Definitions
- the present invention relates to a household dishwasher with at least one air outlet for blowing out particularly moist air from a washing container in which dishes, glasses, cutlery and similar items to be washed can be processed, according to the preamble of claim 1 or claim 2.
- the US 2017/290489 A1 Air from the washing compartment of its washing container is sucked through an opening in a side wall of the washing container into a condensation channel running from top to bottom with the help of a fan provided at the lower outlet of the condensation channel close to the floor and is then blown out from there (on the same side of the washing container as the condensation channel) only locally into the environment via an outlet channel leading out to the front in the lateral end area of the baseboard of the dishwasher below the front door.
- the invention is based on the problem of achieving good drying of dishes with a minimized impact on furniture, floors or other areas adjacent to the household dishwasher.
- a structural unit comprising at least one air outlet extends over at least half the width of the household dishwasher and comprises a wide, slot-shaped blow-out opening in its upper region and a collecting tank for condensate in its lower region
- the slot-shaped blow-out opening ensures that the blown-out, usually moist air is distributed over a large area, so that high local water loads are avoided.
- the collecting tank in the lower region ensures that condensate can largely remain in the structural unit and flow back downwards into the collecting tank without escaping from the air outlet and without being able to moisten surrounding furniture or the floor.
- the air outlet extends as a slot outlet over at least half the width of the domestic dishwasher, in particular its base support, results in a wide distribution of the escaping moisture-laden and/or water-vaporous wash chamber air.
- the slot outlet preferably has a large slot width and a small slot height in relation to this.
- the wash chamber air flowing out of the wash chamber of the washing container is thus distributed over many outlet points along the width of the slot outlet.
- a locally high, i.e. locally concentrated wash chamber air volume flow as would be generated in a domestic dishwasher with only a single air outlet with an approximately circular passage cross-sectional area at the outlet of this single air outlet, and which would be accompanied by a locally high moisture ingress into furniture, is avoided.
- the moist and/or water-vaporous wash chamber air that flows out of the wash chamber over at least is blown out through a slot outlet extending over half the width of the household dishwasher is distributed so finely over a larger area outside the household dishwasher according to the invention that it can mix better with the ambient air, which is drier than it.
- Moisture and/or water vapor contained in the wash cabinet air blown out over at least half the width of the household dishwasher using the slot outlet according to the invention can be absorbed better by the ambient air.
- a reduced volume flow of moist and/or water vapor-containing wash cabinet air escapes locally at each point on the slot outlet in comparison to a concentrated wash cabinet air volume flow flowing out from a single, e.g.
- the slot outlet ensures a local dilution of the air coming from the washing compartment of the washing container and the moisture content contained therein in the ambient air. Condensation of moisture on the front of the domestic dishwasher, in particular its front door, can be reduced or even largely avoided in this way. In particular, this largely prevents condensate droplets from combining to form larger liquid droplets and then running or dripping down from the air outlet onto the floor at the installation location of the domestic dishwasher.
- the distribution of the blown-out washing compartment air over at least half the width of the domestic dishwasher, in particular its front door, generated by the slot outlet may even make it possible for the volume flow of blown-out washing compartment air per outlet point of the outlet slot to be so low that the locally distributed washing compartment air blown out across the width of the outlet slot can hardly or only insignificantly be perceived by a user of the domestic dishwasher.
- the exit passage cross-sectional area is expediently smaller, in particular significantly smaller, than the entry passage cross-sectional area of the air outlet according to the invention. This causes an increase in the flow velocity of the air blown out of the slot outlet into the environment. Washroom air compared to the flow velocity of the washroom air upstream before entering the slot outlet. This further reduces the risk of undesirable condensate accumulation and water dripping on the outlet side of the slot outlet.
- a modular, flexible structure of the structural unit comprising at least one air outlet is ensured.
- the structural unit can be positioned differently in the depth direction of the domestic dishwasher and can also be covered with different, in particular different height, panels below the extending blow-out opening.
- the structural unit comprising at least one air outlet is formed integrally with the exhaust opening and at least one inlet opening and a condensation area, so that it is easy to assemble as a whole unit and can also be manufactured inexpensively.
- the structural unit comprising at least one air outlet is formed in one piece and can be manufactured inexpensively and quickly, for example by injection molding or a similar method.
- the air outlet is preferably at least 40 centimeters wide in total, a good distribution of the moist air is guaranteed with only a low probability of water falling out at specific points.
