Abstract
Circuit for operating a magnoelastic sensor, which decreases the dependence of the sensor signal (34) on the distance between the sensor coil (16) and object to be measured (10). The sensor coil (16) is complemented with a capacitor (30) and an attenuating resistor (32) to form an oscillating circuit with adjustable attenuation. By a suitable choice of the resistance of the attenuating resistor (32), the inductivity of the sensor coil (16), the capacitance of the capacitor (30), as well as of the frequency (f) of the power source (20) required for operation, the circuit can be tuned in such a manner that the distance (14) between the sensor coil (16) and the object to be measured (10) has virtually no longer any effect on the sensor signal (34). The circuit facilitates operation of a magneto-elastic sensor, in particular determination of the state of tension of a moving object to be measured.
