EN LA PRODUCCION DE CLORATO DE METAL ALCALINO POR ELECTROLISIS DE CLORURO DE METAL ALCALINO EN UN ELECTROLIZADOR, UNA PARTE DE LA FASE LIQUIDA PROCEDENTE DEL ELECTROLIZADOR SE LLEVA A UN CRISTALIZADOR PARA PRECIPITACION DE CRISTALES DE CLORATO DE METAL ALCALINO. EL HIDROGENO GASEOSO FORMADO EN EL ELECTROLIZADOR SE PURIFICA DE LA CONTAMINACION POR CLORO GASEOSO PONIENDOLO EN CONTACTO CON LAS AGUAS MADRES DE SALIDA DEL CRISTALIZADOR, LAS CUALES TIENEN UN PH COMPRENDIDO EN EL INTERVALO DE 7,5 A 14. LAS AGUAS MADRES SE HACEN VOLVER LUEGO AL SISTEMA DE ELECTROLISIS.