- the air outlet is designed as a flat slot outlet with a height to width ratio of less than 1:10, particularly advantageously less than 1:20.
- a high discharge surface can be achieved.
- the air outlet can be divided into several partial slots that are aligned next to one another, for example into two to three partial slots next to one another, each of which has stiffening vertical bars as a stable separation from one another.
- the air outlet is located on the front of the household dishwasher facing the user, the air escaping there, which is often laden with moisture, can spread quickly and over a large area in the surrounding room.
- the air outlet is arranged in such a way that the assembly unit that includes it is located at the very bottom of the front of the household dishwasher, in particular on the front of a base.
- a front panel is usually installed here anyway. Since the assembly unit is very flat - preferably less than 5 centimeters - outside of the protruding exhaust opening and a rear connection flange for the air inlet, very little space is required in the depth direction.
- the assembly unit preferably extends over the entire width of the front of the household dishwasher.
- the air outlet can protrude towards the front of the unit in such a way that the blow-out opening points further forward than the outer walls of the condensation area, especially by several centimeters. This is particularly useful with a recessed base, as the air outlet then finds an otherwise unused space at the top of the base below the door. Because the blow-out opening is at the top of the unit, condensation can also flow back down into the unit, further minimizing the risk of dripping.
- the air outlet can be advantageously installed on the upper edge of a plinth board or a baseboard or skirting board.
- its air outlet sits with the lower edge of its forward-facing projection preferably on the upper edge of the baseboard; its preferably vertically extending condensation area is arranged behind the baseboard.
- the structural unit can be positioned on it in a simple, assembly-friendly manner so that it is always ensured that the blow-out opening is arranged above the upper edge of the baseboard, thus enabling the air to be blown out freely from the washing compartment. Shading of the blow-out path of the air from the blow-out opening of the air outlet by a baseboard placed in front of the structural unit is thus always avoided.
- the exhaust opening can advantageously have a constant height across its width.
- the condensation area can also have a consistent depth, whereby a panel can be conveniently arranged in front of it at the front in order to achieve a uniform design with other kitchen furniture.
- a very effective way to prevent water dripping out is to form the blow-out opening as a very narrow gap between an upper lip and a lower lip and the lower lip runs steadily upwards from the condensation area to the blow-out opening. Water that forms over the entire area up to the blow-out opening can then reliably flow back into the assembly and the collecting tank without getting into the environment. When the household dishwasher is not in use, any water that has collected there can then evaporate.
- the upper lip has a drip edge on its downward-facing side, which is located above the lower lip. Water that forms on this drip edge then reliably lands on the lower lip when dripping and can flow back without getting out.
- the lower lip Preferably, To do this, push your lower lip further than your upper lip towards the front of the dishwasher.
- an air duct In order to transport moist air from the flush tank to the air outlet, an air duct, particularly several tens of centimeters long, can be arranged in front of the unit from the flush tank, which can be flexibly connected to the inlet of the unit. The unit then does not have to fit exactly in the depth direction, but can be mounted flexibly. Retrofitting to existing systems may also be possible.
- the air duct in particular can have a variable length up to the connection to the inlet of the structural unit and, for example, form a bellows hose at least in some areas.
- a high level of efficiency can be achieved if the air outlet can be controlled by at least one conveying device such as a fan wheel, thereby supplying the air from the rinsing tank to the air duct.
- the slot-shaped air outlet can be controlled by at least one air conveying device such as a fan wheel, i.e. it can be supplied with air from the washing chamber of the washing container.
- the air conveying device is fluidically connected upstream, preferably via the air duct, to at least one air outlet opening of the washing container or to at least one air outlet opening of the inner door of the front door. Downstream, an exhaust air duct or blow-out duct preferably leads from the air conveying device to the slot-shaped air outlet. If the air conveying device is activated, i.e.
- the air conveying device can preferably be in the lower area of the Household dishwasher should be arranged behind the air outlet in the depth direction.
- the fan wheel or similar can then be at approximately the same height as the air outlet itself and arranged in the base or base support of the household dishwasher to save space.
- the air duct begins very advantageously within the upper 50%, in particular 30%, of the height of the washing container in one of its walls, which creates a long path for possible condensation.
