 can be seen very clearly, can be simply inserted into the base plate 21 from below and, as shown in the present illustrations, is also supported by it on several sides. In principle, it is also conceivable to design the cover plate to be displaceable laterally, ie, for example, in the transverse direction 92 .
- the cover plate 31 is connected to the base plate 21 via at least one sliding connection or a pair of guides.
- a guide pair can unilaterally or, as in the figs 17 to 19 can be seen very well, also be developed on both sides.
- the pair of guides can thus have at least one guide groove 41 and a guide extension 42 that is complementary in form and function.
- the orientation or arrangement of these elements can of course also be reversed on the base plate 21 and cover plate 31 .
- This can be designed as a simple tongue and groove connection, or as a dovetail connection, for example, in order to make tilting transverse to the direction of displacement more difficult.
- cover plate 31 it is also within the scope of the invention not to allow the cover plate 31 to disappear completely within the base plate 21, as in the preferred illustrated variant, but that the cover plate 31 can also be arranged outside the base plate 21.
- the features designed below can also be arranged at least partially outside of the base plate 21, such as a pair of guides or a snap-in connection 32.
- the sliding variants can also be implemented with a spring mechanism 35 which preferably urges the cover plate 31 into the closed position 311 .
- a spring mechanism 35 which preferably urges the cover plate 31 into the closed position 311 .
- a leaf spring can be formed, preferably integrally, on the slide-shaped cover plate 31 . See, for example, the explanations for the second exemplary embodiment.
- One or more latching connections 32 can also be combined very well with a displaceably arranged cover plate 31, as is the case in FIGS figs 19 and 20 emerges.
- the cross section CC' in 20 is appropriate 17 chosen so that the latching extensions 33 on the base plate 21 and the form and function complementary latching notches 34 are particularly easy to recognize.
- This snap-in connection 32 can also be designed optionally, for example if a spring mechanism 35 is provided and you want to keep the cover plate 31 in the open position 312 to further simplify the operability. It is also conceivable to provide an additional element, such as a fastening element 40 for arranging a latching connection 32 and/or a spring mechanism 35, or also the sliding connection.
- substantially means a deviation of up to 10% of the specified value, if physically possible, both upwards and downwards, otherwise only in the sensible direction.
- the term: “combination” or “combinations” stands, unless otherwise stated, for all types of combinations, starting from two of the components concerned up to a plurality or all such components, the term: “containing” also stands for “consisting out of”.
