Abstract

La présente invention concerne des compositions ignifuges et des compositions polymères bromées ignifuges destinées à être utilisées dans les fils et/ou les câbles. Les ignifuges bromés contiennent du brome lié aromatiquement et, dans plusieurs cas, sont considérés comme des polymères styréniques bromés. Les ignifuges bromés ont une masse moléculaire moyenne en poids (Mw) d'environ 650 à environ 75 000 et une teneur en brome d'environ 60 % en poids ou plus. La présente invention concerne également un procédé de préparation d'une composition ignifuge utilisant différents procédés de durcissement, y compris, mais sans s'y limiter, le durcissement par faisceau d'électrons et le durcissement au peroxyde.