- the air duct can in particular be at least 40 centimeters long. It is also advantageous if it initially runs upwards from its start at the air outlet opening in the wall of the washing container or the front door, so that any condensation that forms can run back into the washing container and not remain in the air duct.
- the air outlet can be controlled by at least one air conveying element such as a fan wheel, i.e. can be supplied with wash chamber air from the wash chamber of the washing container.
- the air conveying element is fluidically connected upstream, preferably via an air duct, to at least one air outlet opening of the washing container or to at least one air outlet opening of the inner door of the front door. Downstream, an exhaust air duct preferably leads from the air conveying element to the air outlet. If the air conveying element is activated, i.e. switched on, it sucks wash chamber air from the wash chamber of the washing container via the upstream air duct to the air conveying element and then blows it through the downstream exhaust air duct to the air outlet.
- the air conveying element can preferably be arranged in the lower area of the household dishwasher in the depth direction behind the air outlet.
- the fan wheel or similar can then preferably be located at approximately the same height as the air outlet itself and arranged in the base or base support of the household dishwasher to save space.
- the air duct begins very advantageously within the top 50%, in particular 30%, of the height of the washing container in one of its walls, which creates a long path for possible condensation.
- the air duct can in particular be at least 40 centimeters long. It is also advantageous if it initially runs upwards from its start at the air outlet opening in the wall of the washing container or the front door, so that any condensation that forms can flow back into the washing container and not remain in the air duct.
- an exhaust duct or exhaust air duct extending between the at least one (air) conveying element and the air outlet, which is designed with a reduced cross-section compared to the air duct that leads from the washing container, in particular from an air outlet opening in a wall, in particular a side wall, of the washing container or in an inner door wall of the front door, to the conveying element.
- the flow speed of the washing chamber air sucked out of the washing chamber of the washing container by means of the conveying element in the exhaust duct is increased compared to the flow speed of the washing chamber air in the air duct in front of the conveying element, so that there is only little condensation behind the conveying element in the vicinity of the air outlet and thus the formation of water and the risk of water dripping out of the air outlet is minimized.
- the fan wheel or a similar conveying device can be controlled in a timed manner, even over a period of several days. It can also be controlled via a moisture sensor in the washing container.
- the household dishwasher can then also serve as a storage area for dishes, glasses, cutlery and the like and can dry these previously washed items in phases over several days.
- the blowing out of the washing chamber air from the household dishwasher according to the invention via its slot outlet can therefore not only be carried out during the drying cycle of the washing cycle of at least one dishwashing program to be carried out, but if necessary also later after the end of the drying cycle of the washing cycle during one or more night drying cycles for the night drying of the dishes stored in the washing chamber.
- Such night drying can be desired if the door is not opened by the user or an automatic door opening system immediately after the end of the drying cycle of the washing cycle of the respective dishwashing program to be carried out, but remains closed for a longer period of time, in particular for at least 6 hours to several days, such as for up to 96 hours.
- This storage of dishes in the washing chamber of the washing container with the door closed after the end of the drying phase of a dishwashing program that has been carried out is referred to as the "storage function".
- at least one air conveying element is activated from time to time for a specific period of time in order to effect a subsequent drying of the wash items in the wash cabinet by an exchange of wash cabinet air with ambient air or to largely avoid rewetting of the wash items, and then deactivated again.
- the household appliance shown schematically here is a dishwasher 1, specifically a household dishwasher.
- Other household appliances 1 with a drying function for the items to be processed are also fundamentally suitable for a design according to the invention.
- the household dishwasher 1 described below according to Figure 1 has, as part of a device body 5 that is partially open or closed to the outside, a washing container 2 for holding items to be washed, such as dishes, pots, cutlery, glasses, cooking utensils, etc.
- the items to be washed can be held in dish baskets 11 and/or a cutlery drawer 10, for example, and can be exposed to so-called washing liquor.
- the washing liquor is understood to be fresh water or, in particular, water that circulates during operation, with or without cleaning agents and/or rinse aid and/or drying agents.
- the washing liquor has passed through an ion exchanger for softening.
- the washing liquor can also be mixed with more or less dirt from ongoing operation.
- the washing container 2 can have an at least essentially rectangular floor plan with a front side V facing a user in the operating position.
- This front side V can form part of a kitchen front made up of kitchen units standing next to one another, or, in the case of a stand-alone device, can also be without reference to other units of furniture.
- the washing container 2 can be closed particularly at this front side V by a front door or flap 3.
