Definitions
- the invention relates to a value document with a paper substrate.
- Security threads of the above-mentioned type are typically used to increase the counterfeit security of valuable documents or security papers, such as banknotes, ID cards, tickets, etc. Often, the security elements are partially incorporated into a valuable document or security paper and are visible in the area of windows.
- a security element of the type mentioned above is, for example, from the EP2753753A1
- Security elements according to the preamble of claim 1 are known from EP1997643A2 and the WO2019/034398A1 became known
- the invention is based on the object of improving a good anchoring of the security element in the value document and at the same time enabling an increase in the security against forgery.
- security element also includes a security thread.
- the following explanations therefore also refer to a security element in the form of a security thread.
- the solution according to the invention enables, on the one hand, a good anchoring of the security element in the value document, since when the security element is embedded in a substrate of the value document during the manufacturing process, for example a paper mass, a The substrate material can penetrate the holes and thus anchor the security element in the valuable document.
- the decorative layer can effectively conceal the actual shape of the embedded security element, so that the user can see through the decorative layer a different shape than the actual shape of the security element with the naked eye, thus creating a security feature that is difficult to counterfeit.
- Areas inside and outside the decorative layer can, for example, be provided with additional security features, in particular machine-readable security features.
- the holes are designed as through holes that completely penetrate the security element.
- the decorative layer In order to conceal the actual shape of the security element, it has proven particularly advantageous for the decorative layer to be a partial layer and/or to have a smaller width than the security element.
- the at least one decorative layer comprises or is made from at least one metallic material, in particular selected from the group consisting of aluminum, silver, copper, gold, platinum, niobium, tin, or nickel, titanium, vanadium, chromium, cobalt, iron, tungsten, molybdenum, niobium, palladium or alloys of these materials, in particular cobalt-nickel alloys, and/or at least one material selected from the group consisting of zinc sulfide (ZnS), zinc oxide (ZnO), titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ), carbon (C), indium oxide (In 2 O 3 ), indium tin oxide (ITO), tantalum pentoxide (Ta 2 O 5 ), cerium oxide (CeO 2 ), yttrium oxide (Y 2 O 3 ), europium oxide (Eu 2 O 3 ), iron oxides such as, for example, iron(III) oxide (Fe 3 O 4 ) and iron oxide (Fe 2
- the decorative layer can have at least two different colors and/or at least one color-shift effect and in particular can comprise or be formed by color-shifting pigments, in particular interference pigments, pigments with a color-shifting thin-film structure or liquid crystal pigments, and/or at least one color-shifting thin-film element that produces a color impression in daylight when viewed up and/or through and/or through the material and/or metals that have at least two different color impressions.
- color-shifting pigments in particular interference pigments, pigments with a color-shifting thin-film structure or liquid crystal pigments, and/or at least one color-shifting thin-film element that produces a color impression in daylight when viewed up and/or through and/or through the material and/or metals that have at least two different color impressions.
