Abstract
Process which recovers up to 80% of the water contained in the sludges produced by plants producing terrazzo products, ceramics, colouring matters and the like, whilst the sludge is collected in the totally dry state as site waste capable of being deposited at municipal tips without being regarded as a pollutant, and which involves a settling basin which carries out a first separation of the water from the sludges, the water being directed again to the production process, and a press filter which receives the sludge and, by means of suitable pressure applied inside it, recovers the rest of the water via meshes, whilst the sludge cake is discharged dry through the action of gravity, the cycle thus being reinitiated once again. Periodically, a flocculant is added to the settling device as a settling aid.