- This door 3 is in Figure 1 shown in a partially open position and then at an angle to the vertical. In its closed position, however, it stands upright and, as shown in the drawing, is inclined to its opening around a lower horizontal axis. Can be swung forwards and downwards in the direction of arrow 4 so that in the fully open position it is at least almost horizontal.
- the door 3 can be provided with a decorative panel 6 on its outer and front side V, which is vertical in the closed position and faces the user, in order to thereby experience a visual and/or tactile enhancement and/or an adaptation to surrounding kitchen furniture.
- the domestic dishwasher is designed here as a stand-alone or as a so-called partially integrated or fully integrated device.
- the device body 5 can also essentially be flush with the outer walls of the washing container 2.
- a housing surrounding this on the outside can then be dispensed with.
- a base 12 for accommodating functional elements in particular, such as a pump for circulating the washing solution, and also an air outlet 14, described further below.
- the movable door 3 is assigned in its upper area a control panel 8 which extends in the transverse direction Q of the domestic dishwasher and can comprise an access opening 7 accessible from the front V for manually opening and/or closing the door 3.
- the domestic dishwasher In the transverse direction Q, the domestic dishwasher often has an extension of 45, 50 or 60 centimeters. In the depth direction T from the front V to the rear, the extension is often also around 60 centimeters. The values are not mandatory.
- the rinsing container 2 When the front door or flap 3 is closed, the rinsing container 2 is delimited all around by a total of three fixed vertical walls 13 and two horizontal walls 13, one of which forms a ceiling (top) and another a floor (bottom) of the rinsing container 2.
- the front side V facing the user is bordered in the transverse direction Q by a left upright side wall 13 to the left and a right upright side wall 13 to the right.
- the wall 13 forming the bottom of the washing container 2 and essentially delimiting it downwards lies approximately horizontally above the base 12, i.e. parallel to an outer floor B on which the domestic dishwasher 1 can stand.
- a higher installation for example at the height of a worktop, is also possible, especially within a cupboard.
- the lower edge of the domestic dishwasher 1 is then approximately 70 to 110 centimeters above the floor in the installed position.
- the domestic dishwasher 1 is provided with at least one air outlet 14 for blowing out particularly moist air from the washing container 2.
- This is part of a structural unit 15, which in total has a size of approximately Figure 2
- the structural unit 15 comprising at least one air outlet 14 extends over at least half the width Q of the domestic dishwasher 1. According to the drawing, the structural unit 15 preferably extends over the entire width Q of the domestic dishwasher.
- the structural unit 15 includes, among other things, a protruding, slot-shaped blow-out opening 16 in its upper area and a collecting tank 17 for condensate in its lower area.
- the blow-out opening 16 faces the front V of the domestic dishwasher 1 and protrudes several centimeters from a front wall 18 of a condensation area 19.
- an inlet opening 20 is provided which opens into the condensation area 19 and here, for example, comprises a protruding flange for sliding on a hose.
- the structural unit 15 integrally comprises the functional parts 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 and possibly 21 mentioned. It can be designed in a modular manner and can be assembled prefabricated.
- the condensation area 19 is designed as an internal cavity which protrudes and extends considerably in the transverse direction Q of the device 1. In the depth direction T, however, the extension is very small to save space and is typically only about one to three centimeters.
- the front wall of the condensation area 19, which is in contact with the room air in the mounted position, can form a cooling surface and can be provided with cooling fins 21, for example.
- the front wall 18 has a material with a high heat capacity. It can be cooled purely by the ambient air, by water or other materials.
- the air flowing from there to the front V of the An exhaust opening 16 extending beyond the domestic dishwasher 1 and an inlet opening 20 leading into the condensation area at the rear are integrally included.
- the lower collecting tank 17 can also be an integral part of the structural unit 15 and preferably extend over the entire width of the condensation area 19 in order to reliably collect water that forms there.
- the structural unit 15 comprising the air outlet 14 can in particular be formed in one piece, for example from plastic.
- the single or multi-part air outlet 14 is at least 40 centimeters wide.
- the air outlet is designed in accordance with Figure 2 designed as a flat slot outlet with a height to width ratio of less than 1:10, in particular also less than 1:20. Then, for example, in the case of a 40 centimetre wide air outlet 4, its height in the vertical direction H is preferably less than approx. 2 centimetres.
