Abstract

1. Shopping cart comprising: - A passenger compartment formed by a bottom and four side walls in which a plurality of emptyings have been made and where said side walls extend upwards from said bottom, one of the side walls being a swing door (1) vertically to allow stacking between carts; - At least one handle (2) for driving the car located at least in correspondence with the swing door (1); - A support frame for the passenger compartment which in its lower part comprises legs (3) provided with wheels (4); characterized in that it additionally comprises a basket (5) located outside the passenger compartment, fastened on the side wall (6) opposite the swing door (1), where the bottom of said basket (5) is less than the stacking distance between cars.

which does not prevent stacking between adjacent cars nor does it reduce the stacking distance, each of which is housed inside the car interior into which it is inserted into said stack. In this way, the number of stackable cars in a given length is not affected by the presence of the baskets (5) or, in other words, a row of n number of cars will occupy the same length whether they incorporate the basket

(5) or not.

Even more important is the fact that the presence of the basket (5) in the cars does not prevent them from being stacked with other cars that, although identical, do not include the

On the other hand, the basket (5) is preferably located below the upper edge of the

15 side wall (6) of the car to allow the user to grab the car by said edge and, in the specific case shown in the figures in which there is a handle (2), the basket (5) is placed on the side wall (6 ) so that it does not intersect with said handle (2) in order not to prevent the user from grabbing the car comfortably by it.

In addition, according to possible alternative embodiments, the basket (5) is prevented from being flush with the rest of the edges of the side wall (6), side and bottom for a double reason:

Therefore, according to a possible embodiment of the invention, if the dimensions of the side wall of the carriage are, for example, 440 mm wide x 420 mm high, the stacking distance being 195 mm, a possible dimensions of the basket that took into account all of the above would be those of said basket having a width of 308 mm, a height of 280 mm and a depth of 173 mm.
