Abstract

A dosing reservoir for receiving and discharging a liquid for treating laundry in a washing machine or similar comprises a closure which can be opened during the laundry treatment cycle with a handling extension projecting above the surrounding surface of the dosing reservoir. To facilitate use, the invention proposes that the closure part (4) is lodged in a cage (7) which penetrates the interior of the dosing reservoir (1) and that the tip (8) of the handling extension (6) which projects freely when the reservoir is closed is approximately level with, or above, the surrounding wall (3) of the dosing reservoir.
