  • One embodiment of the invention relates to a method for operating a delivery device for an aqueous urea solution in a motor vehicle, with a pump for delivering the aqueous urea solution, the aqueous urea solution being delivered from a tank to an injector along a pressure line, the injector being connected to a exhaust line is arranged and is designed for injecting the aqueous urea solution into the exhaust line, the delivery speed of the pump depending on the opening and closing processes of the injector and / or the resulting pressure conditions in the delivery section between the pump and the injector is controlled.
  • the opening frequency is reduced. It is particularly advantageous if the opening frequency is approximately one to four hertz. This has the disadvantage that the opening time of the injectors has to be correspondingly longer in order to nevertheless deliver the same or even a higher volume. This results in a drop in pressure within the pressure line.
  • the conveying device basically has a pressure controller that works on the principle of a PID controller. In a device known from the prior art, such a pressure drop within the pressure line would be compensated for by the PID controller. However, regulators of this type have an inertia, which means that it is not possible to compensate for the resulting pressure drop quickly enough and accurately enough.

By promoting when the injector is closed, the system pressure is maintained, especially in the pressure line directly in front of the injector. If the injector remains closed and is therefore not injected into the exhaust line, the fluid is pumped back into the tank by means of a bypass circuit that can be provided. Thus, a constant system pressure is maintained by a preselected rotational speed of the pump. During operation, the pump is constantly operated at this preselected rotational speed.