- the air outlet 14 can be divided into several partial slots that are aligned next to one another. These do not all have to be the same length. It is important that a wide air outlet 14 is created overall, which enables a high air throughput in order to achieve a wide distribution of the moisture contained in the air.
- the air outlet 14 is conveniently arranged on the front side V of the domestic dishwasher 1 facing a user. It can then blow out into the space in front of the domestic dishwasher 1 and distribute the moisture well so that the moist air does not disappear inside built-in furniture and could cause damage there.
- the air outlet 14 is preferably arranged such that the structural unit 15 comprising it is arranged at the very bottom end of the front side V of the domestic dishwasher 1.
- the structural unit 15 is fixed at the front end of the base 12 and can itself be covered by a front panel towards the front side V.
- the structural unit 15 preferably extends over the entire width Q of the front V of the household dishwasher 1.
- the air outlet 14 is arranged at the upper end of the structural unit 15. It protrudes forwards towards the front V compared to the other outer walls of the structural unit in such a way that the blow-out opening 16 points further forward, in particular by several centimeters, than the front outer wall 18 of the condensation area 19.
- the inner cavity extends from the condensation area 19 initially at least almost vertically upwards and then goes upwards into the air outlet 14, which is located horizontally here, such as the Figures 2 and 3 can be seen.
- the blow-out opening 16 preferably has a constant height across its width so that the liquid distribution is also uniform.
- Internal air guiding devices - not shown here - can ensure that even areas of the air outlet 14 that are far out in the transverse direction Q are supplied with air evenly.
- the air outlet 14 can be attached to the upper edge of a baseboard or a skirting board or baseboard.
- the air outlet 14 sits with the lower edge of its forward-facing projection on the upper edge of the baseboard.
- a base board SB is indicated in dash-dotted lines.
- the vertically extending condensation area 19 is arranged behind the base board SB.
- the structural unit 15 can be positioned on it in a simple, easy-to-assemble manner so that it is always ensured that the blow-out opening is arranged above the upper edge of the base board, thus allowing the air to be blown out freely from the washing compartment. Shading of the blow-out path of the air from the blow-out opening 16 of the air outlet 14 by a base board SB placed in front of the structural unit 15 is thus always avoided.
- blow-out opening 16 is formed as a wide slot of low height between an upper lip 23 and a lower lip 24 and the lower lip 24 extends continuously from the condensation area to the blow-out opening. rising. Water dripping onto the lower lip is then reliably guided back into the condensation area 19 and the collecting tank 17 and does not drip into the outside area. When the household dishwasher 1 is not in use, the condensate collected in the channel-shaped collecting tank can evaporate again.
- the upper lip 23 can have a drip edge 25 on its downward-facing side, which is located above the lower lip 24, i.e. is offset slightly inwards from the actual blow-out opening 16, for example by 4 to 8 millimeters. Water from the drip edge 25 then reliably hits the lower lip 24 and can flow back.
- the lower lip 24 can be extended further than the upper lip 23 for this purpose.
- an air duct 26 in particular several tens of centimeters long, coming from the washing container 2 is arranged upstream of the air outlet 14.
- This air duct 26 begins high up in the washing container 2, in particular at least within the upper 50% of the height H of the washing container 2 in one of its walls 13. It is particularly advantageous for the rising water vapor to begin in the upper 50%, in particular 30%, of the height of the washing container 2, for example in a side wall 13.
- the air duct 26 It is very advantageous for the air duct 26 to have a variable length up to the connection to the inlet 20 of the structural unit 15. This is possible, for example, using a bellows hose.
- the arrangement of the structural unit 15 is therefore variable in the depth direction T.
- a fan wheel or similar conveying device is provided to convey air from the washing container 2 to the air outlet 14. This can be controlled in particular. Alternatively and particularly effectively, the conveying device is controlled by a moisture sensor that provides a measure of the current moisture of the items in the washing container.
- the conveyor is only switched on now and again to repeatedly convey moist air out of the washing container 2 and thus maintain the quality of the cleaning of the items to be washed over a longer period of time. Due to the short effective running times, the energy requirement is low - as is the noise pollution caused by at least one fan wheel or similar conveying device.
- the items to be washed can then be stored in the washing container 2 for several days.
- the invention significantly reduces the risk of condensation at the air outlet 14.
- the dew point of the air is also reduced by the upstream condenser 19.
